Lauryl is AMAZING. Honestly, I cannot recommend her highly enough. Our wedding flowers were everything I wanted and then some. Lauryl was also a total pleasure to work with. She's super fun and makes the floral design part of wedding planning really exciting. Before your consultation, Lauryl has you fill out a form with information about yourself and what you want your wedding décor to look like. That form is great--it really helped me formulate, in words, a vision for my wedding florals. She gives you a long list of descriptive adjectives, and has you check off ones that fit your wedding. I gave her adjectives like "rustic," "vintage," "eclectic," "magical," "romantic," "delicate," "playful," "candelit." My list went on and on. I had particular flowers and elements that I wanted, but more than anything I wanted the flowers to evoke a certain feeling, and Lauryl got to the bottom of that very quickly. Lauryl included every single one of the elements I requested (including birch containers, blue and clear mason jars, vintage-looking bird cages, milk glass vases from her own collection, moss, etc.) and the particular flowers I requested. More than that though, she created a dreamy floral wonderland that evoked exactly the feeling I had in mind, in a manner that was ten times more gorgeous than anything I had envisioned.
I wanted to be very involved in the creative process of my wedding décor, so I emailed Lauryl frequently with all sorts of questions and ideas. While some vendors may have been unreceptive, Lauryl was unfailingly encouraging and wonderful, turning what could have been a stressful part of wedding planning into a complete joy. For example, I wanted to make all of the escort cards and table numbers out of fabric and cardstock. Lauryl worked with me to ensure that they were a cohesive part of the tablescapes. She had me send completed table numbers to her, and she found the perfect birch cardholders to display them, complementing both the items that I made and the rest of the table decor. She also kept me involved in decisions and had terrific ideas. I felt that she very quickly understood what I liked, and she knew how to execute it perfectly. For example, at one point I suggested reusing the arrangements from our ceremony by putting them on the stage at the reception. She suggested lining the stage in mason jars filled with moss and votives, with the ceremony arrangements interspersed between them. So brilliant! It was beautiful, and totally my taste.
Throughout the planning process, I quickly came to have the utmost respect for Lauryl and I trusted her completely to make design choices and create beautiful florals for our wedding. Despite my very high expectations, I was STILL blown away by how gorgeous everything she touched was. She managed to fill all of my requests, keep me involved and in the process, and create ceremony and reception florals that were 100% me, all the while maintaining her own artistic vision and making everything so much prettier than I could have imagined. She is an incredible talent. I recommend her without hesitation.
