Patrick married us at the Tidewater, and we couldn’t have been happier. It was a bit short notice (someone who shall remain nameless and whom I’m now married to, ha!) waited until a month before our wedding to find an officiant. You’d think a pastor would know better, but I digress.

On the big day, he handled everything with ease and warmth, keeping the ceremony flowing perfectly and taking care of all the details, including efficiently returning our signed marriage certificate to the court.

Everything about our ceremony was great. It captured our personalities so well it felt like it had been written by an old friend. We were nervous about picking an officiant because we are not religious and didn't want to deal with any of THAT. Patrick is more of an artist and a talented one at that. One of the best things about Elegant Ceremonies is that Patrick won't try to pressure you into spending your money. We saw alot of that when we were hiring companies for our wedding. He did email a couple times after it took us a while to make a decision, but he never was intrusive and he never tried to guilt us into spending money. We talked to alot of people and almost lost out on hiring Patrick because he was the first person we talked to and after more than a month of interviewing officiants we finally realized he was the best choice all along. The ceremony he wrote was truly and really personal. When we told him we wanted to also hire him to coordinate our rehearsal he gave us a free rehearsal walk through guide and told us to read it first because he didn't want us to spend extra if we weren't sure. We still decided to hire him for the rehearsal because we just wanted the extra help, and it was worth every penny.

We had the opportunity to have Patrick officiate our wedding, and he did a fantastic job. From our initial phone call to our in-person meeting, he was really clear about the process of creating the ceremony. After our in-person meeting he put together a really wonderful ceremony script on the first round, which was really just what we were looking for as far as tone, length, and incorporating much of what we had discussed with him.

On the day of, he was prompt, professional, and made sure to coordinate easily with the folks who were handling the other aspects of the ceremony. When the drizzle started to intensify during our outdoor ceremony, he kept things moving and made sure that we got through the ceremony before the rain drops became too much of a distraction. Afterwards he helpfully followed up to confirm the marriage license had been filed and offered guidance on the daunting process of changing one's name. He was really great to work with throughout the process and we'd be happy to recommend him to others.

I can't say enough good things about our beautifully written vows, ceremony, or the unique and personal feeling that they gave our special day. My husband and I wanted a wedding ceremony that showed our friends and family who we are as a couple, and how much we love and care for each other, and that is exactly what we received. Patrick even went out of his way to include our 5 year old daughter in the process, and wrote beautiful daddy-daughter vows for her and my husband.
