Exchange Ballroom is a multi-award-winning venue in Portland, Oregon, hosting weddings and events. This stunning urban event space is located in the historic Eastside Exchange Building on the east bank of the Willamette River. Boasting breathtaking views of the downtown Portland skyline, it offers a one-of-a-kind setting for unique and memorable celebrations.

Facilities and Capacity

Exchange Ballroom invites you to start your day getting ready in their on-site dressing suite, equipped with an elegant beauty station. You can host your ceremony and reception in the 6,200-square-foot Exchange Ballroom, a versatile space with high ceilings and a neutral backdrop ideal for customization. Here you can exchange vows before one of their large symmetrical windows with a seated audience of up to 300. You are also more than welcome to add decor items like flowers or a decorative arch for a personal touch. After you tie the knot, you can pose in front of the blown glass sculpture by Andy Paiko at the main entrance for your portrait session. Later, you can reunite with up to 300 guests for a seated banquet-style dinner celebration or up to 425 standing. Whichever option you choose, you can choreograph the Exchange Ballroom to accommodate your needs and match your preferred aesthetic.

Excellent Time!

We hired Vibrant Table catering to help us with catering and event design. Kurt and his vision was amazing. The staff was super professional, the food was divine and they did a great job helping us with decor and flowers. Absolutely A+

All around amazing experience

The staff at Exchange Ballroom and Vibrant Table were excellent throughout the whole wedding process. From the very first meeting, it was clear they were professionals and knew how to plan and execute a wedding in their space. The communication and the various options for the venue and catering made it easy for us to get exactly what we wanted for our day. Shout out to Kyle, Meghan, Meg and Liz who walked us through the entire year leading up to our wedding and supported us the day of. We had 150 people for our wedding and the ballroom was the perfect size for both ceremony and reception. And you can't beat the backdrop of the city at sunset on the roof. The food was incredible - 6 months after our wedding, people are STILL talking about how the pork was the BEST they've ever had (we agree). All around Exchange Ballroom and Vibrant Table was a pleasure to work with and their staff helped make our wedding day incredible.

The Exchange Ballroom was an amazing venue. It had everything we could have asked for. Their staff is amazing so they were able to do literally anything you ask - they also had really great suggestions with regards to setup and lighting that really made the place look amazing. Everyone was extremely professional and they setup and tear down everything. They also provide a event manager for the evening so that person (in conjunction it's your day of coordinator or wedding planner) can make sure everything runs smoothly. It was a beautiful night and it was truly thanks to the organization and suggestions of the staff at Exchange Ballroom.

My husband and I fell in love with this venue from the moment we saw it. It's a great space for a small intimate wedding, or a large event. The rooftop is an amazing backdrop for a ceremony and the ballroom is great to hold a variety of things: dancing, sit down dinner, yard games, etc. Working with the team was incredibly easy and always got back to us in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend!

I loved having the Exchange Ballroom as our wedding venue! It is in the perfect location, across the river from downtown Portland, and there are incredible views of the city skyline. It is reasonably priced, especially if it is rented on a Friday or Sunday. The staff are attentive, professional, and efficient. There is more than enough parking, especially for big weddings (ours was 170 guests). I highly recommend EB!!

I fell in love with the Eastside Exchange the moment I saw it online for the first time. After visiting Portland from the East Coast and checking this place out, I fell in love with it even more. This is the most beautiful, attractive, and moder place that fits my style. The Cascade Rooftop with it's breathtaking view of downtown Portland made my photos look stunning!
Kyle Kornegay (the venue manager) was very patient with me and my gazillion questions, and very responsive to my needs and my requests. The entire VT Group team helped make my planning and wedding day beautiful and enjoyable!
The Eastside Exchange Ballroom and Cascade Rooftop is the best place to celebrate your event at!

The Eastside Exchange will always be special to us because it was such a wonderful and perfect place to have our wedding on 2.27.2016. The space is beautiful! It's open floor plan, natural light, roof top with the city view makes it a great place to get married any time of the year! I was planning our wedding from the east coast and we had amazing help and support from Kyle Kornegay and Kathryn Sobotka! They worked with me and my parents to create the perfect day from beginning to end. We have the most beautiful photos on the roof top and we got so many compliments on how fun the venue was. Perfect for dancing, dinner, toasts. You name it, it is all encompassing! I will be forever thankful for everyone's help here on making our day so special! So many great memories at this amazing venue!

We had the pleasure of being married at the Eastside Exchange Ballroom and Cascade Rooftop in September 2015. This venue had everything we were looking for: an urban location, blank canvas for décor, and the oh-so-special rooftop that could accommodate our large guest list. After seeing the space during construction, I knew it was the perfect venue for us and we looked no further.

We met with Kurt with the Vibrant Table and I instantly knew we would be well taken care of during the whole process. He and his entire team were communicative and helpful, and helped us figure out exactly what we would need to make this night special. They even allowed us to visit the rooftop a year before our date to time the sunset for our post-ceremony cocktail hour.

At the venue, we were able to use multiple spaces, including conference rooms for getting ready on-site. The team worked wonderfully with our coordinator and other vendors to ensure that my husband and I wouldn’t know of any hiccups throughout the day (that are bound to happen!).

We knew before we committed to the venue that there would be some changes by the time our wedding due to new construction happening around the building site. While there are going to be two new high-rise buildings added to the skyline, the view was still just as breathtaking and our sunset was incredibly beautiful. The construction gave an even more authentic downtown vibe, which was so perfect.

The two things we will remember the most from that incredible night: entering the beautiful ballroom to our friends and family cheering, and closing down the reception with the late-night rooftop dance party. What a memorable event for everyone who attended.

Since the wedding, we have gotten non-stop compliments from guests about the venue, the food, the drinks and the overall experience. We had so much fun at this venue and are so happy we picked such a new and beautiful Portland location to be married! Thanks!

We held our ceremony and reception at the Exchange Ballroom, with cocktail hour in the lobby... and we are SO pleased with our decision. We actually signed up for the Exchange while construction was still ongoing, but after meeting with owner Kurt Beadell we had no doubts how great it was going to be. Our ceremony took place during sunset with the Portland skyline as the backdrop for our vows. (We cannot wait to see the photos!) Several guests told us it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever attended and everyone thought it was a great space. We also appreciated that they have so many tables, chairs, and bars on site and already available with the price of renting the space. Other similar appearing venues in Portland wanted to charge extra for each little thing, so we recommend that you ask about those "extras" from any potential venue. Bonus: the Eastside Exchange also has ample parking and they also do not charge extra to use the lot. Although we had our wedding in November, we completely lucked-out with a 63 degree sunny day. Due to the great weather, Kyle allowed us to rent the Cascade Rooftop at the last minute so that we could take pre-ceremony photos there. Speaking of Kyle, the venue manager, he was friendly and flexible throughout the planning process. For example, there were no subsequent events scheduled so we were allowed to pick up our remaining items from the venue on the Monday following our Saturday wedding. It was really great that neither my husband and I or our families had to worry about that immediately after the wedding. If you are looking for a modern indoor venue for your Portland wedding, you are not going to find a better spot than the Exchange!
