Our wedding was the culmination of our love for each other while intertwining the influence of art, culture, and music using the Nation’s Capital as our wedding backdrop. My vision for the wedding was a concept that blends both my husband’s North-East African heritage with my Afro Caribbean traditions all while infusing our D.C culture. I deemed this concept D.C. Renaissance.
Initially I was leaning towards a wedding singer/musician for entertainment but with the eclectic party vibe and refined theme, a DJ would be best. I could not have just any basic run of the mill wedding DJ, I needed the BEST.
I needed a DJ that understood my vision, worked well with the existing wedding Planners/Weddings Coordinator, and adhered to the regulations of the venue. The DJ would have to fulfill the eclectic playlist, but most importantly keep the mood upbeat and vibrant. Gold Boots Entertainment (GBE) was the only DJ Team that fit the bill.
GBE is renowned for their party scene so I knew it was going to be epic, but I had no idea how well-orchestrated our wedding would be. For each phase of the wedding, Gold Boots Entertainment more than delivered. I provided a templated of the songs for each segment of the wedding. The music was perfect for each phase of the event, the sound quality was amazing, and the volume/bass was in accordance with permitted regulations. They even had extras perks like speakers in all pass-through rooms, ambient uplighting, microphones, and as an added bonus they were our Master of Ceremony.
GBE was amazing! Their attention to detail was unprecedented! They worked well with a bride of my caliber. Everything was meticulously laid out from (pre-ceremony; ceremony; cocktail hour, dinner, and reception). And their communication was perfect, I could not have asked for anything more.
My wedding coordinator pulled me for each of my dress changes. We were well into the reception and I totally forgot to coordinate my entrance with GBE for my third and final dress. Fortunately, GBE constantly scanned the crowd and saw my movement. Anticipating my return they kept the party going and diverted the crowd's attention.
The song I entered in on was unintended and yet so perfect.
As I was in my dressing room getting ready, I heard the perfect song. Hastily I ran to the staircase for my return entrance. Somehow GBE saw me and masterfully remixed resynced the song and then hit me with a spotlight. The audience gasped and screamed in delight. I was able to regain my composure and strutted down the staircase in perfect rhythm. It was magical. GBE had adjusted the lights, staged up lighting on the staircase and my guest was literally screaming, my husband was awestruck. To say it was memorable is an understatement. To this day, guests still comment on my epic third dress entrance.
I could go on and on professing my admiration for GBE. I leave this in closing. My wedding was “Flawless” (that’s a freebie.. I used that song for my Bouquet Toss) but each moment was perfect. The preliminary work paid off, my guest had an amazing time and the dance floor was packed the entire night. I cannot thank Gold Boots Entertainment enough. They made our night, and I truly enjoyed myself.
If I could have a redo, I would still choose GBE. Since my wedding, several guests have requested their information. Do yourself a favor and book them, this will be the best and easiest decision you make for your wedding.

He did an excellent job combining our African and American music together. Everyone had an awesome time!!! I would recommend him to the next person I know that needed a DJ.

Brought fun and great music to our wedding..they were able to make some last minute adjustments without any problem...very professional but at the same time very personal and interactive throughout the whole wedding.

Golden Boots was the PERFECT DJ for my wedding. They were professional, kind, and knew how to get the party started! We gave them a song on a thumb drive last minute and they were able to edit out the part we didn't want. Eric is so easy to work with. He had an online system that was super fun to browse through to choose songs we wanted played. They were even organized to show options for wedding favorites, father/daughter dance, etc. They perfectly captured the elegant yet fun vibe my husband and I were hoping for. They are reasonably priced and did WAY better than any DJ I've seen at other weddings.

We chose GBE Events to DJ our wedding. They were amazing! They music was exactly what we had requested, it was mixed perfectly throughout the entire night, the party never stopped, or even slowed down. They were incredibly professional, helpful and kind. I highly recommend them! Cannot wait to have another reason to host a party and hire them again! Thank you both so much for being such a huge part of our perfect night!
