Jamie is an Oregon lifestyle photographer who is willing to travel. I first met her last summer when she photographed my best friend's wedding in Roseburg, Oregon. I thought Jamie was so personable and easy to work with, and I loved that she took control without being pushy. She obviously knew exactly what she was doing, and she made the wedding party photos a fun and easy experience.
When I began planning for my March 2012 wedding in Seattle I was totally overwhelmed by the options for photographers, not to mention the cost! One photographer quoted me an initial rate of more than $6,000! This was way over our budget, and we just don't know very much about photography so I felt completely lost. Then I remembered Jamie so I called to see if she was available and to inquire about her rates.
Not only did I already know that I loved working with Jamie, the photos she took of my friend's wedding were some of the best I have ever seen! So when she sent me her rates, which were extremely reasonable, I knew I had found a match. We signed a contract with Jamie for an all day "platinum" package that at the time was just $2,500. It included 400-500 images, a free engagement session, three press printed photo albums, and an edited CD of the high resolution images. She also didn't end up charging us extra for traveling to Seattle from Portland.
Jamie showed up on our wedding day (with an intern who also took photos!) and began taking photos at the hotel. She then followed us to Pike Place Market, Gasworks Park, and Georgetown for photos with the wedding party and our families. Once again Jamie was incredibly easy and fun to work with and I felt so comfortable spending the day with her. She even posted some initial photos on her blog THE NEXT MORNING! We got the rest of the images a couple months later (she ended up giving us over 1,000 photos!), and we absolutely LOVED the results. There isn't a thing we would have changed and Jamie captured all the special moments from our wedding day.
We couldn't find the time to do our engagement session prior to the wedding, so Jamie actually agreed to do it retroactively, and we're heading down to Portland in September for that. We're excited just to see Jamie and catch up.
We would definitely recommend Jamie Jones Photography to anyone seeking a professional, talented, personable photographer. She is also willing to travel, and since her rates are so reasonable paying any extra travel expenses would be well worth it. We definitely plan to use Jamie to capture all of life's future moments for our family!
