Mike & Gina are true gems! Not only are they incredibly sweet and personable, but they produce quality photographs that take you back to your memorable day as if you were experiencing it all over again.
After our proposal shoot at Carmel Valley Ranch, we liked Mike and Gina so much we continued to celebrate with them over wine on the pool terrace.

Mike and his wife are awesome! They were recommended to me by the people at carmel valley ranch, where i was planning my proposal during a weekend getaway. I have a very demanding job so getting away to make calls can be tough,but 2 phone conversations and a few text with Mike and he helped figure everything out, including the where and how as he was familiar with the location. Beyond that, he went to pick up the flowers for me so that i wouldn't pay delivery fees, and him and his wife acted a bit when it came time for the proposal to make the proposal extra special.
He caught some amazing shots, and made us feel comfortable, matter a fact he wasn't in our face he just let us be and focused on the moments.This is coming from someone who's very uncomfortable with pictures and can't pose to save his life. His directions were, walk this way, hold hands and then he worked his magic. He had the photos edited and uploaded in about 7 days, where we were able to download photos in multiple formats (print/social media) and have a phone friendly version He's price is relatively the same as most photographers but i got wayyyyyyy more than i paid for, absolutely amazing service. Mike Steelman is an AMAZING photographer! He and his wife Gina captured exquisite moments throughout the wedding day and the results are flawless. We planned our wedding from across the country and Mike was incredibly gracious and accommodating. We interviewed him over Skype and loved that he is a down-to-earth guy who knows how to navigate and capture party moments without making guests stiffen up. He helped coordinate pictures of our large bridal party efficiently while cracking jokes and making us smile and relax. We received over 600 gorgeous images and are so pleased with how they turned out. I would highly recommend him to be your wedding photographer.

We also used a photo-booth through Mike Steelman Photography which was a highlight for the guests. We got copies of the photos (as did the guests) and were also very pleased with this service.

Mike and Gina are a fantastic duo! Mike's incredible energy and enthusiasm makes you feel so comfortable in front of a camera. He photographed our engagement photos, then photographed our wedding on September 2013. My husband and I were blown away! Photography is by far one of the most important things to book for your wedding as it captures all the special moments, details you plan, expressions of your loved ones, and much more! In fact, my husband and I saw Mike's photos online, spoke with him on the phone, met with him for a consult, and booked him a year and a half before our wedding. He was the first vendor we booked, and we chose all our other vendors based on recommendations from him - even our venue! He had the ability to capture more than we could ever imagine! All our guests talked about how personable he and his wife were, and how they thought they were guests as well! I couldn't ask for a more professional and attentive team. I highly recommend their services if you want a relationship with your photographers, want to feel comfortable, want great advice, and photos are important to you! You get way more than you pay for! We also chose to have a hand-made Japanese photo album made with amazing quality pictures, fun cut out and flip open pages, and 150 photos - this was an incredible option for us as we are both very artistic people! I carry it to show everyone, and my guests love to relive our wedding through the album as it appears to tell a story with such vibrant colors! I will ask for Mike and Gina to be our photographers again for all future life events. They now feel like friends! Thanks Mike and Gina!

Mike is excellent to work with and creates beautiful photographs! He is very energetic and also very professional. We love our wedding pictures!! Mike and his team are very talented. My only regret is that, we were supposed to take a photograph at nighttime, but both myself, the groom and Mike forgot to do so. Very, very minor issue though. We were all too busy having fun celebrating! All of the other photographs he was able to capture during the reception, ceremony, and getting ready portion of the wedding day thoroughly makes up for the one picture we forgot to take. In regards to responsiveness, Mike Steelman is extremely busy because he is so popular and talented; as a result, he can be hard to get a hold off but he does reply just in time, prior to any scheduled appointments.

Five stars is nowhere near the number of stars that Mike deserves. We were fortunate that our wedding coordinator (F. Duncan Reyes) was able to find Mike within 3 weeks of our wedding (in June, no less- height of the wedding season) when we realized that the original photographer we hired (and paid a $700 deposit on) dropped off the face of the earth.

When Mike heard of our situation, he was very sympathetic and agreed to lower his prices for us. I don't know what we would've done without him or Duncan. They were instrumental in helping to make our special day memorable. Mike is funny, energetic, passionate, creative, and has a B-I-G generous heart (he threw in a second photographer, Nicole, for no charge! She, too, was great!). I could go on & on, but WeddingWire probably wouldn't appreciate posting a 10-page review.

Just contact Mike. Talk with him. Hire him. Play foosball with him. You'll be glad you did.

Hiring Mike Steelman Photograhy as our wedding photographer was the best decision we ever made. If you are a couple like us, one who is paying for your wedding with little to no assistance from family members, you have to decide what are your must haves and what aren't. For my husband and I, having amazing photos to look at for the rest of our lives was the most important. As such, choosing a photographer was a hard thing to do. That is until we met Mike! He is a down to earth family man that loves what he does and will do everything in his power to get you exactly what it is you are looking for. On top of that, he is a blast to work with! I am a bit of a stress ball but he always made me feel at ease! Just remember that your wedding day will go by in a flash and what you have afterwards is an amazing marriage, a loving husband/wife, and amazing photos to look back now...that is if you hire Mike Steelman Photography as your wedding photographer. Don't second guess yourself, hire him if he is available! It will be the best decision you will ever make!

Book Mike. We were caught in between Mike and another photographer on the peninsula. We went with Mike because he does the best job connecting with his clients. Also- and this is sort of an aside- I think because he is young and he has a young family he does a good job understanding his clients' perspective. Couldn't recommend him more- from initiation to completion he was patient, flexible, and well informed about the local area. He knows his craft. Book him.
