Excellent Calligraphy and Wonderful service!

I had a last minute request for a custom calligraphy piece and Elissa was absolutely phenomenal throughout the process. She was so quick to respond to the request and was also able to turnaround a really quick turnaround which was great appreciated. I can't wait to work with Elissa again and highly recommender her!

So pleased with my elegant & imaginative project

Although my calligraphy project (a hand lettered, commemorative, wooden plaque) had nothing to do with a wedding, Elissa's responsiveness to my needs and willingness to experiment with materials were outstanding. The final result was elegant, so I strongly recommend her skills and resourcefulness .

Incredible Lettering, Amazing Customer Service

I would absolutely recommend Elissa Barr Calligraphy. She is lovely to work with, creative, responsive and timely. Her final product was INCREDIBLE. We ordered teacher gifts (calligraphed quotes) and needless to say the teachers all said this was by far the most thoughtful and artistic gift they had ever received. I will definitely work with Elissa Barr again, and recommend her to anyone.

Elissa's work is beautiful; she calligraphied my vows as a first anniversary gift. Additionally, she was a pleasure to work with. I preferred to email and she was prompt with responses, samples and suggestions. She provided a closely accurate estimate of the work prior to beginning, which is was also appreciated. I will certainly recommend her work.

So happy with Elissa's work. She created our ketubah (Jewish wedding contract) - she did the design, color, and English and Hebrew calligraphy. She did a fantastic job! We gave her quite a challenge by providing our own detailed border, but she worked hard to use our design and even improve it. She was always very responsive, very clear about expectations and pricing, and so nice. She even mounted it for us and gave us pens for the signing! I can't wait to get it framed and display it!

My fiancee and I hired Elissa to calligraph a ketubah for our same-sex Jewish wedding. She was wonderful to work with. She is friendly and personable, and very accommodating in making the changes necessary to create a piece for a same-sex couple. The ketubah she created for us was gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. Her Hebrew calligraphy is every bit as gorgeous as the English. Elissa also responds very quickly to emails and is up front about the timetable and cost of her work- it was worth every penny. We will be recommending her to all of our friends with upcoming weddings!

Wedding calligraphy

Elissa addressed envelopes as well as created place cards and table numbers for me. They were beautiful! I was working on a tight time frame and I really appreciated her flexibility in getting the job done.
Elissa was a pleasure to work with, and provided colors and samples that I loved. She is also a lovely person to chat with(! ) All in all a very positive experience.
