We literally could not have made a better decision. Shay and her team were so amazing! Harken events was amazingly helpful throughout day one of our wedding planning process up until the big day which went Perfectly! They were so responsive and detail oriented which was exactly what we needed to incorporate everything we wanted into our wedding day. Shay TRULY wanted to help throughout the process - she actually would check-in to see how she could help regularly. Shay also took the lead at coordinating with our venue and vendors and handled things with everyone seamlessly. She is incredibly sweet, creative, and helped make the entire process less stressful.
The reason we thought it’d be helpful to get a planner is because we found out our venue had booked an earlier wedding from 11:30-5pm. This meant our vendors would only have access on-site at 5:15pm. Initially, my fiancé and I were nervous about the quick turnaround time since our guests were supposed to start arriving at 6pm. Since the Bridal Party was taking pictures before the ceremony, we wouldn’t have anyone available on the ground to make sure things were being set up correctly. With Shay there to help, she ensured everything ran smoothly and that we didn’t have to worry at all. She was so prepared, worked with vendors to make sure everything was set up correctly, and also helped make sure we stayed on our timeline for the big day (since we had a huge wedding party and lots of photos to take).
Having Shay there, I felt comfortable and confident that we could trust things would go smoothly and everything would be set up the way we had envisioned (and it was!). Shay helped us coordinate the flow for our party, ensuring all of our formalities happened seamlessly and that people could just focus on having a good time. She also went out of her way to come on-site the day before at our final details meeting to go over everything with the venue, checking it against her master timeline to make sure things matched to what we had discussed.
Shay helped us personalize the wedding with small touches here and there. She picked up adorable signs that we were able to stage around the party (e.g. for amenity baskets, guest sign-in books, ceremony programs, etc.) so there would be a cohesive look which is something I mentioned wanting to have but forgot to purchase. She helped us pick up donuts that I had ordered for a late night dessert and then staged them on a beautiful dessert wall display that she also surprised us with. At the end of the night, we had leftover pastries that the venue couldn’t refrigerate so Shay brought them home to her own refrigerator and then brought them to brunch the next day.so guests could enjoy the treats. Shay really thought of everything and exceeded expectations at every chance..
Harken Events helped make our wedding the wedding of our dreams and it was such a pleasure working with them. I would recommend them in a second to anyone looking for a planner. They are amazing and will be there to have your back throughout the process!!
