  Engagement/Wedding Photos

  Erica is so easy to work with! She is very organized and was always prepared for our sessions! She perfectly captured our vision for engagement photos catching all the beautiful fall colors. We did not have any fears about hiring Erica based off what we saw on social media/ reviews. Her pictures are always so bright and fun! The day of our wedding Erica made everything so seamless and the timeline was perfect. Erica is so talented and amazing to work with.

  Highly recommend

  I can’t recommend Erica enough for wedding/engagement photography! My husband and I were both very nervous for engagement and wedding pictures as we are both not very comfortable in front of the camera. My husband absolutely hates getting his picture taken and was dreading all picture aspects surrounding our wedding. However, Erica listened to our fears/stress in regards to getting our pictures taken and made sure the pictures went smoothly. She has a way of making you feel comfortable even when doing something that typically makes you very uncomfortable. She has such a fun upbeat personality and showed true excitement for what she does and for us. Her photography style involves a lot of movement and capturing real/natural moments which allowed us to get so many amazing pictures that truly felt like us. I genuinely enjoyed the picture taking process with Erica and never would have imagined that would be the case. As for my husband…in all honesty I can’t say he enjoyed the process of taking pictures but he didn’t hate it -which truly is an achievement (props to you Erica). She made sure he was comfortable but gave him just the right amount of push and encouragement that he needed. Thank you for capturing our special day!

  We cannot recommend Erica highly enough! She was an integral part of our wedding day from helping us think through our schedule to keeping us on track and worrying about the details so we could enjoy our day. I could go on and on, but here are a few of the reasons we loved working with Erica:

  I had the most wonderful wedding experience!

  I had the most wonderful wedding experience. Working with Erica from the beginning I knew she had it all taken care of. Starting off with price, she had multiple packages for all different needs and budgets. Our package included the engagement session which was a great lead into what the wedding day would be like. Erica never rushed or pushed us to do things we didn’t want to do. She was very considerate of what we wanted as well as knowing what we didn’t know we wanted! We received our engagement photos back in record time which was very helpful with sending invites out and such. The wedding day was smooth sailing. Erica arrived early and got right to work, she new exactly what she needed to get done to stay on time. I really appreciated her attention to time as well as her calming presence, I think that’s why I stayed calm too. There was nothing distracting during the ceremony, Erica and her partner were sneaky and quiet during the whole thing which I also appreciated looking back because I’ve been to weddings where the photographer sort of steals the show with distractions. As far as the rest of the day Erica knew exactly what photos had to be done and kept us on track, if not ahead of schedule! We had plans to greet all the guests at their tables and get a picture but it didn’t work out as I thought it would so Erica quickly solved the problem and had us take a group photo with ALL 200 guests and got the most awesome photo that we will remember forever. I would recommend Erica Johanna photography to anyone looking. Do you want someone organized? Done. Do you want someone with a calm demeanor? Done. Do you want someone with extreme talent for getting the most beautiful photos? Done! She does it all and I couldn’t be more happy with my choice to have her for my wedding

  Erica is the best at what she does and will help you create the vision for you have for your big day!

  We cannot say enough good things about Erica and Erica Johanna Photography. Erica was fabulous to work with and through down to the last detail and informational form. One of my friends had actually had Erica photograph her wedding so I got to witness how she worked and how seamless she made the busy wedding day and knew we had to have her shoot our day! She is thoughtful, creative and works very efficiently. She is kind, respectful and friendly to all! Our parents could not say enough good things about her on the wedding day. We loved how our engagement photos turned out and how she made sure to incorporate the color details and colors into our portraits. We are anxiously awaiting our wedding day photos and know we are in the best of hands with Erica! We could not say enough good things about Erica and would recommend her to anyone! Erica does more than weddings, engagement photos, seniors and families.

  Above and Beyond Photographer!

  We absolutely LOVED working with Erica! She was extremely organized and always willing to meet with us throughout the entire planning process (which was so helpful when planning our wedding from out of state)! She made us feel very comfortable in the front of the camera and was very encouraging, thoughtful, and friendly! Erica worked well with all of our other vendors and ensured our wedding day ran smoothly! We were extremely happy with both our engagement and wedding photos and how quickly we received them! We received so many compliments from family and friends on our photos and how EJP captured our day perfectly (even with the gale force winds and an outside wedding)! Erica went above and beyond all our of expectations! We cannot recommend Erica enough!

  Erica was the absolute best to work with! She is so organized and made everything so easy on us. Not only was she super professional and experienced, she was a lot of fun at our engagement session and on our wedding day (& the photos were AMAZING). We could not recommend Erica enough!

