I absolutely could not write this review fast enough. If you are hiring an event planner, particularly for your wedding, in the Boston area, look no further. Shay (Harken Events) absolutely nailed every segment of our amazing wedding.
We planned for 10 months and at a fairly high-level of spec, including furniture rentals, lighting, and having a three day event at multiple venues. She was calm, cool, and collected the entire time with incredible organizational skills - reminding us of things we didn't think of like event insurance. She had an incredibly detailed spreadsheet of what needed to be done, by who, and when.
On the days approaching our wedding so many people ask if I was stressed out (I am wildly Type A )and I said no -- because Shay's got it under control. We also hired amazing professionals in all of the other vendor areas.
Shay paid so much attention to detail including things like sourcing Turkish baklava For my Turkish husband (Middle Eastern or Greek wouldn't suffice)). She picked up tasting boxes from the bakery in Gloucester. She attended and took notes on all our tasting meals. She received each of the millions of shipments to her house since we live in California. She was on every call with the lighting team and the caterers.
She was absolutely on point every second of the wedding weekend, whether to organize snacks in the bridal suite, time everyone walking down the aisle, reassure me not to worry when I thought we were running late, or to send an assistant to fetch my more comfortable shoes for dancing.
Every moment of the wedding weekend went off without a hitch again (in part due to the professionalism of all of the vendors, but also largely due to Shay. She is the absolute pinnacle of wedding planners in New England. I cannot recommend her highly enough. -

I had the pleasure of meeting Shay from Harken Events at a wedding expo and I was drawn in by her calm and welcoming presence. We got to talking about floral and decor for our wedding, she is so organized and knowledgeable, all while being charismatic and kind. I quickly realized I wouldn’t want a wedding without Shay as a part of it.
I started planning my wedding almost two years in advance, and Shay was there through it all. She was in the know about all of my vendor bookings, my progress, and even family intricacies that may arise. Shay asks questions that I wouldn’t ever think to ask, but ones that will show up on the day of our wedding. Shay did research with me and for me, gave suggestions, timelines, resources, support, and reached out to vendors all along and I felt as if I had a good friend helping me in the entire process. I looked forward to the check in calls we would have, because Shay is an amazing resource and also.. she just gets it. It’s tough to plan a wedding and she was there all along.
Our rehearsal and wedding day went off without a hitch because of Shay and her teammate Jillian. They literally did it all. Family showed up late? No prob. Dress got muddy? They’re on it. Forgot a toothbrush? They have one. I never once was worried Shay couldn’t take care of something.
I cannot say enough about Shay and her team. They are professional, extremely knowledgeable, personable, and you can tell they do this out of love. I never once felt I was asking for too much because I knew we were in great hands.
Shay, thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. You truly made stressful wedding planning fun, easy, and I knew you always had my back. -

Wedding planning was immediately overwhelming for me, and finding Shay + Harken Event Company was the greatest blessing. A support system was immediately in place that enabled me to keep my sanity + provide me the structure to maintain a healthy progressive timeline throughout the entire planning process.
The day of was an absolute breeze, Shay and her team's experience really showed, and she was prepared for anything! (Which I did test, like spraining my ankle at my reception)
My wedding was beautiful, and it never would have come together like it did without Harken Event Co. Not only did Shay make the day run as smoothly as possible, but she also helped so incredibly much with the details. I procrastinated too much on my signs for the day of, and she took care of it all! Walking around, taking in all of the decor I didn't have to worry about setting up, such a dream. Truly, the best thing I ever did was hire Harken Event Co! 11/10 -

