Kara was fantastic! She was flexible to work with and created a custom package that met our needs. Very professional and the photos turned out great. Our friends and family were also impressed. Definitely recommend Kara for pics in the Portland area.

Kara was an amazing photographer to work with for our wedding in Hawaii. My husband and I have never taken professional pictures before and she made us feel very comfortable by allowing us to be ourselves. Kara gave us time to reflect on our relationship before we started the photoshoot and she does an amazing job capturing "us" when we don't realize it. She was great at communicating with us while we were in San Diego planning a wedding in Hawaii and she was in San Francisco. I loved how she showed us a preview picture near the end of our wedding reception. Even without editing, the picture looked fabulous. I would definitely recommend her for any event, photoshoot, etc. We hope to work with her again in the future.

Kara was incredible! Throughout the entire time we had with her, she was perfectly there in the moment without feeling intrusive at all. Kara was there for our first look, family pictures, ceremony, and reception. We heard from multiple guests that they felt that she was capturing each person’s emotion without being in their face. We loved the candid as well as posed photos that she did for us, and she even snuck around and took photos of the scenery that I would never have thought would become special memories or moments for us. Kara was incredibly friendly, accommodating, welcoming, and overall, the best wedding photographer we could have asked for. In addition, she was super flexible with negotiating our contract and made the logistics side of things very comfortable as well. I would recommend her 100% without a doubt.

Kara took our wedding photos in Golden Gate Park and did a great job! We are very happy with the photos. She was punctual, took great photos, and got the photos to us quickly after the event. Also, her pricing was competitive and she knew a good videographer that we also hired. Highly recommend.

Kara captured beautiful moments at our wedding on a cliff overlooking the beach and our indoor restaurant reception last winter on Valentine's Day, 2014. It was so cool of her to climb that hill and join us on a holiday! Kara was so easy to work with. Our pics turned out beautiful--clear, vibrant, and natural. She made us feel comfortable, was never intrusive, and got great shots. Our family members even felt comfortable with Kara! We were so fortunate she was there to photograph such a special day.

Kara shot our wedding in Chicago on September 1, 2013. She did an amazing job! She is super professional but also so sweet. It was a pleasure working with her for the whole day.

She knew how to give people direction and was very diligent about making sure everyone looked amazing in each photo. She's very good about listening to suggestions and then taking it one step further. Especially when there are so many moving pieces and people to keep track of.

For example, my now-husband and I wanted to get a group shot after the ceremony...with all 130 guests! Our plan was to walk around the block alone to give Kara time to set the shot. We barely got to the gates of the garden when we were called back. I couldn't believe how quickly she organized everyone and she took charge immediately to get several great group shots which is hard to do with 130 peeps.

Plus, she was very prompt with the edited photos, which is awesome because it's hard to be patient after your wedding to see how the day turned out. She is truly great at offering a good range from traditional to artistic. I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. Highly recommend!

We were put in contact with Kara Cooper via another photographer who was already booked on our chosen day. Kara was responsive and professional from beginning to end, and was able to be with us as our photographer on a beautiful October day last fall. We had a small, simple and rustic venue on top of Mt Tamalpias and Kara was able to capture our wedding moments with a lovely mix of both traditional and none traditional shots. We found her to be completely non-invasive during the ceremony and most creative with some unusual pictures the expressed exactly who we are and the feeling we were sharing with our loved ones and friends on such a memorable day. We cherish a few really prized photos now hanging up to remind us with Kara's help what the entire event meant. We are sure that should you choose to use Kara for her services, you will be as pleased as we were.
