With a maximum of 30 guests, Hastings House Garden is a beautiful, uncovered outdoor wedding venue located in coastal Half Moon Bay, California. This venue is exclusively a ceremony only site. The garden area is a one-of-a-kind site that is the perfect location for both romantic and picturesque wedding ceremonies, elopements, and vow renewals. Hastings House Garden is situated right on the edge of the scenic Pacific Ocean in a private garden setting. You are filled with the beauty and scents of the garden, accented with sea breezes. Located overlooking the ocean and beach, Hastings House provides you with an intimate setting surrounded by coastal trees.
Facilities and Capacity
This classic and coastal-styled garden venue has a maximum capacity of about 30 guests. Their one event space is a unique Pacific Coast garden, the perfect place to hold a gorgeous ceremony. The garden is designed to bloom throughout the year in various colors, with peak bloom seasons in spring, summer, and fall. All year round, you can expect the gardens to be filled with lush greenery and flowering shrubs. The venue is so close to the ocean that you and your guests will enjoy the relaxing sound of crashing waves and songbirds throughout your stay.
Services Offered
Hastings House Garden provides their soon-to-be newlywed clients with personalized care from the owner, Linda (who is your planner and coordinator), and her husband, Richard (your musician). Complete set up is included; no decorating is necessary since the garden is so lovely. The bride has her own private cottage for dressing. A guitarist plays as you and your guests wander through the grounds. The venue is wheelchair accessible. The owners, Linda and Richard, take pride in helping make this the best day of your life and the wedding of your dreams. Romantic Garden Setting
Linda helped us right from the start with a recommendation list that included Dave Medal Photography, La Costanera for the reception and Alena Jean for our florals. The few months of preparation and the day of events could not have gone any better and we cannot recommend Linda and her garden enough.

Perfect Garden Wedding
My husband and I had our wedding here late last summer and it was an absolute dream. I had been searching for wedding spots all over the place including destination weddings and when my friend and I saw this garden, I became teary eyed. I knew this venue was perfect. The garden is so peaceful and it gives off a simple outdoorsy yet beautifully elegant vibe that I was in love with. You can tell that a lot of work, care, and love has been given to the garden, which made me love it even more.
Linda was extremely prompt answering all questions that I had and she was a great person to work with. She knows a lot about Half Moon Bay and gives you a list of nearby places to hold reception, get flowers, and officiants. She is upfront about her pricing and there were absolutely no hidden costs. We had a small wedding with under 50 guests and it was perfect, (the garden can hold more people though).
Need a photographer? Have Linda do the photography! Linda and an assistant took our photos, and they turned out amazing. They even had photography shades and reflectors, (not sure of the proper term), to help get proper lighting outdoors. We received a lot of compliments on our photos and we're so appreciative!
Overall, I give this venue 10 out of 5 stars. They go above and beyond to make sure that you have the wedding of your dreams. It was perfect. Thank you!

The Hastings House is located down the street from The Douglas Beach House right on Miramar Beach in Half Moon Bay. Have your wedding in the absolutely beautiful coastal garden at the Hastings House and literally you and your guests walk a few steps down the ocean front road (a wonderful stroll in itself) to The Douglas Beach House (or of course choose your reception at another incredible location on the coast.) Linda and Richard run the Hastings House and you could not ask for a better team. Linda is experienced, extremely detailed, organized and a wonderful person who will attend to your every detail. Her husband Richard is a very well known guitarist who may be available for your wedding as well. Linda is also a fabulous photographer. If you are looking for a garden setting, this is the place!
I've worked at Hastings House as an officiant for at least 30 weddings and it's one of my favorite locations to work with. Their garden is beautiful and well maintained; their service to bridal couples is personalized and professional; their location across from the Pacific Ocean makes for a great backdrop for the ceremony.
As a wedding photographer for 30 years, I have covered many venues in the Bay Area, most particularly the Half Moon Bay Coastside. Without a doubt, at the top of my list is Hastings House. I know all the secret corners of the garden and always come away with unique and beautiful images! The garden is magnificent, all planned by Linda, who does a fantastic job of making it thrive. Her magic and colorful garden, along with the ocean in front of Hastings House (yes - they have it all) provides the ideal setting for weddings. To go along with the beautiful scenery, Linda's accomplished husband, Richard Patterson will play his guitar for you, perfect accompaniment music for your special day. Richard has entertained audiences around world and is an absolute master. I'm always pleased with the photos that I shoot at Hastings House; when the venue looks that good, so do I.
