Katie was an integral part of our special day and she demonstrated consummate care and professionalism from the moment we booked her for our wedding. I really appreciated that she took the time to get to know me and my husband on a personal level, which definitely helped on the actual wedding day. You can tell Katie and her husband become invested in the couples they photograph. She was timely in the delivery of the photos for both our engagement and wedding, and provided "sneak-peeks" immediately afterwards so we had something to see. We were really looking for a photographer who was comfortable in the desert environment and it was an absolute bonus that Katie lives in that area. She was able to suggest a great location for engagement photos (windmills) and knew about factors that could affect the wedding day (climate, what time the sun would set behind the mountains, etc).

Katie was so easy to have around on the actual day, she captured many special moments shared between our family and friends and never felt in the way. We were especially impressed with how she utilized natural light in the photos. We were so pleased with Katie McGihon Photography and could not recommend her more highly.

To any couples on the fence, just go with Katie and you won't regret a single thing. Katie and Scott are two of the most wonderful people you will work with. They are easy going, fun, and just make things work. The experience shared between the two photographers shows in their work and who they are. You feel as you are part of their lives when they will be part of yours. If I had to sum it up, it was their work that helped me realized, "wow, I'm married" because that day will just fly by, but these two will be there to capture it all for you to let you and your special one relive that small fragment of time for the rest of your lives.

Katie was so easy and professional, she takes pride in her work and it shows! I've been OBSESSED with our photos, she tells a beautiful story. She is open to ideas and has so many beautiful ideas of her own, we put all our trust in her and we couldn't be more happy!

Katie and Scott were wonderful to work with on our wedding day! They knew exactly what they were doing and all the right shots for us as a couple as well as our bridal party and family! Their talent shines through in all of our photos. I had never met Katie and Scott in person until our actual wedding day but it was like we had known each other for months. We received numerous compliments about Katie and Scott from everyone at our wedding! They truly captured this day perfectly- so much love, joy and happiness! I could not be happier with my decision to book Katie and Scott... They are an unbelievable duo!!

I had my eye on KMP a year before I was even engaged. I loved her style, the fact that she incorporates some film photography, and (from instagram, her blog, etc.) she seemed friendly and easy going. My goal with our wedding was to hire vendors that were talented but also extremely kind and patient because I tend to lean on others when I am stressed and I'm very sensitive to other people's emotions. Katie and Scott turned out to be the perfect choice for us! They were so kind, patient and thoughtful. They worked independently, so I didn't have to take charge of anything that day. When I was trying to change into my dress, my crumby venue coordinator was a witch and gave so much attitude about us closing off a hallway so that people would stop walking in on naked me. Fearless Katie made no apologies for sticking up for me and making sure I was comfortable. She managed to wrangle my crazy family together for pictures, captured my ring bearer being perfect, and snuck us out during the reception to get a photo I really wanted in front of our church when the lighting was more agreeable.

Economically, my priority was to spend more on a photographer because I know that a good photographer can make any wedding look amazing. My wedding cost $16,000, but you'd never guess it from the pictures. Furthermore, I liked the a la carte pricing model so that we could make it work for our budget.

We'd hire KMP again in a heartbeat and have already recommended them to our friends.

We love Katie and Scott! Once we confirmed that our wedding would be held at the Ace in Palm Springs, our next step was to book KMP. I had seen their work for other weddings and fell in love with the lighting and the fact that all of Katie's brides look gorgeous in their photos. Katie and her team came to our welcome party, made everyone feel really comfortable in front of the camera, and captured some great shots of our friends and family. She really blew us away at the wedding, though! From the moment she and Scott arrived, her artistry was evident. She captured every detail, and prepped me to see my future husband for our first look. Katie and Scott walked us through the first look in such a delicate and loving way. It was so special for us!
We got some sneak peeks at a few shots and were blown away! They helped us pose in a way that felt (and looked) so, so natural and lovely.
They were there to capture every aspect of the ceremony and reception. Though we haven't seen the final photos, we're confident that they are going to be FANTASTIC.
It made a real impact for us to work with a husband and wife team. They were really fun to be around, worked incredibly well as a team, and put both of us at ease throughout the event. They're adorable together and compliment each other's styles, for sure!
Love that they shot both digital and film, too!! Their passion and kindness shone through every aspect of the day, and we felt like we were their professional priority on the day of and in all communication leading up to the event. Highly, highly recommend!

We could not be more thrilled at the quality of our engagement and wedding photos that were taken by the so-very-talented-and-awesome, Katie and Scott McGihon. They made us feel so special and comfortable throughout the entire process, which made our photos come out so well and so true to our relationship and individual characters.

They also did the most amazing job on our wedding day, even with a time crunch due to unforeseen circumstances - from our small time window, me being frazzled, my groom being unusually emotional, and getting the focus and attention of our big family for a group shot, they handled it all like true champs. Even with all the chaos, they still managed to sneak Steve and I away from a few more shots and moments alone to take in the final moments before our ceremony.

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Katie McGihon Photography. I fell in love with her use of natural light from the images on her website and just knew we had to have her capture our big day. Aside from my groom, choosing Katie for our photography stands out as one of the best wedding decisions I made. Katie & Scott work so perfectly as a team and made each of us feel comfortable and confident throughout the day. Their mix of digital and film resulted in the most beautiful photos that felt timeless and romantic. Not only were the photos stunning, but they captured who we are as a couple - our personalities, our humor, and the little looks and touches that mean the most. Absolutely delightful to work with at our wedding! She was sweet and thoughtful and has a wonderful eye for perfect lighting. She dealt with family drama and overexcited picture-taking guests with ease and professionalism. The pictures we received from our wedding are stunning--put together with class and mailed to us after receiving a digital website of them all to preview. We got them in a timely manner, and she continued to stay in touch with us through the process. We have done additional photo shoots with Katie after our wedding because she's just that good! I also love that she and her husband work together to take the pictures and that they always take a picture with their clients before they leave!
