I stumbled upon this gem while searching for an affordable park, barn, or winery to have my picnic themed wedding. I decided to check out this historical mansion, and it was absolutely beautiful! Also, the historians who work there and keep the house open are so sweet! They gave us access to the inside as well as outside, they have caterers (however, we opted to do our own food), an upstairs area for the wedding party to get ready in, a super spacious back yard with tons of shade and gorgeous gardens for photographs.

Mudd's Grove is the site of the Kirkwood Historical Society. It is a historic home with a lovely yard that has a gazebo which can be used for an outdoor wedding like ours. There are also beautiful flower gardens on the premises that work great for photos. If you'd like to use the interior of the home for the ceremony and dinner, the maximum number of guests is 50, but an outdoor wedding can have as many people as the yard can hold. They do have 50 chairs that they will let you use as part of the fee for using the facility. That is all that they can provide. All tables, tableware, runner, etc. must be rented (via the caterer). They do require you to use one of three approved caterers. We went with the vendor (Hanneke's) that had done the most weddings there, and we were very pleased. The place is just beautiful. If you have a smallish wedding, I would highly recommend Mudd's Grove.
