A Heartfelt Ceremony with a Personal Touch

Patrick married us at the Tidewater, and we couldn’t have been happier. It was a bit short notice (someone who shall remain nameless and whom I’m now married to, ha!) waited until a month before our wedding to find an officiant. You’d think a pastor would know better, but I digress.

From the start, Patrick was professional, thoughtful, and kind. He took the time to get to know us and beautifully wove our story into the ceremony, making it feel personal and heartfelt. On the big day, he handled everything with ease and warmth, keeping the ceremony flowing perfectly and taking care of all the details, including efficiently returning our signed marriage certificate to the court.

If you’re looking for an officiant who doesn’t just go through the motions but truly puts his heart into what he does, we wholeheartedly recommend Patrick.

Made it amazing for everyone

Loved our very personal wedding ceremony and how it captured us as a couple. We're still receiving many compliments from our guests. Who would have thought people would ever say that the ceremony was one of the best parts of the wedding!

Patrick was great

He put so much time into making sure that our ceremony was perfect. We got so many complements from friends and family who thought that he had really worked well to understand us as a couple and carry that across in the ceremony.

Patrick married us at the Inn at Perry Cabin. He was fantastic in every way! He took the time to create a beautiful, personalized ceremony for us. Patrick was professional, prepared and entertaining. After the wedding, he ensured we had all necessary information to complete the marriage process.

Everything about our ceremony was great. It captured our personalities so well it felt like it had been written by an old friend. We were nervous about picking an officiant because we are not religious and didn't want to deal with any of THAT. Patrick is more of an artist and a talented one at that. That worked out very well for us.

I recommend Patrick to anyone getting married because he is a great officiant, his ceremonies are beautiful, he's very friendly, and he is very ethical. One of the best things about Elegant Ceremonies is that Patrick won't try to pressure you into spending your money. We saw alot of that when we were hiring companies for our wedding. He did email a couple times after it took us a while to make a decision, but he never was intrusive and he never tried to guilt us into spending money. We talked to alot of people and almost lost out on hiring Patrick because he was the first person we talked to and after more than a month of interviewing officiants we finally realized he was the best choice all along. The ceremony he wrote was truly and really personal. When we told him we wanted to also hire him to coordinate our rehearsal he gave us a free rehearsal walk through guide and told us to read it first because he didn't want us to spend extra if we weren't sure. We still decided to hire him for the rehearsal because we just wanted the extra help, and it was worth every penny.

We had the opportunity to have Patrick officiate our wedding, and he did a fantastic job. From our initial phone call to our in-person meeting, he was really clear about the process of creating the ceremony. After our in-person meeting he put together a really wonderful ceremony script on the first round, which was really just what we were looking for as far as tone, length, and incorporating much of what we had discussed with him.

On the day of, he was prompt, professional, and made sure to coordinate easily with the folks who were handling the other aspects of the ceremony. When the drizzle started to intensify during our outdoor ceremony, he kept things moving and made sure that we got through the ceremony before the rain drops became too much of a distraction. Afterwards he helpfully followed up to confirm the marriage license had been filed and offered guidance on the daunting process of changing one's name. He was really great to work with throughout the process and we'd be happy to recommend him to others.

If you are looking for an officiant who will go above and beyond to get to know you as a couple, and to integrate those small, but important, details into your ceremony, Patrick is the right choice for you. I can't say enough good things about our beautifully written vows, ceremony, or the unique and personal feeling that they gave our special day. My husband and I wanted a wedding ceremony that showed our friends and family who we are as a couple, and how much we love and care for each other, and that is exactly what we received. Patrick even went out of his way to include our 5 year old daughter in the process, and wrote beautiful daddy-daughter vows for her and my husband. When they stood up together and recited them, there wasn't a dry eye in the whole place! Patrick, thank you so much for the incredible memories you helped to create. Patrick (the owner of Elegant Ceremonies) has been a friend of mine for 17 years. My fiance has also had the pleasure of spending time with him over the past few years. So, he was the obvious choice when selecting an officiant for our wedding. Patrick is a true professional ensuring that there is clear communication and timeliness in preparing information and responding to questions/comments. He truly has a unique skill but is also open to ideas to enhance the ceremony. He also has the great ability to be personable and make sure that our ceremony was not cookie cutter and something that reflected us, as a couple. SIMPLY THE BEST!

Rev Patrick was so easy to work with. He handled everything so easily every step of the way. There were a couple things that didn't even dawn on us until he checked with is to make sure we had everything we needed. He was able to help us out on very short notice. Believe it or not we forgot to get an officiant. The ceremony was more than I would have expected with little planning. Recommend!!

We could not have asked for a better officiant than we had in Patrick. Patrick worked with us to make sure that the content of the ceremony was exactly as we wanted. It had the right blend of humor and seriousness with some personal aspects thrown in. He was extremely professional and organized, which made everything from our first meeting to the completion of our ceremony run so smoothly. We knew that we could count on him even when it felt like everything else was a mess. Another bonus was that he emailed me some instructions for how to go about the whole name change process! It was unexpected and very helpful. I highly recommend Patrick for anyone looking for an officiant in the area!

