The Merchant's House Museum is NYC's only family home preserved virtually intact from the 19th century. Complete with the family's original furniture and decorative arts, it presents an unparalleled view of life in New York from 1835-1865. The ideal location for your intimate ceremony or elopement, say your vows in the museum’s lushly planted 19th-Century “Secret” Garden.

Wedding Ceremony in the Garden
Up to 25 people — Including the bridal couple, guests, and all vendors (photographer, officiant, musicians, etc.)
Two hours (no early entry)
Rental fee $1,200 — Includes a tax-deductible membership in the Merchant’s House Museum
Chairs — On-site Wedding Concierge and Museum Staff will set up/break down folding chairs.
The elegant Greek Revival Double Parlor is available for ceremonies in case of rain.
Post-Wedding Ceremony Toast
Bring your own champagne and light hors d’oeuvres.
Toast within Ceremony (2 hours total): $15 per person (min. $150)
Add one hour (3 hours total): $25 per person (min. $250)
Museum Staff will set up one table.
Client is responsible for providing all other supplies (tablecloth, cups, napkins, food/beverage), as well as set up, arranging, and serving. Catered events are not permitted.
