Karey is absolutely a rock star when it comes to wedding photography! We first met Karey in person to do our engagement photo shoot, and she had such positive and fun energy and made us so comfortable. My husband and I are not the most natural in front of a camera but Karey guided us through a flow of movements and it was so easy. Our pictures on Mt. Diablo (her recommendation) turned out incredible! We had plenty of communication between then and the wedding to go over timing, family dynamics, and necessary shots.

When it came to the big day, Karey and her assistant were on time and ready to go with great energy. All of our wedding party and family were impressed with how efficient she was corralling the different groups and getting different poses completed. Our wedding day went SO smoothly and I attribute much of our ability to stay on time to Karey. We did not do a first look, and we are so pleased with how well the cocktail hour and sunset shots turned out, that we did not even miss that extra photo time. Karey was so on top of it that my husband and I even had time during cocktail hour to sneak away to have a few quiet minutes to ourselves.

Every time I spoke with a different wedding vendor to let them know who our photographer would be, we received responses like “OH Karey is amazing, we work so well together” which is a huge relief to hear while planning a wedding! She got us a sneak peak of our photos so fast while we were on our honeymoon, and the full set of pictures shortly after that. I cannot recommend her highly enough, thank you Karey!!

We hired Karey (Hazy Lane Studios) for our wedding day in August 2022. We had the complexity of three locations for our wedding day: where we were getting ready and did our first look (Lafayette Park Hotel), the ceremony (Saint Mary’s College of California chapel which is where my husband and I met for college), and the reception venue (Bridges Golf Club). We initially came across Hazy Lane Studios because Karey is a preferred vendor of Bridges. To me, this meant that she knew all the great shots at the reception venue and would provide valuable insight throughout the process.

She was so responsive during the planning process and helped finalize our timeline based on her experience. She was timely, efficient, and so awesome to work with on the wedding day. We couldn’t imagine our day being photographed by anyone else!

We got all our photos back right before 1 month after the wedding which is weeks earlier than we were expecting based on our contract. We pre-ordered an album and are so excited to work with Karey on it once we have decided on our favorite photos (there are so many!).

We also were pretty set early on with hiring Matter Video for videography. It was an added bonus that Dan from Matter Video spoke so highly of Karey, and that Karey spoke so highly of Dan and his team. It was a no brainer to hire both Karey and Matter Video. They worked so well together on the wedding day, just as we were expecting.

Karey is amazing! She is a preferred vendor at the Palm Event Center and I can see why. Her personality was clearly heard as we laughed throughout the first phone consultation. As an older bride with Kids and a husband that easily gets annoyed, I wanted a seasoned photographer that can take fabulous Photos without all the fuss so that we can all just have fun and enjoy the wedding. Karey knows how to take charge of situation so that she can capture the best shots. This helps especially since my husband hates taking photos and we have a foot and a half height difference between us. I knew she was the right choice after taking our engagement photos which came out wonderfully. We ended up arriving half an hour later than planned. So we were in a time crunch to take our first look and wedding party photos before my outdoor ceremony. We also only had an hour window after the ceremony to take family photos and romantic sunset photos. Karey took full charge, guiding my wedding party and family to perfect spots at the venue that she knew would have the best lighting at certain times. She never posed us but would direct us to move our arms. fix our hair, etc to capture wonderful shots. Karey had a strong sense of urgency to make sure she captured all the poses I requested. Our sneak peeks look amazing and I can’t wait to see the rest of her photos.

Karey is an all star. We feel so lucky to have had her capture all of the memories from our special day at The Bridges Golf Club on 1/19/19. From the beginning, Karey was always super responsive and communicative, which was very important to me and calming all of my anxiety when it came to planning our wedding.

We got the 8-hour package and used one of the hours for our engagement shoot on Mt. Diablo which was totally worth it. It helped us to get comfortable working with her before our big day.

Leading up to our wedding, Karey was super helpful with our timeline and planning all of the groups we wanted to get pictures with, which was tough because of my big family. On our wedding day, Karey showed up early, and the whole time kept us on schedule and knew exactly when and where to go to get all of the important pictures squeezed in to such a small time frame because of the early sunset in January. Our wedding was amazing, and having Karey as our photographer made the day go that much smoother and let us enjoy it without having to worry about anything.

