Gina is incredible. She helped our event run smoothly without any hiccups despite 275+ guests and a big rowdy family. She is so easy to get a hold of and I had multiple people in my bridal party say Gina has a calming effect on people. You need Gina for your wedding, trust me. Worth every penny!

We hired Gina (Make It Happen Events) just two weeks before my daughter's wedding and it was THE BEST decision we made for the special day. Our location was the World Food Prize Hall and the timing to set up for vendors is very tight there. Gina made it all happen! We even had some hiccups with the location plumbing and she handled that as well. Gina and her assistants coordinated over 200 guests through the wedding, cocktail hour, dinner, dance and after flawlessly. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail are outstanding. Gina came highly recommended to us by a friend, since we were looking for a wedding planner who would help us plan our Iowa wedding from out of state. Gina has this incredible energy to her, she understood our vision perfectly, and is well connected in the Des Moines wedding industry. We also found her to be very organized and communicative, and she made the planning process (even during a pandemic) so much easier. We always appreciated her suggestions (ex. donating our wedding flowers to the local VA hospital, which she delivered herself the next day!). We loved her so much that we decided to use her services for our rehearsal dinner as well.

I can go on and on all day about how everyone needs a Gina in their life! As amazing as we thought she was pre-pandemic, when COVID hit we learned to appreciate Gina on a whole other level. We unfortunately had to postpone our original 200+ guest wedding multiple times before settling on a more intimate wedding in December 2020. All along the way she was supportive, calm and reassuring, and helped me and my family coordinate and re-coordinate with our vendors as guidelines continuously changed. I can’t even count the amount of times the sentence “thank God for Gina” came out of our mouths.

I contacted Gina after having already booked a wedding planner who did not meet up to my expectations. While planning our wedding I was a full time student, traveling for clinicals/class, and working as an RN. Needless to say I needed someone who was organized and able to do the bulk of my wedding planning work. Thankfully, Gina was available for our wedding date! We hired Gina as a day of planner to assist with the execution of the wedding and reception. We met with Gina a few times during the planning process. Gina was a great help in planning our wedding, she knows the vendors in the area and helped with determining what details we were overlooking during planning. The month of she was extremely helpful with confirming details with the vendors and building out a detailed timeline of the day.
