Michael was awesome photographing our elopement. Being from Ohio, we were out of our element finding a photographer to document our special day in New Orleans, but after doing a rather exhaustive search online, I was lucky enough to find Michael. I reached out to him via email and he almost immediately responded back. I discussed w/him what we liked, what kind of places we were looking for and right away he had a game plan.

Unfortunately, the COVID lockdowns hit and we decided that it would be better to postpone our elopement from last year to this year (2022). I contacted Michael and he couldn't have been more understanding and accommodating as we pushed our date back a year.

Our day finally came and again, being from out of town we were nervous about how everything was going to work out, but Michael had everything worked out and it was a stress free afternoon in The French Quarter. He had all of the areas that we wanted mapped out and showed us several places that we of course didn't even know about. The pictures came out amazing and everyone that has seen them have commented how great they are. Michael was very professional, personable and we couldn't have been happier. I would absolutely recommend Michael to anyone seeking a photographer in the New Orleans area. You won't be disappointed!!!

As out-of-towners, we had the distinct pleasure of working with Michael Caswell as our photographer for our destination wedding in New Orleans. We specifically sought him out because he featured both opposite sex an same sex couples on his website, and it was important to us that our vendors share our views on equality. He worked with us to select the perfect photography package for our very small destination wedding in New Orleans. Michael is super responsive and completely transparent about his very reasonable pricing (which is listed on his website, unlike many other vendors). We were able to meet with him during a wedding planning trip back in March, and his friendly, professional manner immediately put us at ease. On the day of the wedding, our friends and family commented on how efficient he was at shooting the formal portraits, and how great he was at being unobtrusive during the ceremony. I cannot say enough about Michael Caswell. I chose him after seeing his impressive work and reading all the great reviews. I reached out to him and he was super quick in replying. Thankfully he was available for my wedding date. He returned every email timely and was extremely helpful when I asked for suggestions on various things such as venues, videographers, etc. Initially, after seeing his work, I didn’t think I would be able to afford him, so imagine my surprise to discover how reasonably priced he actually was. On the day of the wedding, he arrived on time and ready to get to work. He was so polite, respectful and just a joy and pleasure to work with. Even when I was freaking out when family members were making us wait for pictures, he was so cool, calm and collected and in turn, calmed me down. He notified me when he had preview pics up on his blog. I cannot express how pleased I was. I sent the link to friends and family and all I got from everyone was how amazing the photography was. I then received the rest of the images – I cannot stress how incredibly excited I was to see them. He arranged the images in sequential order, so I literally re-lived my entire wedding through his lens. It was the first time I saw my bridal party walking down the aisle, guests dancing at the reception and so much more that I missed. The pictures are simply beyond beautiful. Michael is a great photographer and his prices are very affordable. He was quick to respond, accommodating of our ideas and styles, and was a joy to work with. My husband and I wanted candid photos mostly as we aren't very comfortable with the stand and pose type. Michael took amazing candids and has a great talent for truly capturing the moment. My favorite part of Michael's photography style is that he lets the moment happen and captures the best parts of it. There wasn't a lot of "SMILE" or "look over here", which was nice because I really didn't have to worry about anything. Michael was even patient with our families when they insisted on taking their own pictures or kept trying to get us to look at their cameras while Michael was working. Michael was wonderful!!

Michael was great to work with for our wedding! Our pictures came out amazing and he really does a great job of capturing special moments and emotions, which we loved. A little more direction would have been helpful during our first look pictures to capture some creative and unique pictures, but his specialty is capturing the moment- so overall we were very happy with him and our photos. My only regret is that we didn't have more time with him before the wedding for the getting ready and first look. I highly recommend Michael!

Michael was very responsive, friendly, personable and respectful of our culture we brought to our wedding. He was able to capture moments that we are able to look back and relive. He is absolutely wonderful!

Michael was the biggest blessing at my wedding. Not only did he make some excellent suggestions for other vendors, he was such an easy person to work with. We had a brief 2 minute chat when he showed up the day of and I kinda just told him I didn't want to take a ton of staged photos and he absolutely listened. He suggested an excellent spot for our first look and we had gotten a permit to take pics in Jackson Square. The pictures turned out incredible. I used one for my Christmas card and got so many compliments. I guess the best thing to say about Michael is that you couldn't really tell he was there. He wasn't "directing" anything--but when I got my pics back, I couldn't believe how beautiful he captured the moment and I didn't even realize we were being photographed. I couldn't be more pleased and have recommended him to everyone I know getting married in New Orleans. Book Michael!
