About

Have a wedding for the history books at Mercer Museum! This 7-story museum was opened in 1916 by Henry Champan Mercer who wanted to create a space that preserved the relics of America in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, Mercer Museum is home to a collection of over 30,000 handmade tools that were going to be swept away by the Industrial Revolution. With its beautiful castle exterior and rich history inside, you and your guests are sure to be transported back in time! Soon-to-be-weds can become a part of this history when they choose to host their nuptials here.

Facilities and Capacity

Dr. Henry Chapman Mercer, the designer and architect of the property, meant for the museum to look like a castle. This lends itself well to those who want a wedding that has been plucked from the pages of a storybook. When you book here, your engagement party, rehearsal dinner, shower, ceremony, and reception can take place within these halls. Guests can witness your union as you say your vows on the well-manicured lawns or in the Elkins Gallery if you prefer something inside. If you want to dine under the stars, the venue's clear-topped tent offers a spectacular atmosphere. It can also hold up to 150 people, ensuring that all your loved ones can be in attendance. Couples can also go explore the museum and take some one-of-a-kind pictures to commemorate their big day.

Services Offered

The team at Mercer Museum are excited to welcome you for your nuptials. Couples can make use of various event items and amenities on offer, including tables, chairs, glassware, linens, get-ready rooms, event planners, and more. The catering team and bartending staff will make your dining experience one to remember. The team can also assist with setup and clean up, as well as parking.

Amazing Venue!

What a amazing venue. Beautiful place for a wedding. We decided to book the Mercer Museum for our fall wedding and the photos online don’t do it justice, spectacular. We toured the venue and were blown away by how incredibly beautiful it is, the great packages, and the coordinators are so responsive and accommodating. The venue package comes with everything you need to make for easy planning. Could not recommend enough!!

Had a wonderful experience!

We had our event here with Jeffrey Miller Catering and couldn't have asked for anything more! From the food to the venue to the staff, everything was perfect and above and beyond our expectations. This venue has so many different options and truly offered the unique experience we wanted for all of our guests.

We knew we wanted a unique wedding venue because we were tired of attending weddings at golf clubs, hotels, farms, etc. We visited the Mercer Museum a year before we were engaged and fell in love with the artifacts. Once Sean popped the question, we wondered if the Museum would even consider having a wedding.

Turns out, they do host weddings! We had our reception in the Central Hall with our guests surrounding us on the multiple levels. They explored the museum during cocktail hour, held in Elkin's Gallery, and we enjoyed dinner under a romantic tent. Dancing took place in the Gallery and our cigar bar was located right outside the tent.

Our guests raved about how unique and fun the wedding was! I would highly recommend this venue!

Memorable Affairs is the exclusive caterer for this venue. Jack, Tammy and Cathy all worked together to give us the wedding Scott & I dreamed of. We started our journey with an initial meeting with Jack and Tammy. They took us on a tour of the museum and facility. Both were very personable and professional! We were hooked! The Museum, tent and Elkins Gallery are beautiful as well as the grounds of the Museum. We booked the venue the very next week. We wanted to have a small intimate wedding as it was our 2nd for both of us. Scott & I did our research and found Memorable Affairs to be the most reasonable in price with no minimum guest requirements. Maximum was 80 if you wanted a sit down dinner in Elkins Gallery. We had our wedding at St. Peter's, in North Wales, followed by our reception at Mercer Museum. The cocktail hour was hosted in their tent followed by a sit down dinner in the Elkins Gallery. It was a perfect size for our 70 guests with an evening of dining and dancing! The food was excellent! Cathy was there from the onset of our evening and took care of every detail. She set up the tables and room as I envisioned them to be. Service was wonderful. Everything was perfect and beautiful. We had a group picture in the museum with all our guests. It was awesome. The only suggestion I would have a visible sign so that your guests are aware and reminded to take advantage of a private tour of the museum. If you are like Scott and I, looking for something different, classy, upscale, intimate, affordable and absolutely beautiful, chose Mercer Museum and Memorable Affairs for your wedding venue!! Memorable Affairs is the exclusive caterer for this venue and they handle everything from booking the venue to the decorations you want to the menu. They were very professional and responded to all of our questions and concerns quickly. On the day of the wedding we worked with Tammy and she was awesome! She helped with setting up all of the decorations and coordinating everything so that the day ran smoothly. She added some little touches that made it really special (like colored swiss dots on the cake and some flowers left over from one of our arrangements down the side). She even helped with the timing of everyone walking down the aisle. I was so glad that she was there that day to help with everything! The only thing that I would say the company could improve would be the forms and documents from the time of booking to the day of. We had so many papers and some of the information on them conflicted and it got pretty confusing. They were there to help us sort through it, but I think they could streamline this process with some sort of online log in where clients can view a running statement and see changes. Overall, I would absolutely recommend them to anyone! They were fabulous!
