My husband and I met with multiple wedding planners when starting to plan our wedding in Costa Rica. Marianella stood out as the most personable and professional among them all. At the beginning, we were still undecided about where in Costa Rica we even wanted to have the wedding. Marianella never saw this as an issue. From the onset of planning, she was impressively diligent reaching out to venues and vendors. Her follow-up communication with us was always timely. She even requested that we start having weekly meetings to ensure planning continued to progress and no detail was forgotten. We provided shuttles from the airport to the wedding venue for our guests, and Marianella was involved in every step of the planning process. From emailing guests to collect flight information to coordinating directly with the shuttle drivers, she handled it all seamlessly. She even saved the day when a few guests missed their shuttles, making sure everyone arrived without added stress. I shared Pinterest images of my vision for the wedding flowers and décor, and when I walked down the aisle, everything looked exactly as I had imagined. Marianella truly went above and beyond anything we could have expected from a wedding planner. Her attitude was always one of patience and positivity. We can't recommend her enough.

Marianella is an absolute professional and I am so lucky that my husband and I found her. I was worried about planning a destination wedding and Marianella made it as easy as possible. She held weekly calls with me to go through the status of all the items. She provided multiple options for vendors rather than pushing just one. She coordinated with all my guests and even helped me do some last minute shopping in Costa Rica. She was so on top of everything for our welcome reception and our wedding and everything went smoothly. She is wonderful and I recommend her to anyone looking to have a wedding in Costa Rica.

Marianella helped us organize our wedding in 2021. We hired her in 2020, just before the pandemic, so she had many moving parts and ongoing changes to stay on top of and manage throughout the process. She did a stellar job!

It was important to us to hire someone born and raised in Costa Rica who could share her cultural expertise alongside her wedding expertise. Marianella was the perfect fit for us. She used her many connections to find us the perfect venue, multiple housing options for our guests, an amazing makeup artist, gorgeous flowers, a top-notch photographer, a super fun acoustic band for the ceremony and happy hour, and the perfect DJ for dancing. We still receive compliments on the venue, the food (who remembers the food at weddings), and the band and DJ!

As if this wasn't enough, Marianella organized tours and transfers for our entire group of visiting family and friends. We still use some of her recommended vendors today when we visit!

I would strongly caution anyone considering working with this wedding planner.

She resigned without notice just two days before Christmas, only weeks before the wedding, leaving the couple completely unsupported at a critical moment. There was no proper handover, no contingency plan, and no regard for the stress or impact this caused.

When I stepped in to take over, I discovered multiple errors and oversights across logistics, timelines, and supplier coordination — issues that could have seriously affected the wedding day if they hadn’t been urgently corrected. Thankfully, with intensive work, we were able to fix the mistakes and ultimately save the event, but this should never have been necessary.

Walking away at such a late stage, especially in an industry built on trust, reliability, and care, is deeply unprofessional. Couples deserve consistency, accountability, and support — particularly when they are most vulnerable.

You should be ashamed of how this was handled.
