Erica is so easy to work with! She is very organized and was always prepared for our sessions! She perfectly captured our vision for engagement photos catching all the beautiful fall colors. We did not have any fears about hiring Erica based off what we saw on social media/ reviews. Her pictures are always so bright and fun! The day of our wedding Erica made everything so seamless and the timeline was perfect. Erica is so talented and amazing to work with.

I can’t recommend Erica enough for wedding/engagement photography! My husband and I were both very nervous for engagement and wedding pictures as we are both not very comfortable in front of the camera. My husband absolutely hates getting his picture taken and was dreading all picture aspects surrounding our wedding. However, Erica listened to our fears/stress in regards to getting our pictures taken and made sure the pictures went smoothly. She has a way of making you feel comfortable even when doing something that typically makes you very uncomfortable. She has such a fun upbeat personality and showed true excitement for what she does and for us. Her photography style involves a lot of movement and capturing real/natural moments which allowed us to get so many amazing pictures that truly felt like us. I genuinely enjoyed the picture taking process with Erica and never would have imagined that would be the case. As for my husband…in all honesty I can’t say he enjoyed the process of taking pictures but he didn’t hate it -which truly is an achievement (props to you Erica). She made sure he was comfortable but gave him just the right amount of push and encouragement that he needed. Thank you for capturing our special day!

Erica’s excellent with details. She communicated regularly through a professional online portal and was available any time we needed to talk. There were recommended wedding day activities and timing which she adjusted to help us fit what we wanted. Erica also kept our wedding day moving according to the schedule and made sure to work with a couple designated family members so we didn’t have to do any work on the day of our wedding.


Professional and Personable
Erica was incredibly professional throughout all our communication. During our wedding day, she coordinated many family members and was very kind and patient. Engagement and wedding photos can be a little daunting, but Erica made it all run very smoothly. By incorporating some activity into our sessions, she kept us from feeling awkward just taking canned photos.

High quality photos
We’ve been thrilled with how many photos Erica delivered and how high quality they are. They’re great both digitally and in print. Depending on the package you choose, there are also print credits available through Erica’s print shop.

I had the most wonderful wedding experience. Working with Erica from the beginning I knew she had it all taken care of. Starting off with price, she had multiple packages for all different needs and budgets. Our package included the engagement session which was a great lead into what the wedding day would be like. Erica never rushed or pushed us to do things we didn’t want to do. She was very considerate of what we wanted as well as knowing what we didn’t know we wanted! We received our engagement photos back in record time which was very helpful with sending invites out and such. The wedding day was smooth sailing. Erica arrived early and got right to work, she new exactly what she needed to get done to stay on time. I really appreciated her attention to time as well as her calming presence, I think that’s why I stayed calm too. There was nothing distracting during the ceremony, Erica and her partner were sneaky and quiet during the whole thing which I also appreciated looking back because I’ve been to weddings where the photographer sort of steals the show with distractions. As far as the rest of the day Erica knew exactly what photos had to be done and kept us on track, if not ahead of schedule! We had plans to greet all the guests at their tables and get a picture but it didn’t work out as I thought it would so Erica quickly solved the problem and had us take a group photo with ALL 200 guests and got the most awesome photo that we will remember forever. I would recommend Erica Johanna photography to anyone looking. Do you want someone organized? Done. Do you want someone with a calm demeanor? Done. Do you want someone with extreme talent for getting the most beautiful photos? Done! She does it all and I couldn’t be more happy with my choice to have her for my wedding

We absolutely LOVED working with Erica! She was extremely organized and always willing to meet with us throughout the entire planning process (which was so helpful when planning our wedding from out of state)! She made us feel very comfortable in the front of the camera and was very encouraging, thoughtful, and friendly! One of my friends had actually had Erica photograph her wedding so I got to witness how she worked and how seamless she made the busy wedding day and knew we had to have her shoot our day! Erica did an amazing job! We had an idea of what we both wanted for our photos and she took those broad ideas and location ideas and made it happen! Because of some weather concerns, she was able to be sure that the location we went to had a great second option if we needed it. Since we did engagement photos with her it made our wedding day seamless and fluid. The photos turned out a million times better then I could have ever imagined. She is a great person to work with and I will definitely be booking her for our future photo needs.

We absolutely loved working with Erica and are so glad we booked her for our engagement photos and wedding. Erica is so personable, professional, and organized. It really felt like we were being photographed by a friend. She had a knack for explaining poses and making you feel like you were born to be a model…we were scared it might be awkward, but it wasn’t in the least. Erica is also extremely communicative and attentive, and she was always telling us to reach out to her if we needed tips for wedding planning. She scheduled several meetings and questionnaires to check in with us and allow us to provide her with a vision of what we wanted on our wedding day. She worked with us to come up with a wedding timeline and made sure to buffer in time for us to relax and just enjoy ourselves which we greatly appreciated. On our wedding day we got so many compliments on how kind Erica was and how she seemed to know everyone’s name. I can’t imagine the prep work that goes in to memorizing names of close family members. Erica is great at directing people to get family portraits done in a timely manner so you don’t have any uncles or cousins getting bored and wandering off. We cannot recommend Erica enough! Less than a week after our wedding, Erica had highlights posted on her blog which included more than 100 photos and the ability to download them. Erica was definitely our favorite wedding vendor to work with, and we are so incredibly grateful that she was part of our wedding day!

I came across Erica’s page via an Instagram search, and I instantly fell in love with the vibrancy and authenticity of her style. Her work speaks for itself—she’s a tremendous artist—but what I hope to attest here is how much MORE you get with Erica. I’m not photogenic and I’m terribly awkward while being photographed. My fiancé and I also have a significant height difference, me being 4 inches taller. All this to say, it’s not easy to make us look good. But Erica put us immediately at ease, giving us perfect cues for posing, making us laugh, and giving genuine compliments to keep us motivated. We had an absolute blast on our engagement shoot finding awesome places in northern Minnesota, taking advantage of the gorgeous fall colors, and feeling like we’d made a great friend in Erica. It was the perfect chance to practice for wedding photos, and having that confidence in Erica made the day go so very smoothly. Nothing was left to chance or overlooked. Erica sent a detailed questionnaire to find out what our priority was for photos and what unique or meaningful touches were special to us. We talked through the whole day via video chat, and the photography timeline was laid out super clearly. Despite being crazy organized and overprepared, Erica is down for anything and great at improvising and adjusting to the needs of the moment, her easygoing personality set the tone for our entire day. She’s just fun to hang out with. She went above and beyond for us, even setting up a video call on a tripod so that my fiancé’s parents could watch our ceremony live from South Africa. And then there’s the actual photos: stunning. I can’t even believe the final product- the bright beautiful colors, the genuine emotion, the perfect timing, and delightful subtleties. She made us look SO good. And she sent a great number of our photos to us within a few days of our wedding, allowing us to share the excitement of the day while it was still fresh. I can’t say enough good things about Erica. I literally turned to my fiancé on our wedding day and said, “aside from agreeing to marry you, choosing Erica was the best decision I’ve made for this wedding.” I stand by that. 10/10 I recommend working with Erica, let her blow your socks off too.
