Emily did a very good job with are wedding and captured some excellent pictures. We did our wedding on a relatively low budget and Emily was willing to work with us to help us get the biggest bang for our buck.

Emily took our engagement pictures in May 2018 and our wedding photos in May 2019, and I would definitely recommend her as a wedding photographer! Emily has a great eye; she made sure the lighting was great before she took the photos. She also did an amazing job editing the photos so that the light hit us perfectly!

Another thing that I really liked was that while she took photos, Emily also took some videos of the important moments of our wedding day (our first look, vows, etc.). These videos are really special, and it was nice that we did not have to hire an extra videographer to have videos of these special moments.

She also was very responsive both before and after our wedding. She was very flexible in setting up meetings and communicating about the schedule/what photos we wanted. I was never stressed out that we would not get all the photos we wanted, etc. About a week after our wedding, Emily sent us a three-minute video of our photos/videos - this was a great way to relive our wedding day. In addition, she sent us a link with all of our wedding photos very quickly, so we did not have to wait very long to look over our photos.

My only concern was that during our engagement session, she did not provide much direction for posing. The photos still turned out well, but after that session, I let Emily know that my now-husband and I would like more direction with posing. Before our wedding day, I sent her my wedding photo Pinterest board with photo inspiration. She printed out these photos and brought them to our wedding, and she provided good feedback to help us pose for photos. So, as long as you are clear with your expectations/how you want your sessions to go (e.g., want posing direction or no direction), she is very receptive to feedback.

Overall, I would recommend Emily Jia Photography. She takes wonderful wedding photos at a reasonable price.

Working with Emily was a delight! We picked her for our wedding because of the beautiful portraits we had seen of hers. We loved our pictures, and I would definitely recommend her for whatever occasion you wish to have photographed. She had the perfect touch on photoshop and takes pride in small details, such as a personalized box that contained the USB with our photos.

Emily Jia was a great photographer for our wedding. She put together great shots at the wedding with many different group compositions. She also took many impromptu shots of our wedding that really captured the feeling and emotion at the event. Emily then sorted through to find the best pictures and presented them to us in an order that helped us to relive our special day.

One especially notable thing about the work Emily does is her attention to detail, she works hard to find just the right shot and angle so the picture looks as good as possible. The result of her work is a collection of pictures that perfectly captured the joy of our wedding, and reminds us of it every time we look through the pictures she provided us.

If we could change one thing about Emily, we would prefer her family not move away from Iowa to New York. The distance makes it hard to continue to work with her, but we will try because she's worth it!

We got in for a quick photo shoot before our wedding and Emily was very willing to accommodate all of our requests. She even had a variety of dresses to try on. We did several locations and Emily was very conscious of getting good natural lighting for the very best photos. The photos turned out spectacular and we have one of them hanging in the foyer for people to look at as they walk in to our house. Thanks Emily!

I had found Emily's photography online and knew immediately I had to ask her to take our wedding photos. We were hesitant to take engagement pictures cause of cost but Emily had an affordable package to do both. She was very accommodating as we were worried the fall leaves would be gone and was able to move our engagement photo date up. Emily went above and beyond our expectations for two camera shy subjects. We knew we would feel awkward at first but Emily was encouraging and patient to where we felt comfortable and had more fun with it within the first 10 minutes. She was open to some ideas we had and had great ones of her own. I really enjoyed that we got to collaborate on background ideas and shots. I would highly recommend Emily for not just engagement photos or wedding but any photoshoots!
