Editorial Bridal Makeup and Hair Must Have

I absolutely loved my experience with Wide Eyed Bride! As an art director, I was looking for a more modern, natural, and editorial take on wedding day hair and makeup, and found that Wide Eyed Bride had a lot of work that fit exactly what I was looking for.

I live out of state, and from my initial email to reviewing my inspiration for my day of look, the team took the time to make sure that my wedding day hair and makeup would be perfect, even without a traditional trial.

Amany was my point of contact leading up to the day, and she was beyond helpful. She was prompt and responsive, fielding all my questions and went above and beyond in the communication department.

On the day of my wedding, Gina did my hair and makeup, and I have never felt more beautiful, or more like myself. Gina took all my reference images, and absolutely gave me a look I loved. My hair and makeup looked flawless all day and night, and it was exactly the modern look I was after. She has a sophisticated eye and talent that is truly out of this world, and her warm conversation and demeanor on the morning of the wedding was so appreciated.

I also want to note that I appreciated how seriously Wide Eyed Bride took COVID-19 precautions. Gina wore a mask the whole time she was doing my hair and makeup, and I really appreciated the way that safety was a top priority, as it was important to me as well.

Thank you Wide Eyed Bride for making me feel beautiful on my wedding day. I am SO thrilled I got to work with you!

Editorial experts who come to you

Wide Eyed Bride was the perfect solution for my wedding day hair and makeup needs! I needed a vendor who could accommodate 8 women and was really looking for artists who could come to us rather than going to a salon. I was so impressed with Wide Eyed Bride because all their artists have editorial experience, which really makes them stand out. We worked with Sara for hair and Joseph for makeup and they were absolutely wonderful! I felt so beautiful on my wedding day, thanks to them!

Bride's worst nightmare

EDIT: After I posted this review, WEB finally gave me a refund of the total minus the nonrefundable deposit. Once I sent them an email acknowledging the refund and offering to take the review down, they then proceeded to LOOK ME UP ONLINE and LOCATED MY PROFESSION AND MY EMPLOYER, saying that they "have all been in the [my] industry for 20 years." Horrifying!
TL;DR: Hair & Makeup Artist cancels on me 8 DAYS before my wedding; company refused to refund me ANYTHING after I’d paid in full, saying I needed to accept replacement service from a man I might not meet until the DAY OF MY WEDDING; gaslighting, victim blaming, harassment (refusal to stop contacting me)
8 days before my wedding, I find out that the hair & makeup artist I had booked months in advance was suddenly canceling. I’m panicked and deeply upset as feeling pretty on my wedding day and feeling confident in my plan/schedule on my wedding day were both very high priorities for me. The company says they have another artist available on the day of my wedding BUT CAN'T COMMIT to offering a trial. I’m told that I might get a trial if this man happens to be able to move his schedule around to get into the area to do one, but that’s it. However, he doesn’t live in my state, so it is very unlikely. I don't find this acceptable, as I don't want to roll the dice on a person I may never meet until the day of my wedding.
Having no other choice than to go with a replacement I had never met without a trial ahead of time, I decide to move forward with another company (THANK GOD I’m able to find a last minute replacement, as again, this was 8 DAYS before my wedding). I tell WEB, but they REFUSE to pay me anything. They literally tell me that, by the terms of their contract, I have no choice but to work with this guy who is NOT the artist I worked with. Whether that’s legally accurate or not, I think it's completely unacceptable. They clearly understood the importance of knowing the artist you’re working with ahead of time—that’s the purpose of the trial.
Our emails have been an absolute nightmare. They were completely unwilling to budge—I had to accept substitute service or lose all of my money, even beyond the deposit. They said they wouldn’t pay my money back because it had already been spent on the and—I thought this was particularly bizarre—they shouldn’t have to give refunds since they don’t have VC money? They spent a large amount of time in the emails trying to manipulate me into letting it go because they were a small business, as well as trying to fixate on small details of my experience, rather than the overall nightmare.
At a certain point, I had had enough. I made my position clear, and they had done the same. I wanted to put this awful chapter behind me and even though I hated the idea of them keeping my money, my fiancé convinced me it was worth it just to put this ugliness behind us. So I clearly tell them to stop contacting me. They refuse to do so. I respond to say that, by continuing to contact me after I had asked to stop, they were harassing me. EVEN THEN, they continued to contact me—AFTER I HAD SAID I CONSIDERED IT HARASSMENT!
I know that they have a number of positive reviews on other platforms. It seems like my experience was potentially an outlier. But if it happened to me, it could happen to you. I so wish I had never heard of this company. I will never work with them again and cannot recommend anyone else do so. I deeply regret ever getting involved with them.
