The reality that many marriages end in divorce hit me like a ton of bricks when I finally found my person… despite practicing family law as an attorney where divorce is literally part of my job. I can tell you with so much certainty that my future husband and I will never get divorced. This is my first (and I plan on only) marriage after being cautious due to a tumultuous childhood, characterized by domestic violence and child abuse. But my “legal” brain had a serious conversation with my “lover” brain and reminded me that we simply cannot predict the future.

Services Offered

Approximately 10 months before the wedding date, my future husband and I drafted and signed a Prenup. Reflecting on the discussions leading to the Prenup, I feel they were necessary for us to create a strong foundation that we can build upon during our marriage. And now, I can focus with much more comfort on our wedding plans! The team at Modern Legal aims to educate future spouses about the legal side of marriage so they're better prepared for creating their lives together.