I hate to give all "5s" but when it's absolutely warranted, I have no other choice! :) Although we never met Partick in person, (we did have skype sessions) you would have thought he had known us for years considering the thoughtfulness and personal touch of the ceremony. Our guests laughed and cried and even asked for his business card ! We wouldn't have changed a thing and never could have imagined a more perfect ceremony. Worth every penny spent and then some. My new husband and I HIGHLY recommend Patrick to anyone tiring the knot, literally anyone.

Rev. Patrick Lopez with Elegant Ceremonies was a perfect officiant for us and our needs. In every business sense, he was perfectly accommodating, professional, and flexible. If you want an officiant who knows how to write a wedding ceremony, Rev. Patrick is the best! We decided to book him because after talking to him on Skype we could see that he's very knowledgeable and were sure he'd do a great job. I had no idea that officiants could be so expensive and at first we weren't sure why it cost hundreds of dollars for someone basically give a speech. But we didn't even realize how much we wanted a really great ceremony until he sent us the first copy. When we read it we were even more excited. It was clear that he spend hours working on our ceremony to get it just right. It was completely personal. We did ask for one minor revision, and a few days later he send us a final copy. He was also very accommodating and let us ask for another change to add something else to the ceremony even though we had already finalized the ceremony a month before that. In my very biased opinion we had the most beautiful wedding ceremony ever! I cannot say enough about how happy we are!

We loved everything Patrick did for us! You can't find a nicer person. He's a true professional, and is the best expert we could have imagined. Responded to every email quickly, and was so very helpful. Before hiring him we were almost ready to hire another company who say they are professionals. But the way they said they write the ceremony was for us to pick ceremony parts from a list, and that was it. And they wanted $600 for it! So glad Patrick was available, because he wrote us a one of a kind ceremony.

Patrick was the second person we talked to out of five different officiants but he is the ONLY one I would say was actually a professional. He set the bar high, and nobody else came close.

Patrick was great. He's very friendly and was so helpful. We really liked that he really wanted to get to know us and make sure that our ceremony was just right for us. And he's super easy to talk to which was important because we were sharing our life stories with someone who you only met a little while ago. We were worried that some wedding ministers might look down at us because we've been living together for five years and have two kids already. It was such a relief that all he cared about was that we are happy together and love each other. Highly recommend!

My husband and I loved our ceremony service! Patrick was very professional and personable. He spent quality time with us discussing several options with us to help make our ceremony special. I have been to some pretty terrible ceremony weddings where they were really long, awkward, and just stiff. You won't have that with Elegant Ceremonies! All of my guests raved about how wondertul our ceremony was and that Patrick was engaging, funny and professional. After the ceremony he even helped with bringing in a special guest singer as a surprise from my moh undetected while the entire wedding party was taking pictures. It was a wonderful surprise, and Patrick we are truly thankful for everything you did for us, our wedding wouldn't of been the same without you!

When we contracted Rev. Patrick we were in a real bind because we already had an officiant who had backed out on us with short notice. Luckily a friend was able to suggest Patrick and it turned out so much better than we could have ever hoped! One thing we didn't want was a cookie cutter ceremony but with only a month to go at first we were worried that we might have no choice to settle for one. Patrick quickly made time to meet with us and got to know us. Patrick is very insightful and even though we were new acquaintances gee wrote a ceremony that felt like he'd known us forever. I was amazed at how easy he made it seem.

The first guy we had gave us a booklet with lots of different ceremony options and told us to pick out the ones we liked, which seemed nice because we could have whatever we wanted. Patrick asked us about the kind of things we had picked with the first guy so that he could match them ad much as possible. But then he did even better! The ceremony he emailed us a week later was ten times better than what we'd been expecting before that first guy backed out! He had a couple of well timed jokes that helped everyone relax. The whole ceremony felt like a comfortable conversation with a group of good friends. He also has a great natural speaking voice, and all of our 100 guests could hear him perfectly clear without a microphone.

When we nearly had a wedding disaster Rev. Patrick became a blessing in disguise. I couldn't be happier that we ended up with him!

Don't know how things could have really been better. Patrick wrote a beautiful ceremony for us. My favorite part was the way he made the unity sand part of the I do section. I thought it was very creative how he was able to weave those sections together. I've seen unity sand many times but never the way we had it in our wedding. We picked Elegant Ceremonies because of the three people we talked to Patrick was the most knowledgeable. Giving his info to my cousin!

Mr. Lopez wrote the most amazing ceremony for us. We and our guests were so impressed! I mean amazingly impressed! I gave him the base idea along with our discussion about us and who we are and he ran with it to write something so much more incredible than I could have ever imagined on my own! My guests are still talking about it - one couple even said that they've been to a LOT of weddings recently and ours is their fave, most especially from the ceremony. I can't give enough praise to Mr. Lopez.

We are so glad we asked Patrick to be our wedding officiant because he was great from beginning to end. He was very friendly to work with and wrote a great wedding script for our ceremony and made sure we had all of the little details we needed to be sure we were ready for our wedding day. He was also very patient and professional with other people we hired for our wedding. Even after one of them was rude and unprofessional to him. We are very glad we hired Patrick and will recommend him to our friends who are getting married.
