My fiancé (now wife) and I came across Trish from I Do, Too while searching for an officiant and we couldn’t be happier with our choice!! First, let me start with the fact that we are a same sex couple and we were specifically looking for someone to marry us who would not only agree to perform the ceremony (not all officiants will perform same sex marriages), but would do so HAPPILY without making us feel any different than any other couple—we found exactly that in Trish.

On her website there are many pictures of her officiating weddings, but I couldn’t help but notice a prominently displayed picture of her doing a lesbian wedding which really made us feel like she was truly all inclusive and catered to everyone. After emailing back and forth, she set up a time to speak to both of us on the phone and get to know our story and US—as people. We really felt like she CARED about us and that this wasn’t just a job for her, but something that she enjoyed and loved doing. She was so helpful in the planning process by sending us sample passages of readings, poems, and different versions of vows that we could read through and select our favorites. I enjoyed that it wasn’t just a simple “one-size-for-all” wording used during the ceremony and I liked having a little say and choice in what she would say during the ceremony. Although, if you prefer a more hands-off approach, Trish is more than capable to handle the wording on her own—I just preferred to be very involved in the process.

As for the ceremony itself, Trish was a lot of fun! We had a rather strange request for Trish during the ceremony which was to hold up and present a pair of handcuffs to our friends and families which we then used to handcuff ourselves to each other. Trish had no hesitation in agreeing to our special request and seemed to love the idea!

All in all, Trish was great to work with—She was prompt in replying to emails, had plenty of samples of vows and readings during the ceremony for her to read that we could pick and choose from, showed real interest in getting to know us and our story, and showed up early for the ceremony handled all the paperwork efficiently. She was incredibly professional yet relaxed and competent and I can’t recommend her enough. You really can’t go wrong with her, and it also was heartwarming to know that she offered a discount to military and first responders, which just goes to show how much she values people. Trish officiated our wedding and she was phenomenal. Very kind and caring and took the time to get to know us and learn about our story. Trish was my husband’s ex coworker and when he asked her to officiate our wedding she didn’t hesitate she said of course she would!!!!! From the moment she found out she was going to marry us she was on point with everything from the beginning to the end the whole ceremony when she sent it to me I pulled over because I was driving and I started to cry because it was so beautiful and perfect for us!!!! Trish did such a wonderful job and it was the first time I had met her but felt like I had known her for years…..
