Built in 1919, Dresser Mansion, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a unique and historic setting to host a wedding. Originally built to host lavish parties, the Dresser Mansion is still in pristine condition with manicured lawn and gardens and exquisite upkeep throughout the house. One of the most favored parts of the house is in the library, where a bar is nestled behind the bookshelves, built in secret during Prohibition. The mansion boasts other unique aspects such as hand-crafted Italian tiles, views of the Arkansas River, a phone booth, and a butler's safe, all which are available for exploration by couples and their guests.
Facilities and Capacity
With room for up to 200 wedding guests, the Dresser Mansion property allows for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, based on a couple’s guest count. Guests can park on-site, and valet service is also available. The living room is perfect for an intimate ceremony as well as a reception area, and additional seating can be accommodated in the dining room. Garden ceremonies are a picturesque delight on the lawn, which can hold the largest number of guests. Adjacent to the lawn is a brick patio, where three sets of french doors open into the ballroom. Both a bridal suite and a groom’s quarter section are available for both sides of the wedding party. The 800-square-foot bridal space used to be Mrs. Dresser’s suite, and provides plenty of space and fun for larger wedding parties, thanks to the built-in closets hiding behind the teal walls. Updated with central air and heat, both spaces contain sleeping porches with great views. For the couple’s families, a sitting room provides a quiet place to relax while the wedding party gets ready.
The mansion is available to host wedding ceremonies, receptions, engagement parties, and bridal showers. The venue holds liability insurance, and allows coupes to bring in their own outside vendors for catering, beverage service, floral needs, decorating, and other items. The staff can provide assistance in setting up and cleaning up before and after the occasion. Couples can look through the venue’s inventory for decoration options such as:
Built in 1919 for Carl and Pauline Dresser, the mansion was decorated through interior decorators from Lloyd’s of London, who furnished the inside with 16th-century furniture, Oriental rugs, textiles, silver, and tapestries. The inside finish is still original today, as are the hardwood Tennessee oak floors and Circassian Walnut trees brought from King George V’s private forests that make up the heavily beamed ceilings. The mansion is recognized by the Oklahoma Historical Society as a historical site, its Italian Renaissance architecture and one-of-a-kind details highlighting the mansion’s unique past.

I loved having the entire Mansion to ourselves during the wedding day. We were able to set up all the decor and get ready without really leaving. Bethany was so helpful and allowed us to drop by whenever we needed. It was beautiful. The owner was very nice and ensured that everything was perfect for our big day, like turning off the AC during the ceremony so that the noise wouldn't interrupt, then promptly turning it back on right after. It was perfect and everything I wanted in a venue for my ceremony and reception.Sent on 06/09/2015
