I cannot say enough good things about James and his backup photographer. They were responsive and sensitive to what we were looking for in a photographer. We hired our photographer before anyone else as we felt this was the most important part of our wedding, lasting art. We wanted documentary style photography and not as much posed. We loved James' style and couldn't be happier with the results. He uses more natural light to capture everything and very little post processing is needed. Our day was so stormy but cleared up for golden hour, he was able to capture us just absolutely glowing in the stormy light through the clouds.
He also easily managed our family personalities and got such beautiful snapshots of our daughter and beloved horses.
Turn around time for getting teasers and album was quick and he is reasonably priced.

Searching for a great photographer can be tough, and searching a photographer that can capture a surprise proposal in the wee hours of the morning is even tougher. I wasn't expecting to find James jumping at the opportunity as soon as the word 'surprise' rolled off the tongue. James isn't afraid to lay in the dirt, trudge through a river, or hide in the forest to capture the perfect shot. He's always looking to integrate your personal moment into the beautiful nature that surrounds you, and acts like a long lost friend between shoots and far thereafter.

James went far beyond expectations to capture our needs, provide his expert recommendations, and to be well prepared ahead of the shoot. We drove to the location having left any semblance of civilization (and cellphone signal) behind, and I felt 100% comfortable with James plan to meet us and capture an amazing, unfiltered moment. To this day our friends gasp with amazement at how beautiful and authentic our photos turned out, all thanks to James' unique eye and dedicated work ethic. I had such a hard time picking out a photographer. I looked at some of my friends photos from their wedding and they all look so contrived. I wanted someone who could capture every real feeling and every real moment of the most important day of my life! I felt so much pressure in picking. All I can say is James was the perfect choice.

James is an excellent and unique photographer that brought a beautiful cutting edge to our wedding photos! He was quick to call us back. When I saw his website and spoke to him on the phone I had 100% confidence in him to make our special day amazing - even without meeting him face to face! He was spontaneous, professional and in stealth mode to be everywhere and got amazing shots of us, our family & friends. You will not be disappointed in his brilliant photos! He loves what he does and it shows. To us he is the Da Vinci of photography!

If I had to do my wedding over again and could only do one thing the same it would be to use James as out photographer. We had a perfect day and he added so much to it. It's not all that often that you actually have your guests commenting on how amazing your photographer is, but we did! James is professional to the max, yet completely approachable. He was able to get our whole group organized without being bossy or brash (not an easy feat- we had a large bridal party!).

One of the things that we both really loved about his photography was the creativity. Instead of using the standard family portraits our pictures are very unique, yet every shot you could want is there. This made my husband very happy, he cant stand plain, standard issue photography, and he LOVED everything that James did. Our wedding pictures will really stand out! He even went out of his way to get extra pictures with our dog which we really wanted, but no surprise come the day of the wedding were running out of time for. I would hire James again in a heartbeat, he is professional, fresh and thorough. Could not have asked for more!

James did a great job capturing our day exactly as we'd hoped. We really liked his photojournalistic style and all of the candid photos. We took pictures in front of the Flatirons with our wedding party and they turned out amazing! I've had people tell me they were the most beautiful wedding photos they've ever seen. It did take 3 months to get our photos back, but James gave us a "sneak peak" of 60+ photos the week of the wedding, so that held us over until we got the rest back.