  She's incredible!!!

  Erica did an amazing job! We had an idea of what we both wanted for our photos and she took those broad ideas and location ideas and made it happen! Because of some weather concerns, she was able to be sure that the location we went to had a great second option if we needed it. Since we did engagement photos with her it made our wedding day seamless and fluid. The photos turned out a million times better then I could have ever imagined. She is a great person to work with and I will definitely be booking her for our future photo needs.

  Flexible and unbeatable quality!

  We felt so comfortable with Erica and Neil, they did a great job of understanding our wedding vision and giving us exactly what we asked for. They are top tier quality for a fair and reasonable price. The photos are more beautiful than we could have ever imagined! Additionally, we really appreciated how flexible Erica & Neil were during COVID. There were no problems with changing the contract as wedding plans changed and they were so accommodating. That just shows how committed they are to ensuring the best possible experience for their clients!

  Hire Erica, you won't regret it!

  We absolutely loved working with Erica and are so glad we booked her for our engagement photos and wedding. Erica is so personable, professional, and organized. It really felt like we were being photographed by a friend. She had a knack for explaining poses and making you feel like you were born to be a model…we were scared it might be awkward, but it wasn’t in the least. Erica is also extremely communicative and attentive, and she was always telling us to reach out to her if we needed tips for wedding planning. She scheduled several meetings and questionnaires to check in with us and allow us to provide her with a vision of what we wanted on our wedding day. She worked with us to come up with a wedding timeline and made sure to buffer in time for us to relax and just enjoy ourselves which we greatly appreciated. On our wedding day we got so many compliments on how kind Erica was and how she seemed to know everyone’s name. I can’t imagine the prep work that goes in to memorizing names of close family members. Erica is great at directing people to get family portraits done in a timely manner so you don’t have any uncles or cousins getting bored and wandering off. We cannot recommend Erica enough! Less than a week after our wedding, Erica had highlights posted on her blog which included more than 100 photos and the ability to download them. Erica was definitely our favorite wedding vendor to work with, and we are so incredibly grateful that she was part of our wedding day!

  Best decision

  I came across Erica’s page via an Instagram search, and I instantly fell in love with the vibrancy and authenticity of her style. Her work speaks for itself—she’s a tremendous artist—but what I hope to attest here is how much MORE you get with Erica. I’m not photogenic and I’m terribly awkward while being photographed. My fiancé and I also have a significant height difference, me being 4 inches taller. All this to say, it’s not easy to make us look good. But Erica put us immediately at ease, giving us perfect cues for posing, making us laugh, and giving genuine compliments to keep us motivated. We had an absolute blast on our engagement shoot finding awesome places in northern Minnesota, taking advantage of the gorgeous fall colors, and feeling like we’d made a great friend in Erica. It was the perfect chance to practice for wedding photos, and having that confidence in Erica made the day go so very smoothly. Nothing was left to chance or overlooked. Erica sent a detailed questionnaire to find out what our priority was for photos and what unique or meaningful touches were special to us. We talked through the whole day via video chat, and the photography timeline was laid out super clearly. Despite being crazy organized and overprepared, Erica is down for anything and great at improvising and adjusting to the needs of the moment, her easygoing personality set the tone for our entire day. She’s just fun to hang out with. She went above and beyond for us, even setting up a video call on a tripod so that my fiancé’s parents could watch our ceremony live from South Africa. And then there’s the actual photos: stunning. I can’t even believe the final product- the bright beautiful colors, the genuine emotion, the perfect timing, and delightful subtleties. She made us look SO good. And she sent a great number of our photos to us within a few days of our wedding, allowing us to share the excitement of the day while it was still fresh. I can’t say enough good things about Erica. I literally turned to my fiancé on our wedding day and said, “aside from agreeing to marry you, choosing Erica was the best decision I’ve made for this wedding.” I stand by that. 10/10 I recommend working with Erica, let her blow your socks off too.

  You're missing out if you don't hire Erica!

  We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Erica. From the beginning to the end, she was detail oriented, present, and so easy to work with. She made us feel comfortable and natural in front of a camera. Her constant, “you guys this is so beautiful,” as she snapped the camera, had Nick convinced that he could quit his job to become a model.
  
  In addition to her ongoing encouragement and positive feedback, we can’t say enough about how easy Erica made it to plan our wedding. We only hope we can be as organized as Erica some day. She creates a detailed timeline outlining everything from when she will photograph reception details to cutting the cake.   We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Erica. From the beginning to the end, she was detail oriented, present, and so easy to work with. She made us feel comfortable and natural in front of a camera.   The best!!!

