My husband and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Christy Taketa from In Bloom Florals. She was recommended to us by friends that were getting married and it was the best choice we made when planning a wedding. From the start, Christy was friendly, helpful, organized, and super knowledgable about wedding vendors in Maui. She was easy to communicate with and I don’t think I ever waited longer than an hour before she got back to me with a response for the questions I had (and I had A LOT of questions). After talking with Christy a few times, I felt like I was planning my wedding with a good friend who just wanted me to have the best day ever. Every recommendation that Christy gave was spot on. She found us the perfect vendors to match our wedding. She went to bat for us if anything came up. Christy told us from the start that she had previously been contracted by another couple to plan their wedding on the same day as ours. However, during the planning process, I never would’ve known it. I felt like we were her only client and she was making it all happen for us. Christy has a very calming presence about her, which is perfect for a bride that needs to know every detail and wakes up at 4 am worrying about things falling through. Christy made me feel relaxed every time I talked to her.

On the day of our wedding, Christy was there at the beginning to make sure everything was set up and was there at the end of pick up all of the things we left behind. Because of the previous contract, Christy did have to be at another wedding for a few hours during ours. She left us in the hands of her assistant, Ed, who was also amazing. He was so calm and organized and he ran our wedding perfectly. There was never once that I was worried about anything once we were at the venue, except having a good time.

After the wedding, Christy was still just as helpful to make sure I got all of our stuff back and make sure all rentals were returned. If there is one thing about planning a wedding that I’ve told all of my engaged friends since — Hire a wedding planner because it makes things so much easier and Christy is definitely the best. Thank you so much, Christy, for absolutely everything.

Christy was not only an amazing day-of coordinator, she was also a remarkable florist. Planning a destination wedding is difficult enough so it was great to eliminate an additional vendor and put our trust in Christy. She went above and beyond to help me with any questions I had about the venue or additional vendors during my "shopping" process. I was really able to let go all of the wedding planning duties the week leading up to our big day because she was organized and communicative. Don't know what we would have done without her help through it all!

Christy was amazing to work with. We had booked everything online for our wedding and had never even seen our Venue (Olowalu Plantation). She was able to coordinate everything and keep us on point. She always reminded us when there were any details we needed to provide in put on. She also really took the lead on things that we were lost with. A lot of the time we went with her professional opinion on layouts etc. I think this was the best decision we made. By going with what she recommended - we literally had the perfect day. I wish I could go back and re-live that day. It was so awesome - and this is attributed directly to Christy. She worked so well with all of our vendors. Thanks so much Christy!

Christy was amazing! Our wedding was the best day and everything turned out beautifully! If it wasn't for Christy and her team - it wouldn't have been the same! Since the first contact, Christy was great - so easy to talk to, easy to work with - she would give lots of ideas and options (which was great to save money!). She is professional and creative and it showed through her floral arrangements to areas of the wedding!
I had Christy do our floral arrangements and they were stunning! From our bridal bouquets, to the centre pieces to a large tropical bouquet - they were amazing! I got so many comments about them all!
And she was our day-of coordinator. Which I feel she went above and beyond - she helped us with so many things, as were have never been from Maui and being from Canada - it is hard at times to plan from afar - but Christy made it easy and enjoyable!
I thank much lucky stars that I had Christy working on our wedding. I highly recommend her to anyone - for florals and coordinating - she is amazing at what she does! And a treat to be around!

Absolutely loved Christy. My husband's cousin recommended her and if you're wondering why she has other reviews that is because she is only by word of mouth.

Christy did SUCH an amazing job. Extremely attentive, extremely responsive and always, always willing to find a way to cut costs.

I loved her honesty in telling you what you need and don't need. I loved that she is always looking out for your financial well being.

Christy also does flowers and she did SUCH an amazing job. In fact, so many other brides have told how gorgeous my bouquet looked!

She is great at responding to my thousands of emails and is great at letting you know in advance if she will traveling, in case you need to reach her.

I would definitely recommend her! Oh! and even the day when I traveled there, she met me at my rental house, to drop off the things that I had mailed her in advance. Because she knew my family was with me and have never been to Maui, she took the time to make my center pieces and table numbers and table signs.

Christy Taketa was a delight to work with for our wedding day. She came to us highly recommended and since we needed someone who was locally on Maui where we wanted to get married, I figured to give her a call. Our initial conversation made a huge impression on us and we knew then that she was going to be our coordinator. We initially were looking to hire only a day-of coordinator but her price was very reasonable so we hired her for the planning and the day-of coordinating of our special day. She did an amazing job in making sure there was nothing to worry about even in the 2 month time frame we were dealing with. Her sweet personality, positive attitude, and her knowledge on event planning on Maui are truly outstanding. We felt very comfortable with her and she knew exactly what we envisioned while keeping us within budget. She not only planned & coordinated our wedding but she also created all the floral arrangements and bouquets for our wedding. They were gorgeous! The whole entire experience leading up to our "I do's" and until the end when we're hugging our guests "good night and good bye" could not have been any more fabulous.
