Hilliard Art Museum is a contemporary and stylish venue located on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus. Close to Lafayette’s historic downtown, the museum strives to enrich the lives of Louisiana students and residents through visual arts. The venue offers both indoor and outdoor amenities that are ideal for hosting sophisticated wedding ceremonies, receptions and cocktail gatherings.

The A. Hays Town Building

offers three first-floor rooms, ideal for accommodating anywhere from 75 to 100 guests. First built in 1922, each indoor space provides an intimate atmosphere and elegant décor. There are two small lecture rooms, which have fireplaces and hardwood flooring. Each of these rooms can seat up to 24 people for a dinner. A third room features built-in bookcases and a fireplace, as well as cozy seating. When couples book the venue, they get access to all these spaces, giving guests a chance to mingle in a few different settings.

The second floor of the A. Hays Town Building contains a large room that’s ideal for a ceremony with theater-style seating. Up to 75 people can fit in this indoor space.

The Plaza and Grounds

is an optimal outdoor spot for ceremonies and receptions featuring a few hundred people. Combining the lush lawns outside of the A. Hays Town Building and the contemporary plaza, couples can wed in the modern space in front of the museum and then settle in for an evening celebration beneath an intimate tent. Decorated with soft white lighting, this sheltered space beneath the stars is located by the museum’s water well, giving it that extra touch of romance.
