Marvin's pass is extraordinary!

WOW! My soon-to-be daughter-in-law's bridal shower was held at Marvin's Pass last weekend and where do I even begin? The grounds are stunning, Jen and her girls are phenomenal, and the barn is tastefully decorated to the nines...I just can't say enough about the hospitality and the way the Richardsons make you feel like you are the only bride (and family) that matters! You can tell from the first meeting with Jen that Marvin's Pass is near and dear to her heart and she is elated to help make this day the most special stress-free day no matter what the celebration! She listens and guides with the bride in mind. And is so open to doing things outside the box. She takes your ideas and elevates them to the dream you were afraid to ask for! Marvin's Pass has quiet, country charm and a uniqueness that is all it's own!

Absolutely speechless

Jen and her team made us feel like we were at home and listened to every detail that we asked of how we wanted things to be and set up. She kept in touch with us up until the wedding asking if we needed anything or advice or vendors. Our wedding was when COVID first started and we were scared we wasn’t going to be able to have it still but we did and it was the best day of our lives. We couldn’t of asked for a better venue or team to help us make our wedding day the best day ever. We will 110% recommend this place. It’s beautiful, a great area, and the people that own it are phenomenal at their job.

Wedding Dream in Nature

Can't say enough wonderful things about Marvin's Pass and the Richardson family. They made our day and the whole experience wonderful and stress-free.
Not to mention this place is the best deal for your money for sure. So many things are included, it was a huge relief. The place is more beautiful than pictures do justice, brand new dance floor & fire pit are amazing. The photo opportunities here are awesome.
To briefly address bride-zillas: This place is kept up wonderfully. Rustic but still manicured. However, Divas who have only been on golf course man-made lawns, be aware you will have to walk across grass, just regular ol' outside common grass. I get that some people are used to being chauffeured to the doorstep of their every destination, but here, only guests with disabilities get to be driven all the way down.
And this isn't a huge operation, it's a family small business. One couple managing an entire year or more of weddings. The details, planning & money & question's from couples non-stop that she is ALWAYS glad to respond to. It's okay to text her to ask her or remind her of something.
Back to my review. Our night went without a hitch. It looked great, they were ready with whatever we needed. And the DJ was top-notch. She was also attentive & ready to help with anything!
Their daughters were sweet & fun, and Mr. Richardson is quite a handy hard-working guy!. Jen is the sweetest and most considerate person you will find. They honestly have a passion for creating a joyous celebration for new couples. A great way to honor Mr. Marvin.

Highly Recommend

All I have to say is my wedding was absolutely perfect and amazing at Marvin's Pass! Jenn and her family were so nice and worked so hard to make our day perfect. Previous reviews have stated some issues, but I did not experience any of that. We had 170 guests with alcohol and there were no issues with the 2 bartenders. The DJ was the best I've experienced at a wedding and Smokin Js was sooo good! Best mac and cheese around hands down. I'm just so appreciative of all the work Jenn and her family put into our big day. I HIGHLY recommend this venue. I wish I could relive our special day over and over again because it was seriously so perfect!

Amazingly beautiful!

Venue was BEAUTIFUL! Owners were AMAZING! They were all so helpful and sweet and caring! DJ was AMAZING! With our caterer, I mistakenly forgot to order drinks, so DJ's husband drove to the store and paid for gallons of tea and pop! We reimbursed him when he got back, but it was totally not in his "job description" to do that. He just did it out of the kindness of his heart! Jen and her husband made sure EVERYTHING was what we wanted and how we wanted it! If I could do it all over again, I would 110% choose Marvin's Pass over and over again!!!!!!!!

Phenomenal

Jen is so wonderful! She has met with us when needed and answered any questions that we had. She has been completely honest with us about certain things if it’ll work or if it won’t. The venue is gorgeous if you’re looking for a outdoor and/or country style venue and reasonably priced for what it is and what is included. So happy we are going with Marvin’s Pass!

People that care for other people

Marvin's Pass let me rent out tables and chairs for a private event that I had at my house. Marvin's Pass was fast, quick response, and a reliable vender for my needs. Because of Marvin's Pass it made the the party complete and I cannot thank Jennifer enough. I'm so happy Marvin's Pass is in the same small town I live in, their commentment to their community does not go unrecognized. That's why I want to share the good word of Marvin's Pass.

Marvin’s pass beach wedding in passagrille

Although my day ended up being perfect, the whole planning process was absolutely awful. After I had sent pictures of exactly what I wanted, and we had multiple meetings discussing what I wanted, I was still getting pictures completely opposite of the style/bouquet/colors that I had wanted. I went for a very neutral/traditional theme and was getting tropical bright colors sent to me asking if it “that would be okay.” Anytime I had a question, they answered in a snappy text but I continued to bite my tongue. The night before the wedding, I asked to move the wedding ceremony up due to a storm in the gulf that would be causing rain when we would be getting married on the beach. I stated I knew it rained every day in Florida, I’m more than familiar with Florida weather, and basically was told we would be moving the ceremony inside. I told them I was not having that, I didn’t go from Indiana to Florida to have an indoor ceremony instead of being on the beach. After going back and forth, they finally agreed to move the ceremony up. Like I said in the beginning, my day ended up turning out absolutely perfect but the whole time leading up to it, myself and my family were completely prepared to be disappointed. I also don’t recommend staying at “the coconut inn” if you get married in passagrille. The rooms are extremely small and any time it sprinkles, the whole pool/walking area floods so your shoes/pants/bottom of dress gets soaked.

My special day was STRESSFUL

I could go on for paragraphs about Marvin's Pass. All I can say is I was incredibly LET DOWN on the my Special Day. I waitied 8 years for this moment to be full of stress and anxiety.

She doesn't like alcohol at weddings and it was proven. If you are having a dry ceremony and reception, I could potentially reccomended this venue, but if you serve alcohol. DON'T DO IT HERE.

Record and log every conversation with her, if you don't, you will learn the hard way like I did. I was promised, before I signed the contract there would be an outdoor dance floor. One month before my wedding she decided to text me saying, "they put sod instead" mind you
.. it was just grass. We had to pay more money out of pocketfor that.

No Hot running water, they provide BARE MINIMUM. We had 140+ guests. There was 1 trashcan and 1 ash tray for the entire venue, 1 bartender and you could get 1 drink a person.

My bridal party and family had to set up and decorate the entire venue. There were a few things she did... but minimum.

I won't be getting a full deposit back.. 50 dollars out of 250 (which I have YET to see... she broke her own "contract" on that one) because there were cigarette buds, cups, oh and my rented dance floor miraculously killed all of her grass (it was danced on for 3 hours) so she is giving me a "courtesy" of 50 dollars. WHAT.


I could literally give you a novel, just don't rent the venue.