From the first day we started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted a coordinator to help make the day stress-free — but we couldn't have anticipated just how invaluable Shay, our wedding coordinator from Harken Events, would be in making our dream a reality. Investing $3,000 in her services was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.
Shay's role extended far beyond what we expected from a so-called "month of" wedding coordinator. Starting from about three months out, Shay became our go-to person for everything wedding related. Her responses to our emails were extremely quick, and our regular Zoom meetings were always productive and reassuring, no matter what challenges or complications we brought to her. Shay's presence at all the final vendor meetings leading up to the wedding also turned out to be critical, as she was able to clarify and correct numerous details that we surely would have missed without her meticulous efforts.
The documents and plans Shay put together for our wedding were also extremely helpful. She crafted a detailed timeline for our day, organized all the logistical aspects with our vendors seamlessly, and helped us put together our perfect ceremony. Shay was great at incorporating all the unconventional touches and personal preferences we expressed to her, but also offered gentle guidance in areas where we were confused or uncertain.
On the day of our wedding, we were able to immerse ourselves fully in the joy and love of the occasion, knowing that Shay had everything under control. Her execution was perfect, and it allowed us to enjoy our special day without any stress or worry. She was somehow able to be everywhere at once, all while stepping into the background and remaining practically invisible to guests. Her attentions on the day even extended to picking up a lunch order for our wedding party while we were all getting ready, so that no one else has to miss even a minute.
As you can probably tell, Harken Events was a pivotal part of making our wedding a success. Shay's dedication, skill, and passion for her work were evident in every interaction we had with her, and it shone through in making our wedding day feel truly magical. Shay is a rockstar. Not only did I enjoy our entire planning process by working with her but the way she handled a situation for us is worth more than gold! Our photographer was two hours late (even though Shay had a detailed timeline he was given) She handled that disaster with grace and professionalism. She kept the flow going for my husband and I. Her team did a beautiful job at the venue decorating and clean up!! Thank you Shay, I would get married again to hire you again! Thank you!! -

I truly do not have enough words to describe how incredible Shay was to work with. She made the entire planning process so much smoother and easier. Her knowledge and organizational skills are unmatched. Seriously! She did not miss a single detail of things we asked for. And on top of it all, she managed to juggle all of our crazy family dynamics and truly plan the perfect wedding weekend for us.
Throughout the whole planning process she was thorough and hard working, extremely communicative, and a comforting and reassuring mediator. On the wedding day, she never stopped moving. My husband and I work on movies and we joked all day that we felt like Shay was our director on set. She made sure everything happened that we asked for and never missed a beat.
I truly feel blessed that we found Shay. I know our wedding day was 10x better than it would have ever been had we not hired her. She is the most diligent, thoughtful, and kind person. I will be forever grateful for her help in planning our big day. -

I was on the fence about needing a planner and on-site coordinator, but Shay turned out to be the best decision! She was such an amazing help with details and planning leading up to our wedding and even did a site visit for us (we’re out of state) and put together an entire packet of the layout and different areas to get ready, take pictures, etc. She was a direct line for all of our vendors, which took so much stress off of us before and during our wedding. Shay and her assistant also added so much value on the day of, with managing discussions with the band when the set list went in a direction we hadn’t discussed, setting up decor (which they even helped source!), providing extra cups when the bar ran out, down to the small details like helping get makeup off my husband’s suit before taking pictures. I would choose Shay and her team a million times over, book her!! -

Planning a wedding involves so many details that can be challenging at times for a bride. So I reached out to Harken Events a few months before my wedding because I needed help coordinating our big day. My now-husband and I met with Shay, and within the first 5 minutes of discussing our wedding, I knew we were in good hands, and my mind was at ease after the meeting. Shay had great suggestions and ideas, was very organized, and I could tell she has a lot of experience planning events and weddings.
My husband and I were among the many couples that had to postpone our wedding due to COVID. I was beyond stressed, and Shay went above and beyond reaching out to vendors, and she was exceptional at following up and checking in with everyone.
I highly recommend Harken Events! Not only for their professionalism but for their caring team, too!

