Our guests are still talking about how amazing the treats were, and we couldn’t agree more. Each bite was a delight, and the presentation was just as impressive. Ellyn made my wedding cake dreams come true! My cake was aesthetically elegant and just how I requested, but even better it tasted amazing. It doesn’t get better than that “home cooking” taste. You can tell though out the whole process that Ellyn loves what she does! Very easy to work with and offered a variety of flavors to sample before you select.

Ellyn is absolutely the best person to work with, and her cakes are amazing! We tried pretty much every one of the huge wedding cake bakers in Richmond, and Fat Rabbit blew them all completely out of the water. The flavors are thoughtfully put together, creative, and balanced, and the presentation is always stunning! Since we did our cake tasting we have ordered from Fat Rabbit multiple times -- pretty much any opportunity we can get. We are making excuses to buy these cakes at this point! Ellyn herself is so sweet and very professional, and was totally willing to come up with some unique flavor combinations for us and to work within our budget. We ended up doing three small cakes for the wedding and they were stunning and delicious. I had multiple people pull me aside on my wedding day to ask where they were from!! Even if you can't get Fat Rabbit for your wedding, you NEED to get a cake from Ellyn for your next special event!

Ellyn was super helpful in the planning process and so flexible when we needed to make some covid-related changes. The cakes she made were delicious and beautiful. It actually worked out that one of my cakes had been left at the bakery - Ellyn worked with my planner to get it delivered in time for the cutting and none of us were the wiser until after the reception had ended, so while accidents can happen to anyone I would say Ellyn did an amazing job handling it and saving the day.

Ellyn was so wonderful to work with!! She was so accommodation when we had to switch venues and guest counts. On top of all that, the cake was absolutely delicious! Looking forward to another event where I can have another Fat Rabbit Cake.

From start to finish Ellyn was amazing!!! We had her make 3 cakes for our wedding & our guests are STILL talking about them months later. Her creativity & flavor combinations are so well thought out and DELICIOUS! Easy to work with, I can’t wait to hire her for more sweets to come!!

Ellyn makes incredible desserts. As beautiful as they are delicious! We ordered a small cake and dozens of cupcakes and pies for our wedding day. The order process was easy, choosing from tons of reasonably priced options, many super unique flavors and options (and of course the basics, too!). Fat Rabbit has the coolest flavors in all of RVA! I’m still craving my Prosecco cake with rose buttercream! We had so many people comment on how good our cupcakes were! Some people even got their hands on them before we cut the cake because they were so good!

We hired Fat Rabbit to make our wedding cake. They came highly recommended and our cake tasting was amazing. Our wedding cake design was exactly what we wanted - it looked just like what we envisioned and was so gorgeous - but, unfortunately, the cake itself was not great. The whole cake was dry and lacked flavor. There were barely any berries or ganache inside and the icing was very thick and stiff which meant you were eating more icing than cake. Many of our guests did not finish their slices. Our cake consisted of two custom flavors (straight-forward olive oil cake with berries and chocolate cake with berries and ganache), but in hindsight, we wonder if we should have gone with one of their “tried and true” flavors instead. Despite the disappointment in our cake overall, we really enjoyed working with the Fat Rabbit staff. They were so helpful, answered all of our questions, and executed our design request well. They were also diligent about my husband’s nut allergy and ensured the cake did not come into contact with allergens in the bakery; it was actually the first time he was able to eat wedding cake at a wedding. Overall, we loved working with the staff, but we just wish our cake had tasted great too!

Was really excited to work with Ellyn. We had our cake tasting and left feeling great. Then we literally never heard from her again. She said she was going to email the contract over after our cake tasting and she never did. I reached out and I got no response. Needless to say we did not book. It would have been fine if she couldn't do our date anymore at least tell me so I know. Figuring out the cake to do at cake tasting was also a struggle to figure out and there was really poor communication.
