Hallowood Cabin is a unique barn and farm wedding venue located in La Veta, Colorado. The owners and operators of this venue, the Wood family, decided to purchase this property in 2017. The venue was once known as the Cuchara Valley Lodge. Everything but two building remained after many years of abandonment. The two buildings that remained were the recreation center and the swimming pool. The Wood family decided to turn the swimming pool into a cabin with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Facilities and Capacity

Hallowood Cabin offers six acres of both indoor and uncovered outdoor event spaces with scenic views. Couples and guests can enjoy the 360-degree mountain views from the lakefront setting. This venue gives each couple the opportunity to fully customize their wedding. The reception hall is attached to the main cabin and can accommodate seating for parties up to 70 guests. The house itself is 2,100 square feet and includes a wraparound porch, indoor wood burning fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen. In addition to the reception hall and house, the property itself offers a private fishing pond.

Services Offered

Hallowood Cabin offers a basic package with the option to add on other options. The basic package gives the couple full access to the event space and reception hall from 3 p.m. on the day before the wedding until 11 a.m. the day after the wedding. At the Hallowood Cabin, couples have the choice of renting the venue to do everything on their own with their team of preferred vendors, or they can have the event staff do everything while they focus on preparing for their big day.