I can’t even begin to describe how thankful I am for Shay & Harken events! Shay is amazing and absolutely went above and beyond to make my decor visions come to life. I began working with her in the beginning of the year in January, but then with COVID-19 we were undecided on what to do for awhile. Once we decided on a smaller backyard wedding only about a month before the date, Shay and I picked back up and she truly made the last minute planning way less stressful. I wouldn’t of been able to pull it off without her. I’m adding a few photos of the decor I currently have, but can’t wait to see all the professional pictures. Thank you for everything Shay! You most definitely helped make my wedding one to remember forever! -

From offering up a variety of options from their own array of decorations, to putting the decorations together for you, to being onsite at the event to provide back-end help without ever knowing they are there so things run smoothly, then this is the company you want to have at your event. -

I would seriously give Harken Events and it's owner, Shay, 10 stars on all of the categories if I could. We used her for our wedding decor and rentals and boy am I happy that we did. Everything she designed and created was absolutely beautiful, of high quality, on trend, "Instragram worthy", and matched my vision exactly. Shay is patient, responsive, and a great listener - all of the things brides and grooms should look for when selecting their wedding vendors. In addition, Harken Events is reasonably priced and mission-driven; they proudly offer military and first responder discounts, and Shay sits on the board for Brides Across America and does a ton of pro bono work for them. As a fellow military bride, I was honored when she donated my gratuity (which she could not have deserved more) to the BAA organization. I hope that speaks volumes to other couples about the type of person she is.
Most importantly, what amazed me the most about working with Shay is how she truly went above and beyond to help us out in the final days before our wedding. Harken Events says that they prioritize making their couples happy with their special day, and this example couldn't prove it more. When the coordinator at our venue bailed on us for coordinating our ceremony rehearsal, Shay willingly offered to coordinate the rehearsal in her place when she had no obligation or benefit to, she just did it out of the goodness of her heart. Not to mention - she did an amazing job at it! Her directions at the rehearsal were detail-oriented, visual!, and fun for the whole bridal party to listen to. It only made me regret that we didn't hire her to do our wedding coordination and planning from the very beginning of the process. Nonetheless, I hope other couples learn from our experience, and know that using Harken Events is one of the best decisions you'll make in your wedding planning process. -

Shay and her team were so amazing! Harken events was amazingly helpful throughout day one of our wedding planning process up until the big day which went Perfectly! They were so responsive and detail oriented which was exactly what we needed to incorporate everything we wanted into our wedding day. We had a large party and two different locations along with a shuttle bus and limo and Shay made everything feel so put together and organized. I couldn’t have done it without her and her team and would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding! -

There is an old proverb in business, "give more in value then you request in payment." Shay and Fabio epitomize this. From the moment my wife and I met them they were beyond friendly, professional and amazing. We were planning our wedding from many miles away and had to rely on them for A LOT. Not only did they consistently put our mind at ease throughout the process but they executed above and beyond on game day. Shay may be the most capable and organized person that I have ever met and Fabio is a wizard on budget projections and a calming presence throughout the process.
As my mom said constantly throughout the planning process, the wedding weekend goes by so quickly that you really want to enjoy the planning process as well. Shay and Fabio made that possible.

After searching for a planner and getting in touch with a few people, we found ourselves partnered with Shay and boy, did we make the right decision. There is no right or wrong way to plan a wedding, but there is definitely a right fit for the people involved and Shay was a perfect match for us.
During our first meeting, before we had even hired her, Shay was super informative and prepared. She was very open while talking about her experience so far and what would be included in her service (as well as pricing), and she went so far as to send us a preliminary budget spreadsheet that she normally uses to help couples keep track of how they want to spend their wedding fund. All of this together gave us a great feeling about Shay and it was a no brainer to hire her.
Now I'm not a "traditional" bride who had a clear vision for her wedding day, nor did we have a lot of help from family in the process. Shay was our champion though, stepping in and motivating us the whole time and being our true coordinator for it all. Shay brought her experience, positive and witty personality, as well as her tasteful design sense to the table. Her husband who also helps her out came to the meeting a couple of times and was a great addition to the team. We met in person several times (at least 3-4) and had a couple of conference calls - each meeting taking at least 2 hours since we wanted to cover so much. They were so generous with their time that it honestly amazed me. We would talk about the concept in the beginning and then she took some of my crazy drawings and ideas and really put it in a clear, organized format. As we got closer to the date she put the decorations in a "per area" format so we were clear on what we had planned to buy, rent, or DIY. A lot of props and lanterns, that if you're a normal person you wouldn't have a bunch of, she had in her possession and was happy to let us use.
Anything you have - questions, concerns, desires - share with her and she'll make sure to come up with an answer or a solution. Some of our vendors were a bit spotty on response/coordination, but Shay really stepped in to make sure everything got resolved/delivered and took the stress off of us. She even found us a local acoustic musician 3 weeks before the wedding because I (the bride) couldn't let go of my dream of a local artist helping us celebrate (thanks to Alex Anthony Music!).

