I am a photographer. This is what I do, day in and day out. I shoot what I enjoy, looking for environments and poses that interest me and fit the personality of my subject. I strive to be me, giving us the best chance of making you look like you. I feel that gaining the trust of my clients is as important as knowing my camera, since I am of the opinion that you cannot take a a good photograph, it’s either given to you, or it’s not.

It’s people that cause me to love photography, which is why you find my site full of faces, emotions, and moments, not landscapes. People truly fascinate and never cease to amaze me (for better or for worse). Photographing portraits and weddings is perfect… as long as there are people, I have source material.

EVERY PHOTOGRAPHER SAYS THEY LOVE WHAT THEY DO – I WANT TO PROVE IT WITH MY IMAGES.

Loved working with Jay!

We absolutely loved working with Jay, and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer (to capture the spirit of an event, or simply to capture a moment in your life). We invited him into our 2021 mini-ceremony, as well as our larger (~100 guest) 2022 ceremony. He brought a professionalism, yes, and also a kindness and calm to our days that we greatly appreciated. And, has documented some of our very favorite moments in a way that truly reflects us.

He was recommended to us by a dear friend, and we gladly pass that recommendation along.

Jay is absolutely WONDERFUL! He made every second of every shoot so much fun and he is beyond talented. He really takes the time to get to know you and really reflects who you are in each and every photo. It is amazing to see him bring out the best in people and I am so lucky to call him a friend. There are the good photographers.. and then there are the great ones..the ones you actually build a relationship with.. the ones that you want to photograph every special moment ..from weddings..to new babies... to graduations... we will definitely be using Jay as our family photographer! Thanks Jay!

Jay's work is incredible. When I first saw his photos, I told my fiancé that his work was the standard at which I wanted our wedding photos (we were getting married in Michigan, so I thought it would be unreasonable to think we could work with Jay). My friend (and a friend of Jay's) put us in contact with Jay, and when he said he was available for our wedding date and would be excited to photograph our wedding, we quickly moved forward to book him for our wedding. Not only is Jay's work so authentic, he is such an awesome, down-to-earth guy. Jay spent a lot of time getting to know my husband and I throughout the process, and when we met him for the first time (the day of the wedding), we felt like we were meeting up with a good friend. We had such a blast with Jay the day of the wedding, and he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our day as well. Thank you for making our day as fun and as awesome as we'd hoped it would be, Jay! Hope our paths cross again soon :)

Jay Eads work goes beyond words. It's simply breath taking. When planning my wedding photos were the most important piece. Jay took the time to know Kyle and I (via skype, we were planning remotely) and was very patient with my indecisiveness. He captured every emotional moment without ANY direction. I really can't say enough about how amazing Jay really is. I have received more compliments than I can even keep track of. If you are comparing, don't look any further. He is worth every dime and more. Your wedding photos is not something to leave up to chance, look at his work and your answer will be clear. Thank you Jay!

Above and Beyond!

Every wedding has a select few people who go above and beyond to make a difference. For us, Jay was one of those people. He was much more than a photographer--He was an absolute wealth of knowledge for all things wedding--I'm talking vendor recommendation, advice, tips, and tricks. He even showed us how to properly put on a boutonniere and fill out our marriage certificate. You simply can’t beat his experience of nearly 20 years.

We were so caught up in the moment and excitement of the big day. It’s a wonderful feeling to know and trust the person there documenting that for you.

Jay also provides an engagement shoot, which is wildly helpful. He really works with you to understand what you like, and don’t like. My husband has always been deathly afraid of photos. But with Jay, he’s built a trust that’s very evident. I have no doubt our wedding photos will turn out amazing, and perfectly curated to us.

Thank you, Jay!

Jay certainly takes beautiful photos, but we were disappointed by his poor communication. Our wedding was not at the height of wedding season and it took 3 months to see our photos. 10 months later we are still waiting for this photobook we were promised and emails go unanswered. He may be the ideal photographer for small, exotic weddings but if you are not eloping to the top of a mountain, do not expect him to be excited or invested. He is a talented photographer, but in my opinion not worth the steep price.

I would be apprehensive before doing business with Jay Eads. Here is my personal experience. At the end of the summer of 2012 I signed a contract with Jay Eads for my wedding in 2014. This contract was incredibly wordy and I felt I should have had an attorney present before I signed it. I was required to pay $1,300 down for his services. Our wedding plans changed and Jay was not available to photograph our wedding per our previous conversations. We received no engagement photos or wedding photos, so I contacted Jay and I asked him for either a refund or for the money to be transferred to a different session. He said the money was non refundable or transferable and would give me neither one. After this occurred, we offered him a 10% consideration and requested that he refund the rest to us. Now, in order to get our money back, we are going to have to go to small claims court to show that no services were ever provided to us. We gave him a year advance notice and Jay should be able to book the date since he is such a busy wedding photographer. He indicated to us that he had had two couples inquire about the date. He will be getting paid time and a half for our date which was August 2, 2014. We are a young couple just starting out and I am working my way through college. I feel very taken advantage of.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
