We hired Laura for our Estes Park, CO destination wedding. We live in Houston, and even though there were plenty of wedding photographers available in Colorado, none of them captured the vibe, the liveliness, and the stunning use of natural light I saw in Laura's work. I knew I had to ask her to to be our wedding photographer. From the beginning, Laura took her time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple. She suggested we meet just to get to know each other.
Not only is she a delightful person who puts you at ease, but it's very clear she cares about who she is photographing and what they're about. Throughout the entire wedding process, she checked in regularly and maintained both a professional and a personal touch. We also did a couple's shoot in Rocky Mountain National Park two days before the wedding. Laura researched all the best viewpoints, gave us options, and even went to the specific spots the day before at the same time as our photo shoot the next day to check lighting in each spot. She was so detail oriented, and both her pictures from that shoot and our wedding are stunning. Even our guests have raved about her work. None of the picture were overly posed for forced, she captured everything in an airy and romantic light, and she really caught the best candid and spontaneous moments--she captured the life behind the whole weekend. I can't say enough about Laura's work or how she brings out the best in her subjects. We will definitely ask her to capture all our life milestones from now on.

We had a destination wedding at Mercury Hall in Austin. Laura went above and beyond and the pictures all came back amazing. She captured every moment beautifully. Everyone in the wedding party felt comfortable with her and she was really able to capture their personality. Nothing seemed forced or stiff! She is also an expert at getting the nice light. I can’t say enough good things. Laura and her team are the best.

I have always dreaded having my picture taken. In fact, if it had been up to me, I probably wouldn’t have hired a wedding photographer at all. Thank goodness that decision wasn’t mine alone to make! I luckily found Laura through a friend who recommended her. We met and I knew she would be perfect. She immediately dispelled my “picture-taking anxiety” and offered an extra engagement photo session to help ease my discomfort. She asked a lot of questions, which I remember being surprised by, but she genuinely just wanted to get to know me as a person and us as a couple. Every year on our anniversary my husband and I read through our ceremony and look at the beautiful photographs Laura took. Choosing Laura as our wedding photographer was about the best decision we made in the whole planning process - and, if you're in the thick of wedding planning, you know how many decisions that is. Laura created a breathtaking array of images to memorialize everything from the big to the small. We are still captivated by the quiet moments of grace and beauty that she captured, because all we can remember ourselves is trying to get the day to go smoothly. Laura's turn around time for our album was incredibly fast, without sacrificing quality or our satisfaction, and she was both extremely professional and fun, even when we encountered unscheduled setbacks. We are so incredibly grateful to have have found Laura Sponaugle, a wedding photographer beyond our greatest expectations! First of all, we were married in Los Cabos, Mexico, so finding a photographer willing to come to our destination wedding was crucial. Laura was more than happy to travel for our wedding and has vast experience with traveling for professional purposes. No only will she travel (thank goodness!), but she is a truly talented photographer! Laura has the eye for finding the most visually aesthetic surroundings for more artistic images. She also has impeccable timing for capturing moments for authentic human expression. Having the ability to do both is a true gift! After looking through all of our wedding photos we are so amazed by her use of light and the visual range from all of the photos. She captured some of the most intimate images as well as the most fun scenes at the party. As a couple we are very detail oriented and provided very specific needs for what wanted for our pictures. Laura executed all of our desires and worked beyond or expectations to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. She complied with all of our requests and shared her professional input which was very helpful. Also, Laura encouraged us to do a full photo shoot after the wedding (most choose before, but we had ours later) where we were able to take our time in different settings and have a more relaxed “trash the dress” wedding shoot on the beach. We are so happy that we did this! Some of the pictures from this shoot are the most beautiful and artsy photos that we have. The day of the wedding is so busy and it’s so important to capture beautiful portraits for your photo collection.

Truly though, we love all of the photos and have had so many compliments on the incredible quality of the wedding photography! In addition to being a phenomenal photographer, Laura is very easy going and takes her job with stride. Organizing groups of people to take photos on wedding days is no easy task and Laura works with a calm professional ease. She has a great personality and we are happy to call her our friend!! Laura is an incredible photographer and incredible person! Back in March 2019, my wife and I had two wedding ceremonies (big Indian wedding and a smaller hipster wedding) since we have a large group of great friends not able to travel to the Indian wedding spot. We ranked 11 different photographers and found Laura’s ability to adapt to different wedding ambiances and themes top notch. We wanted a lot of ‘pop’ since our wedding was really colorful, and Laura was perfect.

Before the wedding, Laura called us before talking about pricing and logistics just to get to know us personally and our story. She was the only one that did that among photographers on our list and one of the few among all wedding vendors we booked. I think it really helped her get the right shots matching our personalities to the photos. Her pricing is excellent especially for the amount of work she puts in.

Our engagement shoot was great. She planned it out perfectly to get the right scenery with the natural light. It was a long day, but she made sure we were energized with enough breaks and coffee.

The day of the ceremonies, she and her team were extremely well coordinated with all of the vendors. They were super-efficient getting portraits in before and after without feeling rushed. I think most important of all is she and her team were a blast to work with!

After the festivities, she sent us a small batch of photos immediately to share with the family and the big album about 2 months later which is quicker than we expected!

Laura is now our family photographer for pretty much everything!

We just received our photos from Laura, and we could not be happier!! The photos are amazing. We were sweating buckets since it was a hot summer day, but you can’t even tell in the photos. The photo quality is awesome, and our photos look like they’re from a magazine. Laura and Steven really captured a lot of the day’s best moments and were definitely fun to work with.
