Julian and Badz couldn't be nicer to work with. Julian was always very responsive and went out of his way to work with us. We chose them because they offered the option of a Chinese speaking emcee. (This was important for 75% of the wedding guest.) They were to do the ceremony (outside at Yerba Buena Gardens) and reception (inside at Koi Palace). The day went off without a hitch as they seamlessly went from one location to the other.

I'd say it was pretty much how I hoped the day would go, except for some butchered names by the Chinese emcee. I'd recommend Julian Martin to anybody looking for a wedding DJ.

We knew we've found the right DJ the first time we met Julian. We have talked to many other DJ in personal interview and also attended seminars. Julian was different because he was really mentally and physically there with us when we described our ceremony and wedding ideas to him. He was very friendly and well organized. After exchanging more emails to coordinate after our first meeting, we met again for the second time in person a few weeks before the wedding. He patiently covered every detail with us again, and we worked hand in hand to finalize our wedding day schedule and music arrangement. We ran into some roadblocks with getting access to the place for equipment setup, and Julian pulled it off in the end. It would have been better if we had a chance to test the mic before the ceremony, because it wasn't placed right on the officiant so most of our guests didn't hear everything. But the reception went very smoothly, everyone had a great time, things were flowing nicely as planned, and he did an excellent job facilitating the night.

When we first met with Julian, he gave us a very nice demo of his equipment. It was totally unnecessary but it was very nice to meet him, his assistant, and the MC we specially requested. And while other vendors were trying to jack up the price because my wedding was near Christmas time, he lowered it for me because he said he wanted to keep his schedule filled. We worked on the song list mostly via e-mail. He was always very responsive. He even performed the song for our first dance live. Maybe he played a couple of songs I didn't care for but I didn't really care and the crowd was really into it.
