What is the story behind Hark Bakery?

Hark Bakery is the Twin Cities’ only 100% gluten-free and vegan bakery. We specialize in custom cakes, pastries and other desserts for weddings, private events, birthdays and other moments worth celebrating. All celiac safe!

We started Hark in 2019, with a focus on finding inventive, delicious ways to fill gaps we saw in the vegan and gluten-free bakery and food scene in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

In 2024, we found our sweet spot as a custom dessert kitchen, creating decadent cakes, pastries, cookies and more for those with (and without) dietary restrictions.

Amazing gluten free wedding cake

Hark! made us the most beautiful, delicious wedding cake. They worked with us to determine what flavors would work best together (we went chocolate and cherry), and helped us decide what size was appropriate. They covered the cake in beautiful edible flowers and even made us a smaller 6inch version to freeze and save for our first anniversary [pictured] (it was still delicious a year later).

Just hire them already

Hark! Cafe is run by two incredibly kind, detail oriented, and skillful chefs who really captured what we wanted for our wedding cake. Communication was clear, execution was excellent, and the most important part -- the cake was DELICIOUS! They also gave us a smaller round for our one year anniversary and it kept incredibly well. 10/10 even if you don't have a gluten intolerance you'll love their products! Thank you again!
