Our creative process starts by hand selecting a section from the tree log and, following its natural contour lines, cutting down to a rough shape; then carving and sanding smooth to its final form. Finally, a durable oil-urethane sealer is applied and hand-rubbed to a perfect satin sheen, revealing the special qualities of the wood… such as a swirling grain pattern or possibly an intricate gnarly knot to catch your attention. These 'imperfections' define the personality of the piece and you will catch yourself studying the intricacies of the grain pattern and admiring the texture of the carving marks left from the chisel.
