We had our wedding reception at Hacienda Santa Maria and it was the perfect evening!! Gonzalo, Rebecca and the entire staff there were absolutely incredible! Rebecca was very responsive to all of our emails and phone calls. She went out of her way to communicate with us and with our wedding planner. From the beginning we had a number of special requests and they were accommodating and kind throughout the process. They went out of their way to help create a day that was so memorable for us, our families and all of our 175 guests.
The food was absolutely delicious! Our guests all raved about their meals - we offered two options and both were fantastic. The service was excellent - they were responsive to any requests made and helped facilitate a wonderful evening. All of the staff were very friendly!
The venue itself is very beautiful. It was the first (and only) venue my husband and I saw that was so filled with character and beauty. The tile floors, columns and chandeliers are all stunning and they looked incredible with all of the other decor that was used that night. We strongly recommend Hacienda Santa Maria for a wedding reception, party or any other special event - it is such a charming venue!

Great location just north of downtown San Antonio. Iron seating and beautiful water fountains throughout the venue. The restrooms were clean and the entire venue stayed cold the entire July night. I will suggest this place to anyone that is looking for a venue for a party between 100-200 people.

Wonderful value! If you don't like decorating and have a guest list of under 150 people, this is the place! They say you can fit 250, but I don't buy it. The place is broken up into two sections and there is--no way it will be comfortable....you will just have to see it to believe me (max of 12 tables of 10ppl fit in the main room or it will bleed on to the dance floor space) ... I liked that it wasn't going to have to be decorated the venue from head to toe. The walls are painted an orange-gold, there is architectural details and some artwork. It is rather Mexican style, so if you are having a winter-wonderland themed wedding or something else like that, you may want to look elsewhere. The chairs don't need a cover(I hate those). No special lighting since the lighting is on dimmers. You have to use their catering and it was delicious except the chicken was dry(We had two meats, so it was ok for me since I was too drunk to care). The owner is so incredibly nice. Service was great, but I'm convinced they stole our leftover beer. Which, brings me to my next topic, you have to buy your own liquor, wine and beer. They just supply the bartender and mixers (at $7 a person). It comes out cheaper if you are planning on having an open bar all night. Another *plus* is that the venue USED to not have central air so they have BACKUP units on the ceiling. They don't look wonderful during the day, but I did not notice them in the evening. Just keep in mind that you'll be grateful if the A/C breaks in the middle if June (FYI: A/C worked fine on my day). What is included in the rental fee--there is parking for guests, dance floor, cake stand, portrait easel, linens, tablecloths(tons of colors to choose from), waitstaff, cleanup and gold trimmed plate-ware. It also included cake cutting, but I would say buy a bigger cake than your cake person suggests. They cut incredibly large slices. Glassware and pretty much everything else was extra and mandatory (i.e security, non-plastic cups, ceremony fee...).

I had my ceremony and reception there. I had a guarantee of 100 guests. The front room was super cute for the ceremony and the curtains were pulled to open up to a great reception. I think I said too many negative aspects of this place. Overall, it was wonderful and I will recommend this venue over others in San Antonio. I gave this place five stars on all topics because the place is wonderful, but I am a crazy, attention to detail, bridezilla. If you can read my other reviews, you will see that I am overall happy with everyone and everything except for the hair and makeup people.

I have my wedding reception en La Hacienda, from the beginning Mrs. Dolores and Mr. Gonzalo work with our budget. They provided frozen margaritas and kegs of beer, we provided the champagne and the sodas, cheaper than to have an open bar. We choose ceviche for the appetizers , entree was chicken cordon bleu, with pasta , green beans with almonds and the house salad, every body love the food. The only thing that I notice was that only half of the people that RSVP show to the reception but still the Pasta and Ceviche was gone in one served, taking in consideration that we add 10 more plates to our original RSVP count, they need to work better in proportions for plates. Chicken and vegetables were more than enought. I read in a previous comment something similar. I dont know if the air condition was working at full capacity but after few dances the room feel too warm even with the ceiling fans on. The staff: Very professional, polite and efficient.

This venue is BEAUTIFUL !!!! Inside and out. There is lots of room and has many, many picture perfect locations for wonderful photo moments. I liked the unique and different food options for or food selection. I appreciated the owners flexibility with time, dates, food, linens, décor, hours, etc. He was very helpful and wanted to make this day as easy as ever for me and my daughter. After pricing many venues, we realized that we were getting a better bargain with this venue and the location would be prettier than at other places. Don't let the small blemishes on this place detour you from booking this venue. Once pictures are being taken, the small blemishes aren't even seen. Also, don't be discouraged with the owner. He is a very busy man but he is super nice and will do anything in his power to work with you. I will definitely make my next big event at this venue.