I reached out to her over a year before my wedding and from the very beginning she was so attentive and helpful. She worked with me from start to finish on perfecting my centerpieces in order to make sure that my vision came to life, and whenever I was unsure about something always went the extra mile to come up with additional ideas. Shay was so encouraging and thoughtful throughout the entire process, even if I acted like a typical bride and kept changing my mind. Sarah Sent on 07/06/2018We hired Harken Events to help with some last minute wedding planning after I broke my ankle. I only wish we had done this sooner! Shay was amazing! She is detail oriented, organized and extremely kind. Having someone so trustworthy help with the stress of wedding planning put us at ease.
We told Shay what we were looking for and she went above and beyond to make it happen. We Initially contacted her looking for doors to walk through for our ceremony. Unfortunately they didn’t have any…so instead she made them for us and they were beautiful; exactly what we envisioned and more! Shay also designed our dessert table, sweet heart table and made signs for us. We got proofs and pictures throughout the process to verify the designs we wanted and to make sure things were within our budget.
The day of our wedding I felt so comfortable having Shay there. She set everything up, delivered the doors and took everything down afterwards. Everything was perfect and I felt less stressed having Shay there.
Shay went above and beyond to make our day special (I even saw her outside helping the venue set up chairs for the ceremony). We can’t thank Shay and her husband enough for everything they did to make our day special!Harken Event Company's reply:

Shay exceeded our expectations, went above and beyond for us, always had our best interest at heart, and worked so hard to help us plan the best wedding I could have ever imagined. Even our guests noticed how amazing she was. She really felt like our best friend throughout this process and it was obvious that she truly was invested in our happiness. Erin Sent on 10/26/2017I don't know how to say all the things I want to! Shay/Mosaic does it all. The set up, break down, vendor coordination, deliveries, keeping me on track by building out a task calendar, set tables, cleaned up... I could go on and on. But beyond her ability to get things done, she’s one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. She is patient, professional, and genuinely does things in the interest of the bride and groom.
In full transparency, I was on the fence about hiring a wedding planner. From engagement to wedding day, we had almost two years to plan, so I figured I had it all under my belt. As we approached the 9 month-out mark, I started thinking things like, “who’s going to meet all my vendors on site the day of?” and “who’s going to set up the apple cider bar for guests to enjoy during the ceremony?” and “I don’t have time to Pinterest all day – who can I give a vision to and trust?!”
We’d set up a meeting with Mosaic to check out some of their rental items. When we learned of Shay’s event planning background, we began asking what hiring a true wedding planner looked like, as I’d never even considered it, and my now-husband was sold right away.
Here’s the thing: it’s your wedding day, it’s a once in a lifetime experience & it goes by VERY quickly. The last thing you want is to be looking at the clock every hour trying to figure out where you should be, what you should be doing or if all your guests have found their seats. Shay was the exact person I needed so that I could genuinely enjoy my day with all our guests – she’d tap me on the shoulder when it was time to cut cake, dance with parents, or take a seat. She also kept everything that went “wrong” completely hidden from me. I had no idea my florist went to the wrong country club and that other vendors were late!
Weddings add up quickly but do yourself a favor & inquire about wedding planning services from Mosaic. It was the best money I spent on the entire wedding. (Pics of her work attached!)Harken Event Company's reply:
