JFOD has built its reputation for exquisite food and impeccable service through our five years of extraordinary business. As your event partner, JFOD works on Menu Development and Culinary Styling, and will also guide you through a venue selection for your next event to make sure it has the perfect setting.
JFOD takes pride in buying locally grown organic foods, hormone and antibiotic free beef and poultry, recycling, and using biodegradable products. Giving back to the community and taking care of our planet is a serious concern of our business. Going green is not just a fashion, but also a necessary way of life in the 21st century, and we do this by offering organic local cuisine and humanely treated meats. Beyond the food, JFOD offers a variety of green services including green event planning, organic florist treatments, and biodegradable or wildflower invitations.

At an early age, our founder Jordan Spritz developed a profound respect for ingredients while working at a local farmer's market on Chicago's North Shore. In the fresh air, he studied produce seasonality and selection, heightening his respect for each individual ingredient.
From there, he took his first kitchen job at a private country club and developed his skills in catering large-scale events, upwards of 5000 guests. Pairing his love for cooking with knowledge of event planning from his uncle, Chuck Share, owner of the upscale Wedding Inc., Jordan found he could succeed in planning and catering large events with the feel of intimate fine dining.
Jordan linked up with Gordon's renowned chef, Don Yamaguchi, beginning the lessons that would refine his culinary capabilities. With a desire to continue his epicurean education, Jordan headed to the Culinary Institute of America in New York. There he polished his technique, style, and presentation among America's culinary new guard.
Returning after graduation to his hometown of Chicago, he worked at Le Francais and Charlie Trotter's while catering private parties on Chicago's North Shore for friends and family.
Jordan longed for a space of his own to plan and create intimate events. After stumbling upon a loft-like space, Jordan created a new style of private dining. This space includes a fully exposed show kitchen, no walls and an original 126-year-old wrought iron window separating the dining room and showing off the cleanliness of the dish area. The goal was to leave nothing to the imagination.
Today Jordan is owner and executive chef of Jordan's Food of Distinction.
