Working with this wedding planner was one of the worst experiences ever. In the first interview I asked her if she was ok with low-budget weddings and DIY. She said definitely. Long story short she was a disaster at the wedding. She only brought 1 assistant when she said she would have 2. She barely did ANYTHING at the wedding. I obviously was not in close contact with her with set up and everything, but i heard from so many family members and even other vendors that she was terrible. Everyone said when they asked the planner what to do here or what needs to go there or anything she would say “i don’t know” and just stand around while everyone else was hustling. My sister-in-law who is a professional caterer and has done many weddings ended up doing just about everything for the wedding. I even had the vendors stop communicating with the planner and just talk to my sister-in-law. At times people would come up to me asking me what to do because the planner was no where to be found. The helper that i hired came up to me and asked if we should be serving dinner now (planner nowhere to be found!). The photographer asked me if it was time to do dancing (again she couldn’t find the planner) Even after the wedding I called the caterer to settle our bill and he said “what was with your wedding planner? I’ve been catering weddings for 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like that. She didn’t want to do anything.” I kept hearing from vendors that the planner should be doing this stuff and she's not.
As if all that wasn’t bad enough, the planner had the nerve to email me 2 days after the wedding to tell me that my sister-in-law was rude and got in her way so much so that she wasn’t able to do her job. If it wasn’t for my sister-in-law nothing would have gotten done. Anyway, the whole experience with this planner was a nightmare and really ruined the experience of my wedding for me. I just hope that no one else has to go through what i went through on my wedding day.