  An extremely amazing person who just happens to also take awesome pictures! I actually had no interaction with Erica before the wedding as my Primary Photographer hired her at the last minute for us. But I trusted anyone she brought on! And I am SO happy she was a part of our day. Erica was just so KIND and professional in everything she did and it was extremely awesome to watch her bounce ideas off of the other photographers and videographers that we had. I had no idea until after that it was also her first time in California and I just feel so honored to have her be there for our day! Thank you again for your awesomeness and I am just so thankful for you putting your all into making sure our day was so amazing!

  Amazing! That is the first one that comes to mind when thinking of Erica and Neil. They captured our wedding perfectly from the small details to the very large family photos. They made both of us feel so comfortable and relaxed during the entire process. They are willing to work with you on every detail you have an even go above and beyond.   Erica and Neil are simply amazing. I could not recommend them more, I love that they really care about the people they are working with. First of all - they traveled down to the middle of nowhere Texas, where my husband is stationed, just for our engagement pictures and to get to know us (because of the military there was no way we were going to make it back to MN for the pictures).
  Erica was my go to girl for so many questions and she was so helpful, not sure I could have done this without her. They were both so great helping us figure out a timeline for the day and making sure we got all of the pictures we wanted. On our wedding day when things got stressful or we were running late, they had a way of making it less stressful. They made pictures fun and we loved working with them - they are just the kind of people you want to be around, especially on your wedding day!

  One of the reasons we initially were attracted to work with Erica and Neil was because they are two photographers! Having two individual people taking pictures at your event, means you don't have to worry about missing a moment. Both Erica and Neil are amazing people and photographers. Communication was super easy, and they were very flexible with calls. I personally appreciated how they were willing to stay past the standard time slot we arranged for our engagement photos. This to me showed dedication to capturing the best photos, not just working for a specific time. Through the whole process, Erica and Neil were able to provide schedules, items to think about, and additional information you wouldn't expect to get from a photographer.   Absolutely beautiful wedding photos!

  I highly recommend Erica for your wedding or family photos. Erica and Neil were absolutely fantastic to work with. We are an older couple and our wedding was small with close family. Our wedding took place on a cold sleet/snow evening at a location on Lake Minnetonka with extremely treacherous driving conditions. Nonetheless they were on time, took care to photograph us in flattering poses and took wonderful family pictures on top of the wedding pictures. Their photos were beautiful and they delivered them edited and electronically within a week of our wedding.

  BEST photographer ever!

  Where do I even begin? We were a wedding that needed to reschedule during the pandemic. Our original photographer couldn't do our new date. We found Neil and Erica - we didn't even meet them in person until our wedding day. I felt like we had known them our whole life. They are very personable and go with the flow. They knew exactly what they're doing. The pictures turned out AMAZING and we got them back very quickly. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a photographer. I know we will use them again in the future!

  If you’re on the wire trying to answer all the questions swirling through your head regarding wedding photography, please choose ericajohannaphotography.com. I never take the time to write reviews, but this team deserves so much more.
  
  On top of waking to rain, the location we had chosen for our big day offered limited to no cell service. Neil & Erica shot what are and will be the most beautiful pictures we’ve ever been a part of, but supported the coordination, communication and “calm” which led to a massively successful and happy day for my bride and I.
  
  Their ability to think outside the box in framing shots is only a small part of why we have such amazing things to say in recommending this company. Pre and post big day we felt as though we were discussing our wedding plans with lifelong friends. What shots we desired, which ones we had not thought of, and their flexibility to meet us on our schedules was unbelievable. The use of the Portal they have is a game changer when it comes to understanding our action items in planning everything.
  
  A few days before the wedding, I had seen a few pictures taken at our venue by another organization and decided we’d like something similar. During the reception, even though I had forgotten I had asked for these, Erica & Neil had already set the stage and orchestrated the perfect pictures around a pool with Lumineers to make this happen. I ended up blowing these up to poster size and it turned out amazing!!
  
  Our only downfall in hiring ericajohannaphotography.com was not hiring them to join our honeymoon trip in Africa. Amazing photography is something extremely hard to come by these days. In a sea of what seem to be the same pictures, Erica & Neil just do it differently. The only thing better than capturing incredible moments to look back on, is when the people capturing them become amazing friends for the future.

  Erica was an awesome photographer! She was so flexible throughout the whole process, even though I kept adding on more time to the package. She rolled with the changes the day of and did her best to make everything go smoothly! She even came early and stayed later than we had agreed. We couldn't be happier with the quality of photos and the effort put in to make sure we had great photos. Even better were all the candid shots she took. Erica went above and beyond to make the day an awesome one and I'm so happy we chose her!
