About
A strong photojournalism background shapes the way I approach wedding photography:
My unobtrusive, down-to-earth approach allows your wedding to unfold as it should, with the focus remaining on you at all times. I don’t want to be noticed. I want to blend in and not distract from the story. The story (your wedding day) is told more accurately and truthfully if we shoot it as it happens, without interference. Working in this manner allows me to capture the real moments, the real emotions, that make your day so special and unique. But it isn’t only the moments. It isn’t just candid photography. I am looking for amazing light. I am looking for powerful composition. I am looking for art. The photos you can’t plan for are often the ones that are the most memorable, the most iconic.
I have also developed exceptional people skills. Making people comfortable when shooting portraits is critical. Portraits should look natural, without being overly staged. Almost every couple has requests for “formals” that include groups of family members, the bridal party, the bride and groom alone, and perhaps more. I will help you with that list and provide as much direction as you need. It’s important for me to make sure we schedule enough time to get all of the group shots that are desired, but also, not to keep you away from your other guests longer than you would like. Portraits should be fun and unique, but they shouldn’t dominate your wedding day.
While covering a wedding I also pay special attention to details such as flowers, jewelry, decorations, table settings, food, and so much more. I would encourage you to also let me know of any details that are especially important to you, so that I could give those items an even closer look.

I have been photographing weddings since 2005. I love getting to know the couples I work with, and we often remain friends well after they get married. I even get to photograph some of their kids, eventually. When I shoot a wedding and that couple later wants me to photograph their newborn…that’s pretty cool. Then to see that child grow up as I continue to photograph him or her, year after year, is very rewarding.
This is a very personal business for me. From the initial inquiry, through the planning process, the site walk-thru, to the actual wedding, the editing of images, and the designing of the album pages…I personally handle everything from start to finish. My name is on the company and I take that very seriously.
My wife, Tori, and I have three kids. The newest addition to our family is Mackensey Jayne. She was born in 2017. My other daughter, Dylan, is 13 and my son, Jaxon, is 14. My children are my favorite photo subjects, though I am sure sometimes they wish this wasn’t the case We also have a mini golden doodle named Charlie. Besides my family, I love travel adventures, photography, craft beer, and running. I have even set my sites on running a marathon in each of the 50 states. Only 26 more to go!
I grew up wanting to be a newspaper photographer. After graduating from Towson University I worked on staff for several publications including the Daily Record in New Jersey. I have freelanced for countless other outlets including: USA Today, Baltimore Sun, Washington Post, the Daily News (New York City), The Budapest Sun (Hungary), Reuters (Germany), and the Associated Press (Baltimore). I have done independent photo projects in places such as Cuba, Morocco, Siberia, and Cambodia, to name just a few.
