Julia and her team were beyond incredible to work with and brought our entire wedding weekend vision to life from gourmet appetizers to assorted smith island cakes for dessert and even late night pizza. Magnolia’s was extremely pleasant to work with and we are very pleased with the quality and level of detail they offered, not to mention the meticulous coordination with the rest our other vendors and wedding planner. We absolutely cannot recommend Magnolia’s enough for your catering needs to ensure your guests are impressed and leave raving about your event!

I am writing this review just two days after our big day as I feel everyone needs to know about Julia and Magnolia Catering. The food, staff and drinks were exceptional.

Julia worked with us, our budget and needs as well as the many dietary needs of our guests.

We had magnolia catering do our post wedding brunch and the magic continued with an incredible spread of absolutely delicious food my husband, family and all wedding guests and I can not recommend magnolia catering enough!

We are hoping the leftovers last a while as we don’t want to stop eating it!

Julia is a force of nature. Not only is she extremely talented in catering, she also knows rentals, tent set-up, linens and so much more! We didn't have a wedding planner, and we couldn't have swung it without Julia's help interfacing with our rentals vendor and helping us figure out our layout and wedding timeline. She was also incredibly helpful in figuring out our bar menu and how much alcohol to purchase. And we loved her attention to detail in decorating the platters with flowers from her home garden (we chose family style) and customizing trays and barware (we requested copper and vintage accents). Now back to the food - SO GOOD. We especially appreciate Julia's commitment to local foods, from local crab to local produce. Every single person I spoke to after the wedding mentioned either her crab cakes or her pies - dinner was truly magical.

Magnolia Caterers were AMAZING! From our first meeting with Julie, discussing all our options and speaking directly to the Bride about what she was looking for, she made sure that our desires and needs were met. She asked about food sensitivities, including allergies, which was important in our 'peanut allergy' family. The Bride is a bit of a picky eater, so she focused on recommending foods that met her tastes which were among the cocktail hour and the dinner menus.
Magnolia Caterers pulled out all the stops for our family and it showed in how comfortable we felt the day of the event, knowing that they would take care of 'everything' AND it would beautiful!
Our guests were comfortable, cared for and many of them, made it a point to share with us, how delicious the food was from beginning to the end!
The staff was outstanding, helpful and happy. It rained for a fair amount of the wedding ceremony and reception, but they never missed a beat!

Julie and her Magnolia crew catered our complicated wedding weekend of 130 people. They executed each meal with care: a light breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, buffet-style lunch, dessert, and brunch the next day. Working with Julie ahead of the wedding was great, and she even brought us over a taste of the food that they ultimately made for us, months later. She was great to work with, and allowed us to work with her, iterating on the menus for weeks. Julie helped us pick out what kinds of chairs and linens we would need, guiding us through all sorts of options. She ended up coordinating the rentals with the tent company on our behalf, as she usually does; it was great to have one fewer vendor to worry about. The servers were all fun and courteous, and basically everything was delicious and went off without a hitch!

We hired Julia and Magnolia Caterers for our 150-person, do-it-yourself backyard wedding in May 2018. Since the reception was at my parents' house under a tent, there was a lot of planning and coordinating required. Having a caterer who knew her stuff and had things under control was essential, especially as my now-husband and I live several states away from where the wedding was held. Julia and her team were excellent and I highly recommend them for the following reasons:
The planning process: Julia helped us think through every detail of the reception, from the cocktail hour to the place cards to the food to the tent layout to the parking - no detail was too small. She was very responsive by both phone and email throughout the process and was always upbeat with a positive attitude. She had an excellent sense of how much staff we needed to help with the service as well as the parking. More than one guest remarked on how great the servers were. There was one server dedicated to me and my now-husband who made sure we ate and got to try all of the appetizers!
The food: We had a family style dinner, which Julia recommended, and which worked out great. Less fussy than plated and more personal than buffet. Other caterers we talked to charged way more for family style than buffet, but Magnolia charged the same for both, which made it an easy choice. The food was excellent (The best crab cakes I've had!) and we loved the two mains (fish and steak) with sides/salads and fresh bread her husband makes! Everything was delicious and Julia was extremely flexible during the menu-planning process, even trying to incorporate some Asian flavors since my husband's family is Chinese.
The set-up: Julia and her team helped to set up the whole tent and reception area while we were at the ceremony and everything looked gorgeous. We had to move inside late in the evening due to a big storm and Julia and her team didn't miss a beat.
Hire Magnolia, you won't regret it!

The first time I called Julia to inquire about our wedding, we talked for almost an hour about food! I have worked in the wedding industry specifically in catering before and knew that the food and service at our wedding would completely set the tone. We were in great hands with Magnolia and our guests STILL can't stop talking about how delicious the food was now almost three months later. The team rolled with the punches as we had some inclement weather for an outdoor ceremony and had to make last minute changes. Julia was attentive, detail oriented, and an absolute joy to work with! We also hired them for our rehearsal dinner which was a second flawless meal and organized event. She genuinely cares about food and loves what she does. We'd recommend Magnolia again and again!

We had an amazing experience working with Julia and Magnolia Caterers! Julia was very responsive to all of our e-mail and calls and brought some amazing ideas to the table (no pun intended). The food was DELICIOUS! We also had her do brunch after our wedding which was incredibly yummy. Servers were friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend Magnolia to anyone getting married in the area!

We can't imagine a better caterer than Julia at Magnolia!! She was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. We loved meeting her and it was very clear she loves working on weddings. She had all kinds of creative ideas when we discussed the style that we wanted. She and her company work with many vendors in the area and she has an excellent relationship with the venues and rental companies, which saved us a ton of time and coordination.
Her food is delicious! The tasting made us so excited, but the food at our wedding was incredible and surpassed everyone's expectations. We had crab cakes that were second to none and she even came up with creative little appetizers that fit our theme and would go well both passed and plated. And don't get us started on the cakes and pies we had. Seriously delicious!
The staff at Magnolia are incredible. They showed up plenty early and set up everything beautifully. The servers were so attentive to everyone and there was no detail too small. They even matched the fonts on our menu cards to make signs for the local cheeses on our cheese table. Amazing!

Let me make this easy for you - pick Magnolia. From start to finish, everything was fantastic. She was easy to work with, thorough with our conversations and served the best food I have ever had at a wedding. She is very detail oriented, so I had total confidence when connecting her with my planner. The cake was the absolute best I have ever had...EVER. My only complaint is that our guests ate it all before I returned from sunset pictures!
