Perfect for the DIY bride like me :) I heard so many compliments from our guest in regards to venue. They are very kid friendly, perfect for family style weddings. I'm not kidding you, unless you hire a wedding coordinator, prepare to do all the work, hence the DIY but the staff is quite accommodating in terms of vision and budget.Sent on 09/20/2018

First of all, I have to say that Tricia Claypool is my hero. I know a lot of women plan their weddings from the moment they see their first Disney princess movie. I was not that woman. I watched the Lion King and ran around "roaring." My then fiancé now husband was no better suited to the task of planning a wedding. We are a pretty laid back couple so the most stress was other people telling us how stressed we should be and what we would forget. We took note and tried to plan down to the last detail, but since neither of us have been married before, Tricia was a lifesaver. Making sure that people were where they needed to be and helping us out with the last minute details we overlooked. (Even donating the extra food to the homeless shelter [with our permission of course!] so that we didn't have to decide what to do with giant tubs of chicken and sweet potatoes in our hotel room!) The venue itself went above and beyond to clean everything and make sure that a place that usually hosts groups of 30 children looked like a place that does weddings every day. It is great to be able to be outside, but know that if weather doesn't cooperate there is a beautiful nature center with floor to ceiling windows can bring in the outside without having to be exposed to the elements. You can have the animals in the nature center relocated if they bother you, but my guests were thrilled that they could take photos with a snake at a wedding! It was also great the way everything is laid out so that guests with a dislike of reptiles or any of the other critters could stay in the reception room and never have to share space with them. For me, I love all the animals but I was excited that I could incorporate animals without having to worry about people with phobias feeling like they are on Fear Factor - Wedding Edition. If you're looking for a venue, this one is worth a look. Even if you don't get married here there are worse ways to spend a day than visiting the nature center!Sent on 07/10/2016
