Couples can choose the historic venue of Lemp Mansion to host their wedding in Saint Louis, Missouri. The pet-friendly venue was once home to the Lemp family, who made their fortune as some of the first brewers in Saint Louis. The 33-room mansion was already impressive when bought, but William J. Lemp turned it into a true Victorian showplace using his brewery fortune. Now, the mansion offers exceptional dining, overnight accommodations, and event space for couples and their guests.
Facilities and Capacity
The venue allows couples spaces such as the gazebo and patio, grand hall, or Lemp’s loft to hold their wedding ceremony, reception, bridal shower, engagement party, or rehearsal dinner. The gazebo and patio make up a large, private area surrounded by black wrought-iron fencing, perfect for a ceremony, reception, or both. Couples may choose to pair the gazebo space with the tented patio to create a sophisticated, secluded garden setting. Lemp’s Grand Hall features original hard maple floors, large bar, historic decor, and a deck that overlooks the Lemp Brewery. Lemp’s loft is a unique, historic space that used to be the hayloft for Percheron horses, and has been renovated to accommodate private special occasions. Couples may invite up to 275 of their closest friends and family, who may use the venue’s parking and wheelchair access when attending the event.
Lemp Mansion is covered by liability insurance for each of their events, and can assist couples by providing an event planner as well as all-inclusive packages for their occasion. Venue staff is on hand to help set up and clean up, while the wedding party dresses in their own private get-ready rooms. While they can provide catering, Lemp Mansion does allow couples to bring their own outside vendors for particular wedding needs, such as florals, outside cake, or photography.
The catering team at Lemp Mansion can assist couples with their reception, cocktail reception, dessert, hors d’oeuvres, and bar needs through their experienced and capable staff. Couples can choose to serve from buffet, family-style, plated, or station serving options after deciding their menu through a tasting. Items such as chairs, tables, barware, china, flatware, glassware, and linens are also available. The venue holds a liquor license, and bartenders may serve from behind an open, cash, or limited bar. Beverages they can offer to guests include:
Once home to the wealthy Lemp family, couples and their guests may book the mansion’s well-appointed and exquisitely decorated rooms to stay in overnight. Rooms include the Lavender Suite, William Suite, Elsa Suite, or the two-room Louis and Frederick Suite.

Beautiful and Stress Free
I got married October 5th -- Ceremony & Reception were at the Patio & Gazebo.Sent on 10/25/2019
I thought that it was beautifully set up and we were able to put up our own lighting and decorations, so it was nice to add a personal touch. I was glad to get the wedding I always dreamed of -- having wanted an outdoor one for years, but always concerned about weather (no need to be with a gazebo and a tent!). Everything ran smoothly.
All of my guests are still reeling about the food and how beautiful the grounds were. I cannot stress enough that their buffet options are delicious and prepared amazingly. They were willing to work my lactose intolerance and made food on the side for me and let me know what I could and couldn't consume -- or what they could do to modify it. Also, we had a few guests that were vegan and they accommodated them -- as well! I thought that was lovely and I know most venues won't let you veer off your menu, but I made sure to let them know in plenty of time to see what I could do.
During my process Patty was easy to work with and I appreciated her upfront and no-nonsense demeanor. She wasn't going to steer me wrong. Reponse time was what I expected, a bit more in the beginning (as I was 1yr+ out from my wedding when I started) and as it got closer and closer to the date -- they came quicker. That's what I expected, but my questions would never go more than a week being unanswered in the beginning and I knew other brides were priority and I was completely understanding; she never made me feel that way, though. I asked tons of questions over the months leading up and even if I repeated myself, she never said 'refer to what I already said' -- she was happy to reanswer. It was hard to keep up with everything I'd already inquired about, so I was happy to not feel like I was a broken record (even when I might have been, on accident). She really takes the time to make you happy, but you have to tell her what your expectations are and what you can do; no one is a mind reader and you don't know unless you ask!
Ultimately, I would completely recommend the Lemp Patio & Gazebo to anyone wanting a Ceremony/Reception or just one/the other. The other venues that the Lemp had were just as beautiful, but with a smaller wedding -- I was happy with what I chose.

Everything was so simple!
Patty at Lemp made my reception a breeze. They cater, provide alcohol, all tables + chairs, etc (for a price obviously, but it was so nice not to have to coordinate with multiple people). And everything ran so smoothly the night of. Patty was very accommodating and it was great having two hotel rooms a step away from the reception to get ready and hang out in during the long day. I wanted photos so badly inside Lemp and was able to do it, they turned out great. I had my reception at the gazebo and received so many compliments, it is such a beautiful space.Sent on 08/29/2019
