BOOK KATY. She not only took the most wonderful wedding photos, but was so fun to work with. The energy she brings is exactly what you want on your wedding day. Every single guest at our 64 person wedding mentioned how fantastic our photographer was.
As a couple, we generally don’t like taking pictures as we feel awkward most of the time. (What do I do with my hands?!)
Katy made us feel so comfortable, but was also able to give us the instruction we needed to get the best possible photos. The candids are phenomenal, the dance photos are spectacular. All the photos are incredible, we look incredible in them- and it’s 100% because of Katy.
Our wedding day was shot in the most beautiful way, with photos that match how we felt - magical. The turn around time was unbelievably quick, and the amount of photos is amazing.

I thought I'd write this review immediately after my wedding. I always love scrolling through Instagram and seeing another sneak peek from another gorgeous wedding Katy has just photographed and then days later she would post a darling, eloquently written review by the couple. This always made me smile because I could feel the joy and appreciation in their kind words and Katy deserves every accolade! Alas, here I am, almost four months since the unforgettable weekend Katy spent documenting the love my husband and I share. Just like this untimely review, when planning a wedding it's important to remember that not everything will go exactly to plan, and that's ok!

Katy taught Charles and I to drink in the salty negative ions at the beach, laugh about the late guests, lean in to the feelings of the here and now, share secrets about future heartbeats, cherish fleeting moments with friends, and mutually gush about how much we love this little piece of heaven we call home.

Katy is so much more than an experienced professional and creative wedding photographer (although she is definitely those things too). We are SO happy we found Katy! We hired her for our wedding this summer in Black Butte and we couldn't be happier. Look no further! Hiring Katy to capture our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. Leading up to the wedding, Katy conveyed genuine interest in our individual experience, e.g., asking details about our love story and offering to talk on the phone multiple times to work out details and answer any questions I had. I also loved referring to her blog to see example timelines, advice, etc. On wedding day, Katy was kind, efficient, professional, and innovative. She was so good at quickly going through photo lists such that people didn't sit around for too long or anything. We spent a very minimal amount of time on posed photos, which was absolutely perfect, as Katy caught so many special candid moments. She also got to know everyone pretty quickly such that she was always there to notice and capture little key exchanges. One thing I know Katy will offer to anyone is capitalizing on the positive uniqueness of your wedding, running with that, and not comparing to tradition, what "usually" happens, etc. She was so present for what we were doing and what felt right to us. This is so evident in the photos, which I will let speak for themselves. I cannot wait to have them on our walls forever. I could go on and on. Thank you, Katy!

Katy is soooooooo talented and I’m obsessed with my photos. Let me tell ya, as someone who doesn’t know what to do when it comes to being in front of a camera, I felt so comfortable with Katy and was able to relax and enjoy the process. She has a great eye for incredible shots that I never would have thought of and I am beyond happy with the end result (as proof her photos are hanging throughout my house). Thank you Katy for capturing memories that now I can have with me forever, you are so talented. Seriously, if you haven’t already booked her, do it. You won’t regret it!

Katy is absolutely AMAZING! She truly wants to get to know all of her clients and makes sure that she understands what we want out of our photos. How we picked Katy is actually pretty funny- my (now) husband and I had a list of photographers that we looked at separately and we each picked our favorite without hearing the other person's opinion. We both picked Katy! Her photos stood out to us- they're moody and romantic and she captures so many amazing candid photos! My husband and I live in Arizona and got married in Oregon so we were doing a lot of planning from far away. Katy was super easy to work with even though we were far away! When we visited Oregon in March she met up with us and we chatted over a beer so she could get to know us a little better. She had flown home late the night before and had a mild cold but she knew that would be the only opportunity to meet us before the wedding so she pushed through and met with us anyway! That is dedication. Katy was also SO great the day of the wedding. We were running behind all day but she moved quickly and got everyone to focus and get pictures done, which is SO impressive with the number of people there were to keep in line. Katy is an extremely happy and patient person and those are AMAZING qualities in a wedding photographer- she didn't seem bothered or rushed at all during the day (I felt extremely rushed and stressed all day so her calmness helped me stay a little calmer). She got SO many pictures of the wedding and was literally everywhere, capturing all of the cute and funny moments that happened. We were amazed at how much she was running around and how she seemed to know when something worth capturing would be happening because she was ALWAYS there! She got sneak-peek photos (almost 300) to us by 1pm the next day that she picked out and edited super quickly! We were amazed at those photos and cannot wait to see the rest of them when she's done (there are over 5,000 moments from the day, which is INSANE). We HIGHLY recommend Katy for photographing any big-life moments. She is an incredible person and photographer and I guarantee you, you will NOT be disappointed!

We've worked with Katy twice now (couples photos a few years ago and now engagement photos), and I can't recommend her enough! She helps make you feel comfortable in front of the camera and provides just the right amount of guidance. She's always up for an adventure, and she makes the photoshoot fun! I can't stop looking at our pictures, and I have gotten so many compliments on them.

Katy Weaver is beyond words incredible! Here are the things I love about Katy:

1. Her incredible eye/talent with her camera: we live in Chicago and despite throwing her into a whole new environment to shoot in (including some indoor photos) she was able to on the fly assess the scene for the perfect lighting/backdrop. It was a horrible day with rain and clouds, but that didn’t matter—Katy was able to find the perfect time to go out to Lake Michigan and get some incredible shots (some of the best I’ve seen of the lake even).

2. Her personality: from our first phone chat I felt like we were already friends! She is so easy to talk to and really put us at ease (which helps with normally awkward couples like us!). She knew just how to get us relaxed and really have fun!

3. Her professional skills: Katy is incredibly responsive to all forms of contact and super fast and efficient at getting her edits done. She even got them to us before we wanted them! Also she is super serious about her work and walked us through all the ways she would keep our photos safe and backed up.

Overall if you are considering her DO IT! She is amazing and we love working with her!

Not only did Katy document our wedding in Cuba but she documented the entire full day trip. She made us both feel so much more comfortable in front of the camera --yet still comfortable being ourselves. Katy has great attention to detail and intuition when it comes to lighting, location, etc. We could not have asked for a better photographer and I know these memories will be ones we cherish forever.
