Vintage Charm Wedding 2025

Value: they do a food and drink minimum, and with that the venue comes free. The food was absolutely delicious and such a hit, I was hearing about the mushroom ravioli for weeks post wedding from attendees. The price point is also exceptional in comparison to other venues on here. I was able to host a breakfast for 20 people, dinner for 140 and have a bar tab of roughly 2 drinks per person. The food and drink minimum also covers the price of the staff, bartender etc. we toured 1 place in Portland, that could only host max 70 people, had an awkward layout and smelt like dog urine and it was at cost half of what the Crystal charged us, and that didn’t include a single chair, table anything just raw space. So the value is definitely there.

Staff: I could probably go on for pages about the staff. I had two wedding coordinators while planning and they were unbelievably helpful. They allowed us access to the venue multiple times (Crystal ballroom totally empty, such a cool experience.) as well as allowed us to shoot our engagement photos at the ballroom for free. They were super helpful with adding their perspectives on how things should be laid out and how the ceremony typically plays out. Their advice helped me a lot!

Space: The space is unbelievable, it’s historic, vintage and elegant. I got so many compliments on how nice my wedding looked and how great the space was set up.

Communication: through out the entire planning event the coordinators were on top of communication. From day one they were available to walk the venue, respond to emails promptly and when things had to be shuffled around they offered to comp costs for certain things. Before booking them I reached out to multiple venues and never heard anything back which was a bit discouraging, but mcmenamins got back to me super quick even from the very beginning.

After Event: my close out cost after the event was exactly what we discussed it would be. No hidden costs or surprise charges. The venue even allowed for me to come back after my honeymoon to get my wedding passport stamp. (if you know you know)

Over all, I wouldn’t have changed anything. My sister what her wedding at edgefield and had a similar experience and was the one that recommended mcmenamins as a wedding venue. You have so many locations to choose from so no matter the size of your wedding, or the theme you would likely be able to find something in your price range and the vibe you’re searching for.

Special shout out to Kelby & Kyle. It was such an honor working with them and they made it so special for me.

Fabulous Venue Choice!

I had my wedding reception here a few weeks ago and it was a great experience. My husband and I were so happy that we decided to book them. From the intial planning stages to the night itself it was wonderful! The planning coordinator, Kyle, was super professional, kind and a great communicator. The staff that worked the night of the wedding were wonderful as well. We loved the food, drinks, service and overall ambiance of the Crystal Ballroom! It was just a complete blast! It's one of the more affordable options in Portland, especially if you have a large guest list and want a really nice reception. It was also just a great deal easier to have all the catering and set up take place in house. I know during the summer that many people want outdoor weddings but if you don't have heart set on an outdoor venue, I highly recommend the Crystal Ballroom. Natural light poured in for quite some time and then once darkness fell it was a heart-stopping, downright dancy party! With the bouncy floor and great sound system everyone was loving it. If you ask ahead of time, they can give you access to the outside balcony which we did for "golden hour" photos. One other cool perk is your name along with a message of your choice appears on the marquee under the Crystal Ballroom sign. It was a completely unforgettable experience all around!

We can’t rave enough about our experience at the Crystal Ballroom. Choosing it as a venue for our wedding was the best decision we made. We took a brewery tour of the Crystal Ballroom while looking for wedding venues. When we walked into the Crystal Ballroom, the decision was immediate and unanimous.

It's beautiful and immense. From the ornate murals on the walls to the chandeliers and the floating dance floor, we were absolutely blown away. This is in addition to an impressive light and sound system, the mezzanine seating, and the history of the 100-year-old building that greets you when you go up the stairs.

I have to admit, it was really daunting thinking about hiring separate caterers, bartenders and rentals for venues we were looking at. The price just kept adding up. The Crystal Ballroom was so affordable. They took care of everything, from the food and alcohol to rental equipment, servers to pass our appetizers, bartenders for our bar, it was all included in the service. Kyle was our event coordinator for the wedding and he was the best vendor we interacted with throughout the wedding planning process. He responded quickly and was always positive and clear when we asked him questions. He had great ideas on little things we could add to make the wedding fun and was so easy to work with. Jonathon and the staff was so attentive and professional. I felt free to mingle and party without worrying about anything.

The DJ was so excited to play at the Ballroom because their sound and light system were top of the line. The Sound package gets you a light and sound engineer for the entire duration and was worth every penny! The dancefloor never stopped bouncing! It was so packed with dancers and so bouncy that those sitting down at the tables couldn’t help but join in on the dancing. The food was delicious! The beer and wine were amazing! The wedding was perfect. It was everything we could have hoped for and more!

This is an amazing venue for a wedding. Thomas and Kyle were great to deal with as we were planning the wedding, but Jonathan was the king of the day. He made sure we had everything we needed and addressed every concern with a "we can do it" attitude!

As a bride, I dreamt about my wedding day as the perfect event to celebrate my love for my groom but also to host one hell of a party for my friends and family. And I certainly got that at the Crystal Ballroom! My fiancé and I had an absolute blast and I cannot say enough good things about our experience with McMenamins. When we were searching for venues, we knew we needed a large enough space to accommodate our 300 guests plus provide shade and/or indoor relief from the heat that typically befalls Portland during the middle of August. The Crystal Ballroom is spacious and unique -- starting with the dance floor. If you haven't danced on the floating dance floor, it's definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience! McMenamins' level of service is bar-none -- from booking and organizing the venue with McMenamins' corporate sales and booking department (Thank you, Kyle Oman for ALL of your help!) -- to the servers and bartenders running around for us on the night of the wedding. The food was excellent, the McMenamins beer and wine is always a treat, and we were just so happy with everything overall. Our guests were impressed and so were we! 5 stars!!!

We had such a great experience having our ceremony and reception at the crystal ballroom. Everything from the tables and linens to the sound system was included so there was very little for us to worry about. The wedding coordinator we worked with was very friendly and responsive and made the while process stress-free. The food was awesome and the beer and wine delicious. There is just a food and beverage minimum with no charge to rent the space and it even included tables and linens. Can't beat the value and the bouncing dance floor was so much fun!

Our wedding at the Crystal Ballroom was so amazing and special! The Crystal Ballroom is so beautiful and didn't need anything for decor. Daniel was enjoyable to work with and McMenamins was the best choice because the food was amazing!

This is a beautiful venue. The food was okay. Most of the guests seemed to enjoy it. I thought it was rather bland and boring though. The staff was responsive and friendly. We had no issues with anything at the venue.

We heart the Crystal Ballroom. It's one of the largest venues in Portland. It's got character, history, and a great sound system all rolled up into one. For a DJ, this place is one of the premiere places to play at. It's not only because the sound system is state of the art and but also because so many great musicians have played on the very same stage before us. If you are concerned with the added cost of using the sound system here, don't worry, it's worth every penny. No portable sound system could ever recreate or fill the space that this venue already has. If you are interested in this place, Kyle is your man. He can show you all the in's and out's of the Crystal Ballroom, their awesome food and drink menu, and when you book here you can even get your name outside on the famous marquee while you dance the night away on the original bouncy dance floor.