After the wedding, Karey got our pictures back to us within the time frame she promised. The pictures turned out to be amazing and captured everything so perfectly. The photo book that she made for us is such a treasure.

If you are lucky enough to have Karey as your photographer you will not regret it. She is the best!

This review for Karey is SOOO long overdue. My husband and I got married in December 2017 and Karey was nothing short of A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. She got a million photos that I love - and that's hard to do when I'm the type that deletes almost every photo I'm in. She wrangled up our very large (some unruly) bridal party and made sure to get every picture in that we wanted. And the wedding album? GORGEOUS. She also did a spectacular job on our engagement pictures and made sure we felt natural in all our lovey dovey poses. I still can't choose my favorite photo. I would recommend Karey in a heartbeat. :)

Karey was my photographer for my September wedding and I cannot say enough good things about her! Every step of the way, she was so helpful, responsive, and fun! When we first met with her, she did a great job of laying out her different options and what is included so we could find a package that worked best for us. After we booked, she was great about checking in with us, and was able to answer any questions I had. She did our engagement photos and did such a great job, and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. We met up at my venue before the wedding and discussed all of the details about which photos I wanted, where I wanted photos taken, etc. The day of the wedding she was great! We had her, a second shooter, and an assistant. It was so nice having a whole team capturing the day. She got so many amazing shots, and we are in love with the photos! She seemed to be everywhere and we got so many great photos from our wedding day. She got us our photos back so quickly and we could easily share them with our family which was great. We also got a photo album from her and it is beautiful! Karey, thank you so much!!

Karey is worth her weight in gold as a wedding photographer. In my opinion, there are two things to look out for when booking a photographer - first, do they take good photos? Her work speaks for itself. Her style is soft and romantic, yet her attention to detail is stunning. Each photo has so many more layers to it than first meets the eye, and with 1,700 from our day to choose from, there was no element of the day that was missed.

Second, and most importantly, Karey is incredible to work with. Her experience and professionalism went SO FAR in planning for our wedding. I felt I could completely trust in her to do her job, which left me with one less thing to worry about on the big day. She was incredibly open to hearing about my style and preferences and got all of the shots I told her were important. She kept the wedding party and family in line, was quick and efficient, and made my husband and I feel so at ease during our couple photos. She had previously worked with my planner and videographers - and it was evident that they knew when to get in and out of eachothers way, and the final products were all the better for it.

Karey is an artist!! We used her for both our engagement shoot as well as our wedding and we were thrilled with the results. She was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. She is incredibly organized, which was vital to making the entire process run smoothly. Neither I or my husband are completely comfortable in front of the camera usually, but she made us both feel great, which made for excellent photos. Our engagement photos were gorgeous and I can't wait to see how our wedding pictures turn out.

I echo what all the other reviewers say about Karey. She is beyond fantastic and her work speaks for itself. Every photo is pure magic. She captures the emotion, romance and detail just perfectly. I hired Karey to take our wedding photos at SF City Hall and I can’t even put into words how beautiful every single photo is. I literally had THE hardest time narrowing down the photos for our album – I wanted them all!! The album is gorgeous and such beautiful high quality lay flat images – it’s a work of art in itself. Karey is professional, courteous, and is great at giving direction (which you need at a wedding!). Her fun, bubbly personality makes the photos that much better. And her laugh – oh my goodness, it’s the best. You have a grand old time taking photos, she definitely makes it the best experience! Karey was absolutely amazing! She was sweet and friendly while also being incredibly efficient. On our wedding day, she made sure we got all the photo combinations with family and friends fast enough so everyone could enjoy the party! When she was taking photos of just my husband and I she made us feel completely comfortable. She was a pleasure to work with leading up to and on the day of our wedding but what was truly incredible were the results of her work! Our photos are INCREDIBLE! She gave us so many wonderful ones to choose from that it was overwhelming. Not only that, but knowing that the holiday season was coming up and we would want to share the photos in gifts and cards, she created our gallery in half the time we were expecting!
