I had less than 4 months from engagement to wedding so I needed invitations fast! But being a graphic designer and working in marketing the one thing about my wedding that I wanted to have a �WOW� effect was my invitations. To me it was like a launch kit to my wedding � it was the thing that would introduce all of my guests to what was to come � it sets the tone of your event. So I wanted a boxed invitation � I knew what I wanted but still need someone to inspire and execute. I visited a few local stationery stores including a chain store and was not pleased with the customer service. Then I happened upon Melissa of Hyland Designs and was extremely excited to work with her to create my invitations. Melissa also has a background in graphic design, like I do, and she was able to not only understand my vision but inspire it to be a better invitation. Once the invitations were sent out every single person called me to exclaim how amazing they were. I still get peoples comments about them 2 years later � they can�t believe how gorgeous they were (most people still have my invitation). Melissa created a beautiful autumn invitation in a box we added silk leaves, potpourri to give the guest the smell of autumn and bling jeweled glass to fill the box. Not only were the boxed invitations Melissa created for me were unique and magnificent but also within my budget. Melissa worked with me to make sure I stayed within the budget I had in the beginning and didn�t go a penny over.
To save money and since I am creative I wanted to create the rehearsal invitations, programs and signage for the wedding. Melissa helped me lay everything out so that it all matched so she'll also assist people who are looking to do DIY or semi-DIY projects as well.

My husband and I were so happy that we found Melissa at Hyland Creative Design. As soon as I met with her and saw her knew I wanted to book her for my wedding. Melissa is very talented and has incredible designs. We loved the invitations that she created for us and got tons of compliments on them. When we first got our sample, I couldn't stop looking at them! Melissa also created table numbers, seating cards, table numbers, programs, and our card box. She also ordered our favors and the wrapping for them for us. Everything she created meshed so beautifully with our colors!
I loved working with Melissa, she was one of my favorite vendors. She always took the time to meet with us and go through every aspect of the details that she was creating for us. She really went out of her way to make sure that we got everything we needed! Melissa really has a passion for her craft and it definitely comes out in her work.

Wow..is all I have to say about Hyland Creative Designs. I tried two other invitation places before deciding to try Hyland. I knew within five seconds that this is the place I wanted to get our wedding invitations. Every invitation displayed was gorgeous! I had no idea where to start. After meeting Melissa, I felt reassured that I didn't need to be worried at all and that she would help me with the process. She explained the process thourougly. She was so creative and just had the absolute best ideas. And the best part is our wedding invitation was so different and so reasonably priced! As soon as the invitations were sent out, I had all my friends calling to ask who Melissa was and what excuse they can use to book her! I was extremely happy with how easy everything was, and how smoothly everything went from the beginning of the process to the end product. Hyland Creative Designs is really a cut above the rest. I live in CA and Melissa lives in NJ, yet she made it easier for me to have the invites done than any other vendors I worked with locally. She created exactly what I was looking for based on our conversations, I was able to view everything via email (it was easy to see details, etc), and everything was done in a very timely manner. I was more than pleased with her work and I got an unbelievable amount of comments from my guests on how gorgeous the Save-the-dates and Invites were. Definitely a good choice!

Planning a wedding is so stressful but working with Melissa at Hyland Creative Design was the easiest part of our planning. She was extremely accommodating and was very interested in what kind of invitation I was looking for. While we met once, everything was done over email and by mail, which is great for me because I work full time and I did not live in NJ. For my invitation I wanted a flower that was hard to find in print, but Melissa never gave up on my vision for my invitations and found an artist that could draw the flower and then she designed the save the dates, invitations, programs, and place cards around the drawing. She also did our favors, which were so beautiful. All of our guests raved about how beautiful and unique our invitations were and it was all because of Melissa and her unbelievable creativity. She made the whole process enjoyable and accommodated my changes, if they were needed. I would recommended Hyland Creative Design to everyone! I wish I could give more then 5 stars!!!

We must admit that when we started our wedding planning process, invitations and paper products were at the very bottom of our list of priorities. It was not even on our radar until three and a half months before the wedding when our wedding planner suggested Hyland Creative Design. We had a Vietnamese and Italian-American wedding, so there were a lot of mixed cultural themes that we would have "liked" to incorporate into our invitations, but knew it would be really tricky. Within a few days, Mellisa Hyland found the most perfect design of an intertwined dragon and phoenix - the symbol of Vietnamese culture. She weaved this into our invitation so beautifully that even the most critical of guests from both sides of the family adored the invites (Vietnamese guests are THE pickiest!). They are truly works of art that she created. When we could not decide between gold or red invitations, she printed half gold and half red to help avert a pre-marital battle. With less than 3 weeks till the wedding we sprung it on Melissa that we wanted her to create the programs, menus, names cards, AND table numbers for the wedding. Not only did she execute this last minute request with the same artistic excellence as the invitations, she even hand delivered it to us the day before the wedding.

The invitations and all the products created were worth EVERY penny. The time and hassle Mellisa saved us all the while injecting so much of our personality and culture into her designs made this THE best Bang-for-your-Buck expense of our wedding. If we had to do it all over again, we would not change a single aspect of our invitation or the process we went through with Hyland Creative Design. The paper was of excellent quality and the shapes of the programs and menus were ones that guests had never seen before. Everything was so unique and so uniquely US. They were by far our favorite part of the wedding, go figure!

After looking through tons of those massive invitation books I felt like I wasn't finding anything that I really was excited to use as our wedding invitation. I found Melissa and after one evening she had focused my ideas and came up with a great design that I loved. Not only was the invitation beautiful (people still tell me how much they like it) but I also felt like I had a hand in helping choose the design so it was even more personal.
