Norwood is a historic art gallery wedding venue located in New York, New York. The venue is a private club that is an active sponsor of creative talent in the New York area. This unique space is arranged over five floors in this spectacular landmarked townhouse, providing a contemporary and one-of-a-kind backdrop for your special day.
Facilities and Capacity
Norwood offers both indoor and outdoor venue options for an unforgettable ceremony and reception. Inside this perfectly preserved 1847 mansion, there are 13 fireplaces, huge mahogany doors and intricate plaster crown molding. The house decor and art are curated by owner Alan Linn. There are 2 rotating art galleries at the club - Lounge rotates annually over Labor Day and the Salon (Studio241) rotates quarterly. The ideal size for a wedding is 75 for use of all levels, however several less traditional weddings have spread over multiple floors for up to 200 guests. Rooms available include:

The Andrew Norwood House is an elegant urban residence designed in a transitional style that combines Greek revival and Italianate features. The venue is a remarkably preserved slice of early Victorian architecture and lifestyle, both inside and out. The house is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.

You can't begin to imagine how unique and special our wedding celebration was due to the folks at Norwood. Nowhere in NYC (or arguably any other city -- we looked) will you find such a cool, hip, different venue. All of our guests commented on every detail, and more importantly, had a blast dancing late into the night. Food was delicious. The in-house events coordinator, Rachelle, is a total pro who has been doing this for years. She is quite connected, and creative. Her team took note of every detail. I was so pleased that we have held other events there as well. Recommend without reservation for any couple looking for something unusual, interesting, and FUN.

We had the most wonderful and magical wedding reception experience at Norwood. Everything went impeccably smooth, from the planning to execution. Rachelle Koser was an absolute pleasure to work with and is super knowledgeable about how to run a reception. The staff was amazing; our guests kept commenting on how fun they were and how they really contributed to the joyful atmosphere of the evening. The food was outstanding, super tasty and unique dishes that accommodated all diets. Norwood Club is set in a beautiful, historic brownstone and is decorated with an eclectic and ever-changing mix of modern art. We loved the decor so much, we only needed to provide floral arrangements; this freed up a major portion of the wedding reception planning process on our end and made for some epic pictures. They have the kitchen in the building and handle all food and clean up/ tear down services which made the experience completely effortless on our part. The club has multiple floors, so we were able to divide the party up into pre-dinner cocktails, dinner, and then dance party. This allowed us to change up the vibe throughout the night and made for seamless transitions. Our friends are still telling us this was the best wedding venue to which they had ever been. We cannot recommend Rachelle Koser, the rest of the Norwood team, and the Norwood Club venue enough!! Best wedding reception experience!!!

Our experience was amazing from the planning to the actual wedding day. Norwood was very intimate and perfect in every way; the team is incredible. Our family and friends are still raving about what they experienced during our wedding and reception. Everyone loved the vibe, art, food, staff, and overall charm of the Norwood.

From start to finish, our experience with Norwood was top-rate. As native New Yorkers, we never dreamed we would be able to afford a city wedding party with outdoor space!! Event planner Rachelle, who is so charming and professional, definitely worked on every detail to help us realize the wedding party we hoped for. She was prompt with email replies and available for any question, no matter how small. Our menu tasting was a delight, and the chef accommodated our input (which my chef husband especially appreciated) which really made us feel listened to and actively part of the party--we never once felt like a nuisance or like we were getting a cookie-cutter event. Even the fact that the Norwood Club has its own art on display (including lovely lanterns in the trees out back and elegant furniture in the front room where our older guests could relax) meant that we had a unique and effortless environment without the irritation of choosing napkin colors or worrying about whether the chairs would arrive. I can't express our thanks enough to the whole team. The club was even flexible when we wound up running a little late coming back from the venue. We really felt so grateful for all the little details--for example one of the servers saw my husband didn't get any of the circulated oysters and made sure she brought him a whole tray for himself. When the bartender refused to pour me a champagne when our open bar had literally just ended (in spite of the fact that I was the one in the lacy white dress!) Camille attentively and quietly went over and got me a new glass, apologizing on the bartender's behalf. At each step of the way, Rachelle and Camille really ensured that we were treated like royalty. I couldn't have been happier with the decor, environment, and care provided by the Norwood Club. We highly, highly recommend the Norwood Club!

My husband and I had our cocktail hour and wedding reception at Norwood, along with a private Korean wedding ceremony in the top floor screening room. Rachelle and the team at Norwood were such a pleasure to work with. Rachelle was super accommodating, especially with a last minute booking of the screening room when it was close to the wedding date. Her team operates with a great amount of flexibility and are willing to adapt as you go as plans change and evolve. They also made some on-the-fly decisions the day of when it came to setting up the decorations and florals that we brought in, which made everything look even better than I could have planned for. I felt like they were on our side to make sure that our wedding event was perfect. They coordinated with our other vendors without a hitch, let us stop by to view the space again and again at any time, and kept the ongoing communication (over the span of a year) fluid and transparent. Aside from the amazing team, the space itself is beautiful and makes the perfect setting to any event that requires special attention. On top of that, their menu is delicious and we loved every single thing we tried (and so did our guests). Some extra benefits in planning your event with Norwood: they have a roster of DJs you can book, they design and print place cards, seating charts, and the dinner menu. They make event planning easy. Absolutely no regrets in choosing Norwood for our wedding reception. I could not recommend Norwood enough!

Everything about Norwood, from the venue to the staff, has always been excellent. I had been a member for a few years and they really make you feel at home. We had our wedding over Thanksgiving weekend and wanted to make that a theme, and they went above and beyond to make our rehearsal dinner a full blown family style Thanksgiving dinner! I could not recommend it more.

I had a wonderful experience planning a wedding at Norwood this past May. Not only am I head over heels in love with the venue and all of the amazing details there, but the staff is great and Rachelle and Camille make for a stellar events team.
