We are Gabriel & Carissa; a husband and wife wildly passionate about one another, who travel the world and embrace every experience life gives us. The Midwest is home to myself, Carissa ; the idyllic farm community I grew up in strongly impacts my work while serving as an inspiration and a daily reminder to breathe deeply and appreciate the simplicity and artistry of what surrounds us. A small village nestled in the rolling hills of Germany is home to my husband, Gabriel; growing up in a quaint European community has given him a unique perspective in his work and a passion for the celebration of love and preservation of history.

We had such an amazing experience with Carissa and Gabe, from the very beginning! There was 90% chance of rain in the forecast for our wedding day, but we got done with our OUTDOOR pictures and I hadn't even realized that it wasn't raining! We missed so many moments and emotions on our wedding day, and it was so amazing to see that Carissa and Gabe captured them. We are forever grateful for the incredible talent and professionalism we received!!

We booked for out Wedding and it was an amazing experience! They asked us what we wanted out of our photo's and they were willing to meet with us several times before hand to hear the things we absolutely wanted photo's of. We had our edited photos super quickly and we love them! It's one of the lasting parts about getting married and I loved them and their work so much my husband and I have asked them to do our maternity shoot for our first baby!

Carissa and Gabriel of Fernweh + Liebe Photography made our day so special!! We can not say enough nice things about them. They were awesome to work with before our wedding getting all the last details sorted out. They truly made us feel so comfortable. My husband and I are awkward in pictures but they knew exactly what to do to make us feel at ease and without us even knowing it! Our wedding party just loved them and they made it so fun and entertaining while we were having our pictures taken. They captured the most amazing pictures of our wedding day! They captured every detail for us and were so personable and flexible! They were more than just photographers that day. They made us feel like we were old friends just hanging out before an awesome party! We treasure our amazing photos from that day. We highly recommend them to everyone we know that is getting married! They are definitely an awesome duo that you want by your side to capture all your wonderful memories of your wedding day!

We had our engagement photos done with Fernweh + Liebe, and it was an all-around wonderful experience. Carissa was incredibly flexible with us when we had to reschedule because of the weather, and when rain became an issue on our rescheduled day, she was prepared--we took some shots with an adorable umbrella that she brought along, and then took a break and chatted over coffee as the worst of the rain rolled through. She didn't allow us to be discouraged, and instead saw the rain as an opportunity for unique photos. And the photos were GORGEOUS. I've never been one to like my photo taken, but I was blown away by how good she made us look! Book Fernweh + Liebe if you have the chance. Carissa and Gabe are the best kind of people, and their humor, optimism, and talent is unmatched.

Carissa and Gabe were everything we could have wanted in a wedding photographer. They were kind, prepared, produced excellent photos, and the price was great! They were overseas for a month right before our wedding, which I thought would be scary - but they were there with us fresh and bushy tailed! They even scouted out a new location for us to do outdoor photos. Carissa has a great eye for finding beautiful backdrops where others don't see them (cemetery, beach with dead trees, etc). I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking! Thank you both for all you did to make our day the best ever!!

Carissa Pic Photography did our engagement session as well as our wedding day. Our package allowed us to have the printing release for our photos (so we could print them wherever we want) as well as 2 photographers the day of our wedding for 10 hours.
For the price and the quality of her work, she is definitely someone I would recommend!
Her shots don't look as "posed" as some other wedding shoots, however, she has great ideas of things she wants to capture. She is also very open to suggestions and is willing to grab whatever shots you want!
